Coventry Ordnance Works was a British manufacturer of heavy guns particularly naval artillery jointly owned by Cammell Laird & Co of Sheffield and Birkenhead, Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Company of Govan, Glasgow and John Brown & Company of Clydebank and Sheffield. Its core operations were from a 60-acre site in Stoney Stanton Road in the English city of Coventry, Warwickshire. At the end of 1918 it became a principal constituent of a brand new enterprise English Electric Company Limited. After World War II the works made electricity-generating machinery and heavy machine tools.

HMS Mercia was a shore establishment of the Royal Navy located in Smith Street, Coventry, England. The establishment functioned primarily as a communications training centre for Royal Navy personnel in the Midlands. The establishment was commissioned on 1 October 1984 as part of the Royal Navy's network of shore based training facilities. HMS Mercia provided training in naval communications, signalling procedures, wireless operation & administrative support functions. The unit also supported Royal Naval Reserve activities in the region, maintaining a Royal Navy presence in Coventry during the later stages of the Cold War. Located in Smith Street in central Coventry, HMS Mercia occupied premises associated with wartime & post war military administration in the city. The establishment formed part of a wider reorganisation of Royal Navy shore facilities during the 1980s, with smaller communications & reserve training units distributed across major regional centres. The establishment remained operational throughout the late 1980s & early 1990s. Following reductions in Royal Navy shore establishments after the end of the Cold War, HMS Mercia was selected for closure. The establishment paid off on 29 July 1994, when the ship's company transferred to HMS Forward in nearby Birmingham. Following the decommissioning of HMS Mercia, the establishment's ship's bell was presented to Coventry Cathedral, where it remains displayed as part of the cathedral's links with the British Armed Forces.

Courthouse Green is a suburb in the north of Coventry. It is bordered by Bell Green in the northwest, by Stoke Heath in the south, and by Foleshill in the southeast.

Stoke Heath is a residential area of Coventry, West Midlands, England. It is situated approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) to the north east of the city centre. It borders Courthouse Green to the north, Wyken to the east and Stoke to the south with its western edge demarcated by the A444.

The Coventry/Bedworth Urban Area or Coventry Built-up area as defined by the Office for National Statistics had a population of 359,252 at the 2011 census, which made it the 16th largest conurbation in England and Wales by population. It is also one of the most densely populated. In the 2021 census the population of the urban area was recorded at 389,603.

Webster's Claypit (grid reference SP340805) is a 0.3 hectare (0.8 acre) geological site of Special Scientific Interest in the West Midlands. The site was notified in 1986 under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 and is currently managed by the Country Trust.

The Morris Motors Ground was a cricket ground in Coventry, Warwickshire. The ground was owned by Morris Motors LImited, which operated in Coventry. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1931, when Warwickshire played Northamptonshire, which was also the first first-class match held at the ground. The following season the ground held its second and final first-class match, which was between Warwickshire and Leicestershire.Additionally, the ground held a single Minor Counties Championship match when the Warwickshire Second XI played Durham in 1932. Located along Bell Green Road, today the ground is covered by housing.

Primrose Hill Park is a public park in the Hillfields district of Coventry.

Highfield Road was a football stadium in the city of Coventry, England. It was the home ground for Coventry City F.C. for 106 years.

Hillfields is a suburb of Coventry in the West Midlands of England. It is situated north of Coventry city centre, and has undergone a series of name changes throughout its history originally called "Harnall" and has seen itself change from a village, to a remote suburb, to a large postwar redevelopment zone. Hillfields has always welcomed immigrants of all nationalities. Originally the Irish communities and then the Indian-sub continent and West Indian communities settled in the mid 20th century. The area declined in the early 90s however in recent times a wave of new immigrants from Northern Iraq (Kurdistan) Iran as well as various people's from Africa have settled and have invested into the area and now the area is a lively neighbourhood bustling with shops and restaurants selling intercontinental produce and cuisine. Hillfields used to be home to Coventry City Football Club on Highfield Road until the club relocated to the Ricoh Arena. Hillfields is also home to Sidney Stringer Academy. The area includes Primrose Hill Park.

Courtaulds Ground was a cricket ground in Coventry, Warwickshire. The ground was owned by Courtaulds. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1949, when it hosted its first first-class match between Warwickshire and Hampshire in the County Championship. From 1949 to 1982, the ground played host to 56 first-class matches, the last of which was between Warwickshire and Middlesex.The ground also hosted List-A matches, the first of which was between Warwickshire and Leicestershire in the 1972 Benson and Hedges Cup. From 1972 to 1983, the ground held 8 List-A matches, the last of which was between Warwickshire and Derbyshire in the 1983 John Player Special League.Today the ground is no longer used for cricket and is in a desperate state of disrepair. The pavilion, built at a cost of £15,000 in 1935, is itself derelict and the outfield overgrown.

Little Heath is an area of Coventry, in the county of West Midlands, in England. Most of the Little Heath area is in the Longford ward of the city. Little Heath mainly consists of the following residential streets: Gayer Street, Thomas Lane Street, Partridge Croft, Quilletts Close, part of Proffitt Avenue and most of Old Church Road. It also contains a former Courtaulds factory, which is currently being demolished, and Little Heath Industrial Estate. The Coventry Canal passes through the area. Little Heath is within walking distance of the Arena Park Tesco Superstore, and close to the Foleshill fire station. The Royal Hotel is situated on Old Church Road by the canal bridge and is the only public house in the area. Most of the area's terraced properties were built around 1910–1930, and Little Heath is served by a primary school of the same name. Also in the area is Good Shepherd Roman Catholic (RC) Primary School, which shares its sports field with Little Heath Primary School. The Catholic parish church for Good Shepherd Primary School is St. Elizabeth's RC Church in Edgwick. The Church of England (C of E) church for Little Heath is St Laurence's, which has a church hall also used for groups such as the Brownies and Girl Guides. At the top end of Old Church Road there is another school - St Laurence's C of E Primary School, which was previously known as Foleshill C of E Primary school - which is not actually in modern-day Foleshill, but is so-named due to the historical placement of the Church within the estate of Foleshill, first mentioned in 1086, as an estate owned by Lady Godiva. The canal towpath can be accessed from the Old Church Road canal bridge. Shops in Proffitt Avenue include a betting shop, a Chinese takeaway, a beauty salon, a hairdresser and a newsagent.
