Des Rapides Park (French: Parc des Rapides) is an urban park in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is located adjacent to the Lachine Rapids in the borough of LaSalle. It is considered by the City of Montreal as one of its large parks.The park is 30 hectares (74 acres) large. It has been a migratory bird sanctuary since 1937, and is home to over 225 species of bird, among these is the great blue heron, a protected species.

The Saint-Régis River is a tributary of the south shore of the St. Lawrence River. The Saint-Régis river flows in the municipality of Saint-Isidore, Saint-Constant and Sainte-Catherine, in the Roussillon Regional County Municipality, in the administrative region of Montérégie, in the southwest of Quebec, in Canada.

The Douglas Mental Health University Institute (French: Institut universitaire en santé mentale Douglas; formerly the Douglas Hospital and originally the Protestant Hospital for the Insane) is a Canadian psychiatric hospital located in the borough of Verdun in the city of Montreal, Quebec. Sainte-Catherine is an off-island suburb of Montreal, in southwestern Quebec, Canada, on the St. Lawrence River in the Regional County Municipality of Roussillon. The population as of the Canada 2011 Census was 16,762.

LaSalle Community Comprehensive High School (commonly referred to as LCCHS or LaSalle Comprehensive) is a secondary school in the Montreal, Quebec, Canada borough of LaSalle. It is part of the Lester B. Pearson School Board. The present school is the result of a merger between two former schools, Leroux High School and LaSalle Catholic High School, which occurred in 1971.

The Canal de l'Aqueduc is an open-air aqueduct canal on the Island of Montreal in Quebec, Canada, serving part of the drinking water needs of the city of Montreal. The canal was built in 1853 by a commission headed by City Councillor Edwin Atwater. The adjacent Atwater Avenue is named after him. The canal draws water from the Saint Lawrence River on the southernmost shore of the island in the borough of LaSalle, in the Lachine Rapids downstream of the Honoré Mercier Bridge. It then runs northeasterly, through LaSalle and then between the boroughs of Verdun and Le Sud-Ouest, finally ending at a City of Montreal pumping station and underground reservoir on av. Atwater just south of the Pointe-Saint-Charles neighbourhood. At this point the canal passes within 300 metres of the Lachine Canal. The canal is approximately 8100 metres in length and varies between 35 and 50 metres in width (approximate). The canal is lined with wetland along its route, and although the canal itself is fenced off, a linear park and bicycle path runs along its southern bank. Boul. de La Vérendrye and Boul. Champlain, major streets, run along its northern and southern banks respectively, with the Autoroute 15 running along the end nearest the pumping station.

It primarily serves the southwestern areas of the city of Montreal It is recognized for its high-quality programs. It is the only public college on the island of Montreal to offer the International Baccalaureate. The college offers 13 pre-university programs, 13 technical programs and over 15 continuing education programs. The college also has 2 research centres, it is the 4th most research-intensive college in the province of Quebec.

Long known as a working class neighbourhood, it has experienced significant gentrification and social change in the 21st century.

Angrignon Park (French: Parc Angrignon) is an urban park in the Le Sud-Ouest borough Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Angrignon Park has a total area of 97 hectares. It includes a 1.1km long lake. It is considered by the City of Montreal as one of its large parks.The park is named for Jean-Baptiste Angrignon (1875–1948), an alderman in Côte Saint-Paul from 1921 to 1934. Before 1927, the area was named Crawford Park.The park was inspired by the design of 19th-century English gardens. The park contains 20,000 trees, winding paths and a pond surrounded by cattails. The park is located just south of Ville-Émard, east of Carrefour Angrignon, which is also named after Jean-Baptiste Angrignon, and west of Verdun. The park was once home to a small farm.Angrignon station – the western terminus of the Montreal metro Green Line – is at the northern corner of the park. On December 7, 2020, the City of Montreal announced a plan to create a green corridor between the park and Bois-de-Saraguay Nature Park. The plans included a walking path, a bicycle link, and landscaping.
