Mandau

Porajów [pɔˈrajuf] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Bogatynia, within Zgorzelec County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland, close to the Czech and German borders.It lies approximately 11 kilometres (7 mi) west of Bogatynia, 32 kilometres (20 mi) south-west of Zgorzelec, and 157 kilometres (98 mi) west of the regional capital Wrocław. The village lies on a railway line and road running from Zittau in Germany to Hrádek nad Nisou village in Liberec district in the Czech Republic; however the trains do not stop on Polish territory. There is a historic railway viaduct connecting Porajów with Zittau. There is also a Catholic church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the village. The village was first mentioned in the 14th century, it was since ruled by local Polish dukes of the Piast dynasty, Bohemian and Hungarian kings, Saxon electors and Polish kings, and from 1871 to 1945 it was part of Germany. From 1920 to 1945 it was located within the city limits of nearby Zittau, before it became a separate village again, as part of post-World War II Poland.

The Kreuzkirche Zittau is a former church in Zittau, Saxony, Germany. The Gothic hall church, which has an unusual architecture, was used for funerals. It is now a museum, dedicated primarily to the presentation of a medieval textile, the Großes Zittauer Fastentuch.

Sieniawka [ɕɛˈɲafka] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Bogatynia, within Zgorzelec County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland, close to the Czech and German borders.It lies approximately 10 kilometres (6 mi) west of Bogatynia, 31 kilometres (19 mi) south of Zgorzelec, and 156 kilometres (97 mi) west of the regional capital Wrocław. In the village there are two historic churches: the Immaculate Conception church and the Saint John the Baptist church. Also a hospital for the mentally ill is located in Sieniawka. During World War II, in 1944–1945, the Germans operated the FAL Zittau subcamp of the Gross-Rosen concentration camp in the village, whose prisoners were Jews, initially only women, and from February 1945 also men.

Zittau (Upper Sorbian: Žitawa [ˈʒitawa]; Lower Sorbian: Žytawa [ˈʒɨtawa]; Polish: Żytawa; Czech: Žitava; Upper Lusatian dialect: Sitte) is the southeasternmost city in the German state of Saxony, and is located in the district of Görlitz, Germany's easternmost district. It has a population of around 25,000, and is one of the most important cities in the region of Lusatia (Upper Lusatia). The inner city of Zittau still shows its original beauty with many houses from several architectural periods: the famous town hall built in an Italian style, the church of St John and the stables (Salzhaus) with its medieval heritage. This multi-storied building is one of the oldest of its kind in Germany. Zittau is the birthplace of the German composer Heinrich Marschner.

The Neisse University is a trinational academic network held by the cooperating partners University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz, Technical University of Liberec and Wroclaw University of Technology. Zittau station (German: Bahnhof Zittau) is a railway station in Zittau, Germany. The station is located on the Liberec–Zittau, Zittau–Löbau and Zittau–Hagenwerder standard gauge lines as well as it is one terminus of narrow gauge Zittau–Kurort Oybin/Kurort Jonsdorf railway. Until 1945 narrow gauge Zittau–Hermsdorf railway to today's Bogatynia in Poland and Heřmanice in the Czech Republic also began at Zittau station. The standard gauge parts of the station are operated by DB Station&Service (platforms) and DB Netz (tracks), narrow gauge parts by Saxon-Upper Lusatian Railway Company.

Neighboring districts were the district Bautzen in the north-west and the Niederschlesischer Oberlausitzkreis in the north. To the east was Poland, and to the south the Czech Republic.

The Zittau–Oybin/Jonsdorf railway, or Zittau–Kurort Oybin/Kurort Jonsdorf narrow-gauge railway (German: Schmalspurbahn Zittau–Kurort Oybin/Kurort Jonsdorf), is a narrow-gauge railway system employing steam locomotives and serving the mountain health-spa resorts (German: Kurorte) of Oybin and Jonsdorf in the Zittau Mountains in southeast Saxony (Germany). The track gauge is 750 mm (2 ft 5+1⁄2 in).

Hrádek nad Nisou (Czech pronunciation: [ˈɦraːdɛk ˈnad ɲɪsou]; German: Grottau, Polish: Gródek nad Nysą) is a town in Liberec District in the Liberec Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 7,900 inhabitants. The historic town centre is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone.

The Wittgendorfer Wasser is a river of Saxony, Germany. It flows into the Lusatian Neisse near Hirschfelde.
