Signal Hill is an unincorporated community in Centreville Township, Stookey Township, and the city of Belleville, St. Clair County, Illinois, United States. Signal Hill is located on Illinois Route 157, approximately 11 miles (18 km) southeast of St. Louis, Missouri. Signal Hill dates back to 1904, during the Saint Louis World Fair, when the Signal Hill Park addition was platted. The tree-lined, island separated, boulevard is the centerpiece of the community filled with large, elegant homes dated to the creation of the community.

Birkner is a populated area in St. Clair County, Illinois. It is located at 38.562°N 90.029°W / 38.562; -90.029. A mine of the same name operated from prior to 1882 to 1889. During that time, the mine was operated by Edward Avery & Company, Dutch Hollow Coal Company, and the Consolidated Coal Company of St. Louis.Birkner can be seen on the French Village U.S. Geological Survey Map.

(previously Clear Channel Communications) outlet broadcasts with power level of 6 kW day/3.5 kW night. Its transmitter is located in East St. Louis, Illinois, and operates from studios in St. Louis south of Forest Park. KATZ is licensed by the FCC to broadcast a HD digital (hybrid) signal.

Caseyville is a village in St. Clair County, Illinois, United States. The population was 4,245 at the 2010 census, a decline from 4,310 in 2000.

The Blair Historic District is a historic district located in downtown Belleville, Illinois. The district encompasses a mainly commercial area on the west side of the downtown area; it includes 78 buildings, 57 of which are contributing buildings. The entire district is located within the original plat of the city, which was established following a land donation from George Blair in 1813. The oldest buildings in the district date to circa 1850; development continued from then on into the early twentieth century. Most buildings in the district are two-part brick commercial blocks designed in popular contemporary styles such as the Italianate, Second Empire, Classical Revival, and Romanesque Revival. The Reichert Business Block, a three-story structure at 200 West Main Street, has a particularly significant Second Empire design; the building features a mansard roof with dormers and a decorative cornice and has been described as the district's most elaborate building. Two Classical Revival buildings, the 1911 United States Post Office Building and the 1924 Turner Hall, also have a commanding presence in the district; the post office was designed by Supervising Architect James Knox Taylor.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 18, 2015.

Frank Holten State Recreation Area is an urban Illinois state park on 1,080 acres (437 ha) in unincorporated Centreville Township, St. Clair County, Illinois, United States. It is located less than five miles southeast of the Gateway Arch in Greater St. Louis. The park is bisected by Interstate 255.

The Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI) is a missionary religious congregation in the Catholic Church. It was founded on January 25, 1816, by Eugène de Mazenod, a French priest later recognized as a Catholic saint. (Oblate means a person dedicated to God or God's service.) The congregation was given recognition by Pope Leo XII on February 17, 1826. As of January 2020, the congregation was composed of 3,631 priests and lay brothers usually living in community. Their traditional salutation is Laudetur Iesus Christus ("Praised be Jesus Christ"), to which the response is Et Maria Immaculata ("And Mary Immaculate"). Members use the post-nominal letters, "OMI". As part of its mission to evangelize the "abandoned poor", OMI are known for their mission among the Indigenous peoples of Canada, and their historic administration of at least 57 schools within the Canadian Indian residential school system. Some of those schools have been associated with cases of child abuse by Oblate clergy and staff.: 399–452

Memorial Hospital station is a St. Louis MetroLink station. It is located under an overpass on Frank Scott Parkway and serves Memorial Hospital Belleville (for which it is named) and the northwestern neighborhoods of Belleville, Illinois. The station has 431 park and ride spaces across three parking lots. The Memorial Hospital station has a connection to the St. Clair County Transit District's 14-mile (23 km) MetroBikeLink shared-use path system.

Canteen Township is located in St. Clair County, Illinois. As of the 2010 census, its population was 10,263 and it contained 4,027 housing units. Canteen Township was formed from Centreville Station Township when it was subdivided on March 5, 1910.

Cahokia Downs was an American horse racing track located on Highway 15 near the town of Alorton, St. Clair County, Illinois. Run by the East St. Louis Jockey Club, the facility opened in 1954 and hosted both Standardbred harness racing and Thoroughbred flat racing events. At Cahokia Downs on October 18, 1978, jockey David Gall became the first rider in United States Thoroughbred horse racing to win eight races on a single racecard.In October 1979 the Illinois Racing Commission refused to authorize any 1980 racing dates for Cahokia Downs and on April 2, 1980 the business filed for bankruptcy. The track never reopened.

Washington Park is a St. Louis MetroLink station. It's platform is located on the city limit line between East St. Louis, Illinois and Washington Park, Illinois. It is primarily a MetroBus transfer and a commuter station with 681 park and ride spaces and 25 long-term spaces. The park and ride lot is accessed from North Kingshighway and St. Clair Avenue. East St. Louis Senior High School is 0.8 miles (1.3 km) south of the station and the Southern Illinois Correctional Center is roughly one half mile (0.8 km) north of the station.
