Haydon Wick

Abbey Park School is a mixed secondary school in North Swindon, Wiltshire, England.The school was called Isambard School when it was established in 2007. The name and uniform changed in 2017. In 2018, Abbey Park School became an academy, joining 'The Park Academies Trust'.

Priory Vale is a community in the north of the Borough of Swindon, Wiltshire, England, which comprises the urban villages of Redhouse, Oakhurst and Haydon End. Although not strictly part of Priory Vale, the nearby village of Taw Hill completes this instalment of Swindon's northern expansion which began with Abbey Meads in the mid-1990s and continued at St Andrew's Ridge. The area was developed during the early 21st century. Priory Vale is served by Thamesdown Drive, or the 'Northern Orbital Road', a dual carriageway which runs through the centre of the area and links Purton Road in West Swindon, itself an urban expansion area from the 1970s and 1980s, to the A419 Blunsdon Bypass. On completion, Priory Vale is expected to comprise just over 6,000 new homes spread over 640 acres (2.6 km2). The homes themselves take up 390 acres (1.6 km2), interspersed with 82 acres (330,000 m2) of open space. Four primary schools and two secondary schools are provided. Previously known as the Northern Development Area, the potential for development was identified by Swindon Corporation in the 1960s in planning documents known as the Gold and Silver books, and the scheme was confirmed in a "Vision for Thamesdown" in the 1980s.

St Andrews is a civil parish in the borough of Swindon, Wiltshire, England. In 2021 it had a population of 19,096.

Nova Hreod Academy (formerly Hreod Burna Senior High School, Hreod Parkway School and Nova Hreod College) is a mixed secondary school with academy status, located in Swindon, Wiltshire for students aged 11 to 16.

Moredon Halt railway station was on the Midland and South Western Junction Railway in Wiltshire. The station, a few miles north west of Swindon, opened on 25 March 1913 on the section of the line from Swindon Town to Cirencester that had itself opened in 1883. Moredon Halt was built primarily for milk traffic and passenger services were not advertised, though it appears to have been used by infrequent passengers throughout its short life. It officially closed in September 1924 but the Oakley book referred to below indicates that passenger receipts were still recorded up to 1935. The single-platform station faced a siding that led to Moredon power station and up 100 coal wagons arrived each day. The M&SWJR line as a whole closed to passengers in 1961, but coal deliveries to the power station remained until 1969.

Haydon Meadow (grid reference SU120890) known locally as Clifford Meadow is a 6.39 hectare biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Wiltshire, notified in 1999. The site lies within the Parish of Haydon Wick and is home to Anacamptis morio a rare protected species of Orchid family Orchidaceae. This flower was adopted as the logo for the nearby Priory Vale housing development.

Taw Valley Halt railway station is the current (and temporary) southern terminus of the Swindon and Cricklade Railway, a heritage railway line in Wiltshire, South-West England. The restored line was extended to the site of the halt in 2012, and the halt was opened in 2014. The halt is at the point where the new track diverges from the original route of the Midland and South Western Junction Railway. There is a short siding on the original trackbed. The halt is close to Mouldon Hill Country Park on the northwest outskirts of Swindon. Plans call for the line to be continued south to a new terminus at Mouldon Hill, within the park.

Mouldon Hill Country Park is a country park to the north west of the town centre of Swindon, within the parish of Haydon Wick and close to Thamesdown Drive. It is owned and managed by Swindon Borough Council. The park is named after the small hill within it that rises from the River Ray and peaks at 105 metres above sea level.

Mouldon Hill railway station is the proposed southern terminus of the Swindon and Cricklade Railway, a heritage railway line in England. The station will be situated opposite the River Ray which flows through and within Mouldon Hill Country Park.

Rodbourne is a suburb of Swindon in Wiltshire, England, north of the town centre and about 0.9 miles (1.4 km) northwest of Swindon railway station. It includes an area formerly called Even Swindon.

Swindon Stadium, also known as the Abbey Stadium, is a Greyhound Board of Great Britain regulated greyhound racing track and former speedway track in Blunsdon, Swindon, England. Greyhound racing currently takes place every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday as part of the ARC fixture schedule.

Blunsdon is a civil parish in the Borough of Swindon, in Wiltshire, England, about 4 miles (6 km) north of the centre of Swindon, with the A419 forming its southern boundary. Its main settlement is the village of Broad Blunsdon, with Lower Blunsdon nearby; the hamlet of Broadbush is now contiguous with Broad Blunsdon. Blunsdon is the eastern half of the former Blunsdon St Andrew civil parish. In April 2017, that parish was divided and the western half became a new St Andrews parish.
