KSAN (107.7 MHz, "107.7 The Bone") is a commercial FM radio station licensed to San Mateo, California, and serving the San Francisco Bay Area. It is owned and operated by Cumulus Media and it airs a classic rock radio format. It also serves as the FM flagship station for the San Francisco 49ers Radio Network. KSAN's studios and offices are located on Battery Street in San Francisco's SoMa district.KSAN has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 8,900 watts. Its transmitter is off Radio Road on San Bruno Mountain in Brisbane, California. KSAN broadcasts in the HD Radio hybrid format.

KQED-FM (88.5 FM) is a NPR-member radio station in San Francisco, California. Its parent organization is KQED Inc., which also owns its television partners, both of which are PBS member outlets: KQED (channel 9) and KQEH (channel 54). Studio operations for all three are located on Mariposa Drive in the Mission District of San Francisco, while its transmitter is located atop San Bruno Mountain.

KIOI (101.3 FM, "Star 101.3") is a hot adult contemporary-formatted radio station licensed to San Francisco, California and owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. The radio studios and offices are in the SoMa district of San Francisco. KIOI has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 125,000 watts. It is considered a "superpower station" due to this unusually high wattage that is grandfathered into KIOI's license. It is one of two stations in San Francisco broadcasting with more than 100,000 watts, the other being KQED-FM, at 110,000 watts. KIOI's transmitter is on Radio Road in Daly City, amid the towers for other San Francisco-area FM and TV stations. It also has booster stations on 101.3 MHz in Walnut Creek and Pleasanton.

KMEL (106.1 FM) is an urban contemporary radio station that is licensed to San Francisco, California, and serving the San Francisco Bay Area. It is owned and operated by iHeartMedia. KMEL has studios located in the SoMa district, and broadcasts a "superpower" Class B signal of 69,000 watts from a transmitter atop the San Bruno Mountains south of San Francisco. The station's powerful signal is heard all over the Bay Area and covers areas as far north as Santa Rosa and as far south as the Santa Cruz Mountains. It is currently one of the highest-rated stations in the San Francisco Bay Area, with the largest listening audience in the males 18-to-34 year-old demographic.

San Bruno Mountain is located in northern San Mateo County, California, with some slopes of the mountain crossing over into southern San Francisco. It is near the southern boundary of San Francisco, surrounded by the cities of Brisbane, Colma, Daly City, and South San Francisco. San Bruno Mountain is topped by a four mile long ridge. Trails to the summit afford expansive views of the San Francisco Bay Area. Radio Peak (elevation 1,319 feet or 402 meters) is the highest point, with several radio/TV broadcast towers, serving a large area that would otherwise have poor service in the hilly Bay Area region. Most of the mountain lies within the 2,326-acre (941 ha) San Bruno Mountain State Park. Next to the state park is the 83-acre (34 ha) state San Bruno Mountain Ecological Reserve on the north slope. The distinct geology and weather of San Bruno Mountain set it apart from many other California coastal areas. The mountain provides habitat for several species of rare and endangered plants and butterflies. The endangered San Bruno elfin butterfly inhabits this mountain and a few other locations.

KMVQ-FM (99.7 MHz) is a commercial radio station licensed to San Francisco, California. It is owned by Salt Lake City–based Bonneville International and it broadcasts a Top 40/CHR format branded as 99.7 Now. The studios are at 2001 Junipero Serra Boulevard in Daly City. KMVQ is one of two Top 40/CHR stations in the San Francisco, the other being iHeartMedia's KYLD. KMVQ-FM has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 40,000 watts. The transmitter is along Radio Road on San Bruno Mountain in Brisbane. KMVQ broadcasts using HD Radio technology. Its HD2 digital subchannel airs a Dance/EDM format.

KOFY-TV (channel 20) is a television station licensed to San Francisco, California, United States, serving the San Francisco Bay Area as an affiliate of the Grit network. It is owned by CNZ Communications, LLC, alongside Class A station KCNZ-CD (virtual channel 28) and low-power station KQRM-LD (virtual channel 18). The three stations share transmitter facilities atop San Bruno Mountain. KOFY-TV's studios were previously located on Marin Street in the Bayview–Hunters Point neighborhood of San Francisco until 2018; the station has since maintained space at KGO-TV's studios north of the city's Financial District. The station's signal is relayed on low-power digital translator station K27EE-D in Ukiah.

KCNZ-CD, virtual channel 28 (UHF digital channel 21), is a low-powered, Class A LATV-affiliated television station licensed to San Francisco, California, United States and serving the San Francisco Bay Area. Owned by CNZ Communications, LLC, it is sister to independent station KOFY-TV (channel 20) and low-power station KQRM-LD. The three stations share transmitter facilities atop San Bruno Mountain.

KKPX-TV, virtual channel 65 (UHF digital channel 33), is an Ion Television owned-and-operated station licensed to San Jose, California, United States and serving the San Francisco Bay Area. The station is owned by the Ion Media subsidiary of the Cincinnati-based E. W. Scripps Company. KKPX-TV's offices are located on Price Avenue in Redwood City, and its transmitter is located atop San Bruno Mountain.

KRZZ is a commercial radio station located in San Francisco, California, broadcasting to the San Francisco Bay Area on 93.3 FM. KRZZ airs a regional Mexican music format branded as "La Raza". The station's studios are located in San Jose just north of downtown, and the transmitter is located in the San Bruno Mountains.

KNTV (channel 11), branded as NBC Bay Area, is a television station licensed to San Jose, California, United States, broadcasting NBC programming to the San Francisco Bay Area. It is owned and operated by the network's NBC Owned Television Stations division alongside Telemundo outlet KSTS (channel 48); it is also sister to regional sports networks NBC Sports Bay Area and NBC Sports California. KNTV and KSTS share studios on North 1st Street in the North San Jose Innovation District; KNTV's transmitter is located on San Bruno Mountain. KNTV was established as an independent station in 1955; in 1960, it became an affiliate of ABC as the affiliate of record for Salinas and Monterey, otherwise a separate market. Even though San Francisco had its own ABC television station, KGO-TV, KNTV focused its news and other programming on the Santa Clara Valley. In 1999, ABC paid KNTV to end its affiliation in 2000 in order to allow KGO-TV to serve as the only source of ABC programming in the San Jose area. The station operated as an independent for a year and a half before securing a 10-year affiliation with NBC and then being sold to the network outright. Local news covering the entire Bay Area is produced from the San Jose studios.

San Bruno Mountain State Park, officially San Bruno Mountain State and County Park is a park located in northern San Mateo County, California. It is adjacent to the southern boundary of San Francisco and borders the cities of Brisbane, South San Francisco, Colma and Daly City. San Bruno Mountain State Park is a landmark of local and regional significance, standing as a unique open-space island in the midst of the peninsula's urbanization at the northern end of the Santa Cruz Mountain Range. The park is dominated by San Bruno Mountain which is a 4 miles (6.4 km) ridge. The park provides habitat for several species of rare and endangered plants and butterflies, including the Mission blue butterfly. Trails to the summit afford views of San Francisco and the Bay Area.
