North Central State College

The Ohio State University at Mansfield is a satellite campus of Ohio State University in Mansfield, Ohio. It was founded in 1958 as a land-grant college and occupies a 644-acre (2.61 km2) campus that is shared with North Central State College. The campus offers ten bachelor's degree programs and graduate-level coursework in education. The campus practices open admissions. Students can start at Mansfield and finish their degrees at The Ohio State University, Columbus, with one or more of Ohio State’s 200+ majors. The Bromfield Library of the Ohio State Mansfield campus provides access to all the resources of the Ohio State University and Ohio Link.

It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.The CDP is in central Richland County, in northwestern Madison Township. It is bordered to the east, south, and part of the west by the city of Mansfield. Ohio State Route 39 (Springmill Road) runs through the CDP, leading southeast into Mansfield and northwest 9 miles (14 km) to Shelby.

Ontario is a city in Richland County in the U.S. state of Ohio. It was founded in 1834 on the western edge of the Allegheny Plateau, just west of the city of Mansfield. After being incorporated in 1958, Ontario became a heavy manufacturing center because of the Erie Railroad line, and its proximity to Mansfield. However, its status in that regard began to decline in the late 20th century, when much of the Erie Railroad that once ran through the city was abandoned; and shifts in the manufacturing industry led to the relocation or repositioning of many factories. The city's industry has since diversified into the service economy, including education, finance and healthcare. The city is also a major regional retail hub serving the entire North-Central Ohio area, with a shopping population of over 150,000. As of the 2020 Census, the city had a population of 6,656. It is part of the Mansfield, Ohio Metropolitan Statistical Area.

As of the 2020 census, the MSA had a population of 124,936. The MSA forms the eastern half of the Mansfield–Ashland–Bucyrus, OH CSA.

The stations share studios on Park Avenue West in Ontario, Ohio (with a Mansfield mailing address), where WMFD-TV's transmitter is also located. WMFD-TV is available on digital cable systems in the North-Central Ohio area and seen in the Cleveland market via Spectrum cable, DirecTV and Dish Network.

The Kingwood Center Gardens is a historic 47-acre (190,000 m2) site with a house, Kingwood Hall, gardens and greenhouses located in Mansfield, Ohio. Mr. Charles Kelley King began making his fortune when he was hired by the Ohio Brass Company as its first electrical engineer in 1893. He led Ohio Brass into new ventures, particularly the manufacture of electrical fittings for railroads and trolleys. Mr. King was responsible for much of the company's success and he eventually became president and chairman of the Board of Ohio Brass. Mr. King was married and divorced twice, and had no children. The house and grounds were built in 1926 for King and his second wife, Luise, with grounds designed by Cleveland landscape architecture firm Pitkin and Mott. One year after his death in 1952, the 47-acre estate opened as a public garden to a private foundation that continues to operate Kingwood Center today. On November 7, 1976, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Mansfield Senior High School is located in Mansfield, Ohio, United States. The school serves grades 9-12 and is part of the Mansfield City School District. The school enrolls 755 students as of the 2021–2022 academic year. Their nickname is the Tygers. Mansfield's original school colors were red and white. When crosstown Malabar High School was merged into Mansfield Senior following the 1988-1989 school year, the Tygers kept part of the Falcons' legacy alive by adopting their school colors of orange and brown.
