Hansberry College Prep, formerly known as "Noble Auburn Gresham College Prep", is a public four-year charter high school located in the Auburn Gresham in Chicago, Illinois, United States. It is a part of the Noble Network of Charter Schools. Hansberry College Prep opened in 2012 as Noble Auburn Gresham College Prep in recognition of the neighborhood in which the school resides. In July 2013, the campus changed its name to Hansberry College Prep in honor of Lorraine Hansberry. The school currently serves grades nine through twelve and graduated its first class in 2016. In 2014, HCP was officially authorized as an IB World school.

Neal F. Simeon Career Academy (formerly known as Westcott Vocational High School, Neal F. Simeon Vocational High School, Neal F. Simeon Career Technical Academy), locally known simply as Simeon, is a public four-year vocational high school located in the Chatham area on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois, United States. Simeon is a part of the Chicago Public Schools district. Opened in 1949, The school is named for African-American Chicago Public Schools educator and administrator Neal Ferdinand Simeon.

Auburn Park is a planned railroad station on the South Side of Chicago serving Metra's Rock Island District. It will be located on the southeast corner of 79th Street and South Lowe Avenue.

The Brainerd Bungalow Historic District is a residential historic district in the Brainerd neighborhood of the Washington Heights community area of Chicago, Illinois. The district includes 527 Chicago bungalows built between 1915 and 1931 and a small number of other residential buildings. Brainerd, an outlying neighborhood of Chicago, was developed in the 1910s and 1920s as the increasing accessibility of homeownership spurred new home construction in underpopulated areas of the city. As bungalows were affordable to construct, they became popular in newly developed neighborhoods, and tens of thousands of them were built throughout the city. While 42 different architects designed Brainerd's bungalows, the neighborhood has a consistent appearance nonetheless, as the affordability of bungalows came in part from how easy the design was to duplicate; however, architects used color and detail work to give each home a unique design.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 27, 2016.

Brainerd is a station on Metra's Rock Island District line in the Washington Heights community area of Chicago, Illinois. The address is 8901 South Loomis Boulevard, but the station is actually in the middle of 89th Street from Loomis Boulevard to Bishop Street, 10.6 miles (17.1 km) from LaSalle Street Station, the northern terminus of the Rock Island District. In Metra's zone-based fare system, Brainerd is within zone C. As of 2018, Brainerd is the 151st busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 265 weekday boardings. It consists of two side platforms that serve two tracks. A shelter is available, but there is no ticket agent. Parking is available along the station on 89th Street. As of 2022, Brainerd is served by 40 trains (20 in each direction) on weekdays, by 21 trains (10 inbound, 11 outbound) on Saturdays, and by 16 trains (eight in each direction) on Sundays and holidays.

Auburn Gresham, most commonly referred to simply as Gresham, is one of the 77 official community areas of the city of Chicago, Illinois. It is located on the far south side of the city and was the original location of the South Side Irish Parade before it was relocated to the adjoining Beverly neighborhood immediately southwest.

Carter G. Woodson Regional Library is one of two regional libraries in the Chicago Public Library system in Chicago, in the U.S. state of Illinois, serving as the hub for the approximately 24 branch libraries of the South District. It is named for Carter Woodson, founder of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History. The library is in Chicago's Washington Heights neighborhood at 9525 S. Halsted St. It is a full service library and is ADA compliant. As with all libraries in the Chicago Public Library system, it has free Wi-Fi internet service.

95th Street–Longwood Manor station is a commuter railroad station on Metra's Rock Island District line in the Longwood Manor neighborhood of the Washington Heights section of Chicago, Illinois, at 9501 South Vincennes Avenue at the corner of 95th Street (US 12-20). It is 10.9 miles (17.5 km) from LaSalle Street Station, the northern terminus of the line. In Metra's zone-based fare system, Longwood is in zone C. As of 2018, 95th Street–Longwood is the 204th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 64 weekday boardings.As of 2022, 95th–Longwood Manor is served by 17 trains (eight inbound, nine outbound) on weekdays. It is served during peak hours only, although it does get served by some reverse peak trains. The station is little more than an open acrylic glass shelter and is used only during rush hours. Regular service with more frequent trains is at 95th Street–Beverly Hills station on the Suburban Branch west of this station. Parking is available south of 95th Street along Vincennes Avenue, and east of the station along Genoa Avenue, also off of 95th Street.

Lowden Homes is a Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) public housing project located in the Princeton Park neighborhood on the far South Side of Chicago, Illinois, United States. It is bordered by 91st and 95th Streets, Wentworth, and Eggleston Avenues.

The West Chatham Bungalow Historic District is a residential historic district in the Chatham neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The district includes 283 Chicago bungalows built between 1913 and 1930 along with a smaller number of other residential buildings. As Chicago grew in the early 20th century and homeownership became more accessible, the bungalow arose as a popular and affordable house design, and tens of thousands of them were built in the city. Chatham, an outlying neighborhood on the city's South Side, benefited from this housing boom, as its transit connections made the area an attractive choice for new housing. The West Chatham bungalows are all brick and feature similar designs, giving the neighborhood a uniform appearance; however, decorative features such as patterned brickwork provide diversity among the homes.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 19, 2010.

Trinity United Church of Christ is a predominantly African-American megachurch with more than 8,500 members. It is located in the Washington Heights community on the South Side of Chicago. It is the largest church affiliated with the United Church of Christ, a predominantly white Christian denomination with roots in Congregationalism, which historically branched from early American Puritanism.The church's early history coincided with the American civil rights movement, subsequent murder of Martin Luther King Jr., and the tumultuous period that engulfed the civil rights movement after King's death due to intense competition among actors over who would carry King's mantle. During that tumultuous period, an influx of radical black Muslim groups had begun to headquarter in Chicago, and Trinity sought to recontextualize Christianity through black theology in order to counter the influence of radical black Muslim leaders, who taught that it was impossible to be both black and Christian.In early 2008, as part of their presidential election coverage, news media outlets and political commentators brought Trinity to national attention when controversial excerpts of sermons by the church's longtime former pastor Jeremiah Wright were broadcast to highlight Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's pastoral relationship with Wright and the church. Obama responded with a speech, A More Perfect Union, which addressed the criticisms and largely alleviated them from popular political criticisms at the time.Trinity is best known today for its national and international social programs on behalf of the disadvantaged, although in its earliest days such outreach did not figure into its mission.

87th is an 'L' station on the Chicago Transit Authority's Red Line. The station is located in the median of the Dan Ryan Expressway and serves the Chatham neighborhood. There are two entrances to the station, one on the south side of the 87th Street overpass which served as the only entrance from 1969 until 2006 and one on the north side of the overpass which was opened as part of the Dan Ryan Red Line Rehabilitation Project.
