Seneca Gardens is a home rule-class city in Jefferson County, Kentucky, United States, and a part of the Louisville Metro government. With the single exception of the Keneseth Israel Synagogue, all buildings within city limits are residential. The population was 696 as of the 2010 census.

Keneseth Israel is a Conservative synagogue located at 2531 Taylorsville Road, Louisville, Kentucky, in the United States. The congregation's original synagogue building was constructed in Louisville in 1928. It was designed by Joseph & Joseph and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The original synagogue building suffered extensive damage in a fire in 2021 and after a structural assessment, was demolished.

Seneca Park was the last park designed by Frederick Law Olmsted's firm in Louisville, Kentucky, United States. The park system in Louisville was the last of five designed by the Olmsted firm. The park resides in the Louisville neighborhood of Seneca Gardens, Kentucky. The park has been updated over the years to include restrooms and playground equipment that supplements a myriad of trails for people or horses.According to The Trust for Public Land, Seneca Park has 500,000 visitors annually, making it tied for the 69th most popular municipal park in the United States.A notable feature of the park's design lies in its location in reference to other parks. As a part of the Louisville Olmsted park system, it is connected to other parks built by the firm, most notably Cherokee Park. This connections can be seen by the parks’ close proximities of one another, and they are easily accessible from another. The park is also located nearby many neighborhoods, likely contributing to the vast number of visitors it sees every year.

Kingsley is a home rule-class city in Jefferson County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 381 as of the 2010 census, down from 428 at the 2000 census. It is a suburb of Louisville.

Bowman Field (IATA: LOU, ICAO: KLOU, FAA LID: LOU) is a public airport five miles (8.0 km) southeast of downtown Louisville, in Jefferson County, Kentucky. The airport covers 426 acres (172 ha) and has two runways. The FAA calls it a reliever airport for nearby Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport.

Strathmoor Village is a home rule-class city in Jefferson County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 648 at the 2010 census.

Highlands–Douglass is a neighborhood five miles (8 km) southeast of downtown Louisville, Kentucky, United States. The neighborhood is bound by Bardstown Road, Speed Avenue, Taylorsville Road, and Cherokee Park. It is considered a part of a larger area of Louisville called The Highlands. It is often simply called Douglass.

Hawthorne is a neighborhood in eastern Louisville, Kentucky, United States. Its boundaries are Taylorsville Road, Hawthorne Avenue, Bardstown Road and I-264. The land was once part of John Speed's Farmington estate, known for its plantation house built around 1815–16. The neighborhood is primarily residential and was first subdivided in 1909, but saw its fastest grown in the 1920s. It takes its name from Hawthorne Avenue, and most of the other streets are named after writers or poets. Sullivan University is located in the neighborhood. Hawthorne surrounds the small city of Wellington, Kentucky.

Wellington is a home rule-class city in metro Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky, United States. It is considered to be part of the Upper Highlands section of Louisville. It was incorporated in 1946. The population was 565 at the 2010 census.

Cherokee-Seneca is a neighborhood in Louisville, Kentucky, United States. It is bounded by I-64 and other neighborhoods, and includes the two large parks Cherokee Park and Seneca Park, as well as the homes built around those parks. The area is hilly, consisting of ridges around the middle fork of Beargrass Creek. It is home to the former Gardencourt Mansion, now part of the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. The Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary relocated to the area. There are also mansions off Alta Vista built by some of Louisville's wealthiest families in the early 20th century. Gardencourt is a 20-room Beaux-Arts style mansion, completed in 1906. A carriage house and greenhouse were built in 1907 on the 14-acre (57,000 m2) property, which was landscaped by the Olmsted Brothers firm. The mansion was built by the daughters of George W. Norton, and was donated to the University of Louisville in 1946 for its School of Music. The Emily A. Davison recital hall was built in 1962, hosting performers including Igor Stravinsky and Aaron Copland, although the school of music moved to the Shelby Campus in 1969. The property was eventually sold to the seminary in 1987 and is now used as classrooms and meeting halls. Another mansion is Rostrevor, a 23-room Italian Renaissance home built in 1908 put on the market in 2006 for $7.5 million - the highest publicly advertised price ever for a private residence in Jefferson County.

Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, also referred to as Louisville Seminary, is a seminary affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA), located in Louisville, Kentucky. It is one of ten PC (USA) seminaries, and it identifies as an ecumenical seminary, with recent student enrollment representing many faith traditions.Though now located in Louisville, it was founded in 1853 in Danville, Kentucky (the site is now Centre College) and was known as the Danville Theological Seminary. Though it thrived in its early years, the Civil War took a great toll and by 1870 there were only six students enrolled, and as few as one professor at times, requiring classes to be taught by the faculty of Centre College. The seminary is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools as well as the Association of Theological Schools. The Seminary is located on land adjacent to the Cherokee-Seneca Parks designed by Frederick Law Olmsted. The central quad includes Nelson Hall (which houses the Counseling Center), Caldwell Chapel, the library, and a student building. The Seminary offers multiple degree programs including Doctor of Ministry, Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy, Masters of Arts in Religion, and Masters of Divinity.
