WWT Llanelli Wetlands Centre

Trostre Steelworks is a tinplate manufacturing facility located in Pemberton, Carmarthenshire, just outside Llanelli, West Wales. Planned by the Steel Company of Wales in 1947, today it is part of Tata Steel Europe's infrastructure.

Parc y Scarlets (Welsh pronunciation: [ˈpark ə ˈskarlɛts], meaning: Scarlets Park) is a rugby union stadium in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, that opened in November 2008 as the new home of the Scarlets and Llanelli RFC. The ground replaced Stradey Park, the home of Llanelli's rugby teams for almost 130 years. The stadium complex includes facilities for matchday supporters and for non-matchday revenue generation, as well as a training barn and a training pitch with athletics track. The stadium also occasionally hosts some matches of the Wales national under-21 and senior football teams, as well as Llanelli Town A.F.C.'s matches in European competitions. Swansea City A.F.C. Reserve Team played all of their home fixtures at the stadium in the 2011/2012 season. In 2020 the venue was used for Wales home games during the Autumn Nations Cup due to the Millennium Stadium being used as a backup Covid venue to Dragon's Heart hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Llwynhendy (sometimes spelled Llwyn-Hendy), is a village and ward near the town of Llanelli in Carmarthenshire, Wales. The ward, which includes the village, as well as Cefncaeau, parts of Cwmcarnhywel and parts of Bryn and Penceilogi, had a population of 4,276. It is bordered by Bynea, Cwmcarnhywel, Cefncaeau and Pen-y-graig. It is an old village with strong industrial roots. The (now closed) steel-works in nearby Bynea was a major employer until the decline of the steel industry. The village is 50 ft above sea level and is based around the Nant Caerhuan that finds its source in nearby Gelli Farm, Bryn, Llanelli. The nearby Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust site in the old Penclacwydd farm near the village is the only wetland wildlife trust centre in the whole of Wales.

Cwmcarnhywel is a village in between Llwynhendy, Pemberton, Penceilogi and Bryn in Llanelli. The village is home to a row of shops; The Avenue, Ysgol Gymraeg Brynsierfel (the area's Welsh school) and became a village after the council estate was built in the 1950s. Before that, Cwm-Carn-Hywel was the name given to a small hamlet near Pemberton. It also has its own police station which is named Llwynhendy police station as it is in the Llwynhendy electoral ward for Carmarthenshire County Council and Dyfed-Powys Police.

Parc Trostre is a retail park in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, Wales. The first phase of the development occurred in 1988, consisting of stores such as Tesco. In September 2008, the growing popularity of the retail park led Llanelli Town Council to express concern at the increasing adverse impact which the continued expansion of Parc Trostre is having on Llanelli town centre.

Llanelli Rural (Welsh: Llanelli Gwledig) is a community in the southeast of Carmarthenshire, Wales.

Pemberton is an area situated east of Llanelli in Carmarthenshire, Wales. It is part of the Llanelli Rural (Welsh-Llanelli Wledig) community bordering Llanelli and the villages of Cwmcarnhywel, Dafen, Cefncaeau and the outskirts of Llanelli town.

Penceilogi is a small village on the northern outskirts of Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, Wales. It is bordered by Bryn to the east, Dafen to the north-west, Pemberton to the west and Cwmcarnhywel to the south.

Pen-y-graig, also spelled Penygraig (), is an area of Llanelli, in Carmarthenshire, Wales, bordering with Bynea, Llwynhendy, and Bryn all of which are in the Llanelli Rural district of Llanelli. It is 100 feet (30 m) above sea level and overlooking the Loughor estuary. Welsh is the main language of the area where most of the children either attend the Welsh school in Cwmcarnhywel -Ysgol Brynsierfel or the English School- Ysgol Y Bynea.

Bynea ( BIN-yə; ; sometimes Welsh: Bynie) is a village close to the River Loughor (Welsh: Afon Llwchwr) in Carmarthenshire, Wales. It also forms an electoral ward for the purposes of elections to Carmarthenshire County Council, and is situated in Berwig Hamlet. It borders with the villages of Llwynhendy, Bryn, Pen-y-graig and Loughor.

St. John Lloyd Catholic Comprehensive School is located in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, Wales. It is a mixed, community comprehensive school of around 500 pupils, catering for all abilities across an age range of 11 to 16 years. It is dedicated to St. John Lloyd, who was executed in Cardiff in 1679 for exercising his priesthood.The school is situated in Llanelli's Dafen suburb, although pupils are drawn from as far afield as Carmarthen, Pembrey, Burry Port, Kidwelly, and Trimsaran. The main partner primary schools are: St. Mary's School, Dafen Halfway Primary, Llanelli Old Road Primary, Llanelli Pentip Primary, LlanelliThe school also receives a number of pupils from schools outside the catchment area.

Coedcae School (Welsh: Ysgol Coedcae) is a comprehensive school in Llanelli, Wales. As of 2020 it has 880 pupils, aged from 11 to 16 years old. The school uniform is black trousers, white shirt and red and silver tie (Purple and silver for senior pupils) and a black jumper with the school logo. The current head teacher is Tracy Senchal, the school has around 70 teachers. Coedcae was placed in school quality group 2, 1 being excellent and 5 being poor. Notable past students include the cricketer Simon Jones and the athlete Dai Greene. The 2011/2012 school year marked the end of deputy headmaster, Mr Robert Davies', 37 year teaching career as he retired. 2013 saw Coedcae getting a 48% pass rate at GCSEs grade A-C, decreasing in 2014 to a 39% pass rate. This was a drastic improvement from the 49% pass rate in the school year 2010/2011.
