Hucclecote

Coopers Edge is a new build suburb, situated in Brockworth, between the city of Gloucester and the town of Cheltenham. Building began in 2007 at the foot of Coopers Hill.

Hucclecote Meadows (grid reference SO872163) is a 5.74-hectare (14.2-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest divided into two areas on each side of the M5 road in the Severn Vale, Gloucestershire. It was notified in 1984. The western area is also a Local Nature Reserve.

Gloucester Business Park is a business park situated in Brockworth on the outskirts of Gloucester, England with close links to the M5 and A417. Current residents of the business park include Direct Wines, Horizon Nuclear Power, Ageas, NHS and Detica.In 2009 the business park won an award from the British Association of Landscape Industries.

Abbeydale and Abbeymead are modern suburbs of the city of Gloucester in the county of Gloucestershire, England. They lie approximately 3 miles south-east of the city centre, and are bounded by the suburbs of Coney Hill to the north west, Barnwood and Hucclecote to the north and north east, Matson to the south west and the M5 motorway to the south and east. Mostly connected with Segregated Bicycle Paths into Gloucester city along Metz Way. The village of Upton St Leonards is directly across the M5 motorway. The two suburbs are contiguous and share many amenities but there is a clear definition of where Abbeydale ends and Abbeymead begins.

Chosen Hill (grid reference SO882187) (or Churchdown Hill) rises above Churchdown in Gloucestershire, England, and is the site of a 11.5-hectare (28-acre) nature reserve.The hill commands good views over the scarp and the Severn Vale and there is a network of paths for walkers. One such path is 'coffin way' from St Bartholomew's Church at the top of the hill towards Hucclecote.Covered reservoirs were constructed on the Hill in the 1940s and 1950s. There is an archaeological site - an Iron Age fort known as Churchdown Hill Camp - below the main reservoir.Geologically, it is on one of outliers of the Cotswold scarp.

Heart Gloucestershire (formerly Severn Sound) was a local radio station owned and operated by Global Radio as part of the Heart network. It broadcast to Gloucestershire from studios in Gloucester. The transmitter was at Churchdown Hill, just west of the M5; the same transmitter as Radio Gloucestershire.

Hucclecote is a civil parish in the Tewkesbury district, in the county of Gloucestershire, England. As of 2019, it has a population of 2,703. The parish doesn't include the Gloucester suburb of Hucclecote.

The current Gloucestershire County Council area does not have the same geographical boundaries as the historic county. Some northern parts of the county, including Long Marston and Welford-on-Avon, were transferred to Warwickshire in 1931. Following the Local Government Act 1972, some southern parts of the county were transferred for administrative purposes to the new county of Avon, which ceased to exist on 1 April 1996. After 1996, the city of Bristol and South Gloucestershire became separate unitary authorities.

Upton St Leonards is a village in the English county of Gloucestershire. Forming part of the district of Stroud, it is a mile or so north of the A46 road between Stroud and Cheltenham.

Coney Hill Hospital (also known as Second Gloucestershire County Asylum) was a mental health facility in Gloucester, England.

Barnwood House Hospital was a private mental hospital in Barnwood, Gloucester, England. It was founded by the Gloucester Asylum Trust in 1860 as Barnwood House Institution and later became known as Barnwood House Hospital. The hospital catered for well-to-do patients, with reduced terms for those in financial difficulties. It was popular with the military and clergy, and once counted an Archbishop amongst its patients. During the late nineteenth century Barnwood House flourished under superintendent Frederick Needham, making a healthy profit and receiving praise from the Commissioners in Lunacy. Even the sewerage system was held up as a model of good asylum practice. After the First World War service patients, including war poet and composer Ivor Gurney, were treated with a regime of psychotherapy and recreations such as cricket.During the 1960s Barnwood House experienced financial problems and closed in 1968. The grounds are now an arboretum run by Gloucester City Council. Barnwood House Trust continues to exist as a charity that supports research and awards grants to people with physical or mental disabilities in Gloucestershire. The Chief Executive is Sally Byng.
