Friday Bridge is a village in the civil parish of Elm, in the Fenland district of Cambridgeshire, England. It is 3 miles south of Wisbech. In 2021 it had a population of 1412.

Elm is a village and civil parish in the Fenland District of Cambridgeshire, England. In Domesday, it is called Helle.The village is about 11⁄2 miles or 21⁄2 km south of the market town of Wisbech, immediately to the south of the Wisbech by-pass. The county boundary with Norfolk is immediately to the north and north-east. The northern part of Elm village, at Elm Low Road, acts as a suburb of Wisbech. Most of the village straddles the B1101 road, which meanders its way between Wisbech and March. The civil parish had a resident population of 3,295, as recorded during the 2001 United Kingdom census. The population including Coldham, Collett's Bridge, Friday Bridge and Ring's End was 3,962 at the 2011 Census.

Coldham is a hamlet in Elm civil parish, part of the Fenland district of the Isle of Ely, Cambridgeshire, England. Coldham is the site of a wind farm on a large farm estate of the Cooperative Group near the settlement.The parish formerly had a church dedicated to St. Ethelreda built in 1876. Mrs E.B. Tanqueray, whose husband was Bertram Tanqueray, vicar of Coldham, wrote 'The Royal Quaker', a novel about Jane Stuart publisher in 1904 by Methuen. This church was declared redundant in 2000 and has since been converted into a house. The former war memorial from the church is now located at St Mark's, Friday Bridge. The settlement formerly had a railway station on the Great Eastern Railway, although there are proposals to reinstate a station as part of the Wisbech and March Bramley Line project.

March Elm Road railway station is a proposed station in March, Cambridgeshire, which if successful, the Bramley Line will make as the southern terminus next to Elm Road Crossing. It was part of a branch of the Great Eastern Railway which ran from March to Watlington. The line closed in the 1960s, but a recent idea by the Wisbech and March Bramley Line to restore the line between Wisbech and March may see trains return to route in some form. However, the organisation would need to raise £10,000 to acquire the lease of the line and then set about repairing it to the required railways inspectorate standard. Additional funds to build this and other stations would then need to be raised by the small number of volunteers. No detailed costings for the additional work are available. Elm Road has never had a station before, and this would be the southern terminus to begin with. It is the intention in years to come, to try to get Heritage services into the disused platforms at March Station. At present no business case has been made public to suggest that there is a demand for a heritage railway in this area, nor have any concrete proposals or costings been drawn up to substantiate this scheme.

Waldersea railway station is a proposed station situated on the former Wisbech line from March to Wisbech, and will be the proposed terminal of the railway along the disused trackbed.

Coldham railway station was a station in Coldham, Cambridgeshire. It was on the branch of the Great Eastern Railway which ran from March to Watlington, Norfolk. The station opened in 1847, and in 1894 a porter was killed in an accident there.The station closed in 1966, the line closed for passengers in 1968 and for freight in 2000. Nothing remains of the former station, with the exception of the former toilet block, which is concealed by undergrowth which has built up since the station closed. A plan by the Bramley Line to restore the line between Wisbech and March may see trains return to Coldham in some form.

Thomas Clarkson Academy is a mixed secondary school and sixth form located in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, England. A new school building has been constructed that was designed by Ken Shuttleworth and Make Architects.Formerly the Queen's School, it was established following the merger of the secondary modern Queen's Girls' School and Queen's Boys' School in the 1970s. It was renamed Thomas Clarkson Community College in 2007 under the Fresh Start programme following an Ofsted report that judged it to be a 'failing school'. It is named after Thomas Clarkson, the Wisbech-born abolitionist and leading campaigner against the slave trade in the British Empire. The school was converted to academy status in June 2012 and was renamed Thomas Clarkson Academy. As an academy, the school is sponsored by Brooke Weston Trust.It offers a range of GCSEs and BTECs to pupils as courses of study. Sixth form have options to study a range of A Levels and BTECs.

Collett's Bridge is a hamlet within the parish of Elm in the Isle of Ely, Cambridgeshire, England. It is situated on the eastern boundary of the district 1.5 miles east of Elm. It lies just off Gosmoor Lane, adjacent to the Wisbech/Littleport Road. (A1101). The settlement, which is a small group of dwellings, lies alongside the former Wisbech Canal, filled in as a waste disposal site in the early 1970s, and the former tram railway between Wisbech and Upwell. In mid 1990 the housing stock numbered some 20 dwellings.

The Wisbech and Upwell Tramway was a rural standard gauge tramway in East Anglia. It was built by the Great Eastern Railway between Wisbech, Isle of Ely, Cambridgeshire, and Upwell, now in Norfolk, to carry agricultural produce. Although called a tramway, in many ways it more closely resembled a conventional railway line and paved the way for the passing of the Light Railways Act 1896.

Elmbridge railway station was a stop on the Wisbech and Upwell Tramway. It was in a projection of the parish of Emneth, Norfolk but was immediately south-east of the town of Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. It was opened on 20 August 1883 to serve nearby settlements and closed to passengers on 2 January 1928. The tramway ceased by closing to goods in 1966.

Wisbech East was a railway station in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. It was opened in 1848 and became part of the Great Eastern Railway network, providing connections to March, Watlington and St Ives, as well as Upwell via the Wisbech and Upwell Tramway. The station closed in 1968 and no trace of it remains today. A freight-only line remains extant as far as a factory based in the station's former goods yard, and a heritage railway based in March is aiming to reinstate services to Wisbech and construct a new station as near as possible to Newbridge Lane crossing. In June 2009 the Association of Train Operating Companies published a report indicating that the reopening of the line to Wisbech and construction of a new station could be viable, in that the ratio of business, economic and social benefits to costs would be just over £1m.
