Elwood College

Elwood is an inner suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 8 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Port Phillip local government area. Elwood recorded a population of 15,153 at the 2021 census.Elwood Beach is a popular bayside beach destination during summer, where the beaches are used recreationally for windsurfing, cycling, cricket and walking. The suburb is known for its mix of Edwardian and Interwar architecture character, its beaches and its leafy streets, many of which are lined by London Plane trees.

Elsternwick Park (currently known by its sponsored name Sportscover Arena) is an Australian rules football and cricket stadium in Brighton, a suburb of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia. The name also refers to the wider parkland in which the main oval is located. The ground is the administrative and primary central playing base of the Victorian Amateur Football Association.

The Elwood Talmud Torah Hebrew Congregation (Hebrew: ק"ק בית אברהם), also known as Elwood Synagogue or Elwood Shule, is a historically significant Orthodox synagogue located in the Melbourne suburb of Elwood, Victoria, Australia. The congregation played an important role in accommodating Melbourne's large population of Jewish Holocaust survivors following World War II.

St Kilda Botanical Gardens are a botanical garden located in the suburb St Kilda, Victoria, Australia. Located on the former site of a gravel pit and rubbish dump, they were formally gazetted on 28 September 1859 and opened in 1861. In October 2010 City of Port Phillip provided funds for the design of four distinctive new gates, to celebrate the gardens' 150th anniversary. The gates were installed on Tennyson, Dickens and Herbert Streets. They were designed and sculpted by designer/blacksmith David Wood of Bent Metal.In 1948 the Alister Clark Memorial Rose Garden was opened; in 1985 it was redesigned in its current style. At one time the Alister Clark garden contained a large selection of roses bred by him, but only a few remain, crowded out by David Austin ones. This garden should not be confused with the comprehensive Alister Clark Memorial Rose Garden at Bulla, north of Melbourne.The ornamental pond near the sub-tropical rainforest conservatory is being refurbished. At the same time, St Kilda Rain Man, designed by Corey Thomas and Ken Arnold and installed in 2005 will be repaired. Rain Man fountain is solar powered and uses recycled water from the pond below.

Ripponlea railway station is located on the Sandringham line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of Ripponlea, and opened on 1 May 1912.The station is located at the up (northern) end of the Glen Eira Road level crossing, with station access from Glen Eira Road, Oak Grove and Morres Street.

Balaclava is an inner suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 7 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Port Phillip local government area. Balaclava recorded a population of 5,392 at the 2021 census.Balaclava is located in the south-east of the city, in the St Kilda East area and is bounded by Inkerman Street to the north, Chapel Street to the west, Hotham Street to the east and Oak Grove and Los Angeles Court to the south. In terms of its cadastral division, Balaclava is in the parish of Prahran, within the County of Bourke The suburb was named after the Battle of Balaclava that took place on 25 October 1854, during the Crimean War. Well known television celebrity Graham Kennedy spent part of his childhood in the Balaclava area. After his death, the local council placed a commemorative plaque on the house in which he lived. Balaclava is home to much of Melbourne's Orthodox Jewish Community, consisting of both Hasidim and non-Hasidim (Mitnagdim or Yeshivish) Jews. Within its confines are a number of kosher restaurants and shops that cater to the local and broader Melbourne Haredi communities.

Glen Huntly Road is a main road in Melbourne, Victoria. It starts at Beach Road, Elwood, runs east–west through Elsternwick, Caulfield, Glen Huntly and ends in Carnegie. Glen Huntly Road was named after the emigrant ship Glen Huntley from Greenock, Scotland, which landed in Hobsons Bay in Melbourne on 17 April 1840. Many of its passengers had died from fever and were buried in the St Kilda Cemetery.Glen Huntly Road crosses two railway lines; the Sandringham line at Elsternwick station and the Frankston line at Glenhuntly station. Originally both were crossed by level crossing, however the former was eliminated in a grade separation project in October 1960, with the railway lines lowered below the road and a new station built.Until recently the road was spelt "Glenhuntly Road" until it was officially changed to the present spelling.Elsternwick shopping centre can be found on Glen Huntly Road. It is a strip shopping centre that offers restaurants, fashion outlets and other shops. Tram route 67 traverses Glen Huntly Road from the Nepean Highway to Carnegie. Glenhuntly tram depot is located on Glen Huntly Road.

Lentil As Anything Inc. (Lentil) was a group of pay as you feel, not for profit vegetarian and vegan Australian restaurants founded by Shanaka Fernando. Restaurants were located in Melbourne and Sydney and operated on a similar model to pay what you can. The operation closed in February 2022 due to financial concerns and allegations of mismanagement. Lentil is named after the Australian new wave band Mental As Anything.

Attica is a fine-dining restaurant in Melbourne, Australia, owned and operated by Ben Shewry. It has won several awards in Australia, and has been included in The World's 50 Best Restaurants since 2010. Its current position on the list places it as the top restaurant in Australia. The restaurant was opened by Dr David Maccora (an emergency doctor at Malvern's Cabrini Hospital) and his wife Helen, in a converted suburban bank building. After two chefs failed to attract sufficient patronage at the restaurant the Maccoras employed Ben Shewry (formerly at St Kilda's Circa) in 2005, giving him full creative control of the menu. In January 2015 the Maccoras sold the restaurant to Shewry.

St Kilda Town Hall is a grand, classically styled city hall, located on the corner of Brighton Road and Carlisle Street in St Kilda, Victoria, Australia. The first stage, never completed, was built as the municipal offices and public hall for the former City of St Kilda in 1890. Many additions, internal alterations, and changes in appearance were made in the early and mid 20th century, while serving as the municipal and social heart of St Kilda. A devastating fire in 1991 seriously affected the art collection and burnt out the hall itself, and was followed by a prize winning refurbishment and further extension. After Council amalgamations in 1994, it became the base for the larger City of Port Phillip, and further extensions and renovations have occurred. The hall within remains popular for numerous social events, meetings and performances, a role it has served for over 120 years.

Ripponlea recorded a population of 1,532 at the 2021 census.Named after the adjoining Rippon Lea Estate, Ripponlea is centred on the intersection of Glen Eira Road and Hotham Street. In terms of its cadastral division, Ripponlea is in the Parish of Prahran, within the County of Bourke.

Rippon Lea Estate is a heritage-listed historic house and gardens located in Elsternwick, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is in the care of the National Trust of Australia. It was added to the Australian National Heritage List on 11 August 2006.
