Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad) is a business school located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. The school has been accorded the status of an Institute of National Importance by Ministry of Human Resources, Government of India in 2017. Established in 1961, the institute offers master's degree programs in management and agri-business management, a fellowship program and a number of executive training programs. The institute's founding director is Ravi J. Matthai. Other notable founding figures were the Indian physicist Vikram Sarabhai, Indian businessman Kasturbhai Lalbhai and Indian educator Kamla Chowdhary.

VIVA College is an educational institute run by Late Shri Vishnu Waman Thakur Charitable Trust, established in 2001 in Virar, Maharashtra, India, affiliated to the University of Mumbai. It offers under-graduate courses in Science, Commerce and Arts. Its sister colleges, run by the same trust offer under-graduate courses in Law, Engineering and post-graduate courses in Management and Information Technology.

The Ahmedabad Textile Industry's Research Association (commonly known as ATIRA) is an autonomous non-profit association for textile research located in the Navarangpura area of Ahmedabad, India. It is the largest association for textile research & allied industries in India. Established on 13 December 1947, and started in 1949, ATIRA was recognized by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. It was later linked to the Ministry of Textiles.

LJ Institute of Business Administration (LJIBA) is an undergraduate business school affiliated with Gujarat University and based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It was founded in 1998. It gives a three-year BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) degree to the graduates. It provides two specialisations in the third year of attendance: Accountancy and Marketing. The college is owned and managed by the Lok Jagruti Kendra trust.

The Physical Research Laboratory (PRL) is a National Research Institute for space and allied sciences, supported mainly by Department of Space, Government of India. This research laboratory has ongoing research programmes in astronomy and astrophysics, atmospheric sciences and aeronomy, planetary and geosciences, Earth sciences, Solar System studies and theoretical physics. It also manages the Udaipur Solar Observatory and Mount Abu InfraRed Observatory. The PRL is located in Ahmedabad. The Physical Research Laboratory was founded on 11 November 1947 by Dr. Vikram Sarabhai. The laboratory had a modest beginning at his residence, with research on cosmic rays. The institute was formally established at the M.G. Science Institute, Ahmedabad, with support from the Karmkshetra Educational Foundation and the Ahmedabad Education Society. Prof. K. R. Ramanathan was the first Director of the institute. The initial focus was research on cosmic rays and the properties of the upper atmosphere. Research areas were expanded to include theoretical physics and radio physics later with grants from the United States Atomic Energy Commission. PRL is involved in research, related to five major fields of science. PRL is also instrumental in the PLANEX planetary science and exploration programme. In June 2018, PRL scientists discovered exoplanet EPIC 211945201b or K2-236b, located 600 light years away from the Earth.The building of the PRL was designed by Achyut Kanvinde in 1962.

Vastrapur is an area in Ahmedabad district in the Indian state of Gujarat. The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad is located in this area. It is also the location for Vastrapur Lake where many renowned personalities from the field of music have also performed. It is the posh area of the Ahmedabad city. It has shopping malls, a lake, a garden, a hospital and bungalows. The area is cosmopolitan where the rich and famous personalities of Ahmedabad city stay. It is said to be one of the fastest-growing areas in the city of Ahmedabad. It is located beside the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway, an area famous for its line of restaurants and shopping malls. The futuristic electric cremation house is located in this area. Other landmarks of this area are the Gurudwara and the Nehru foundation / Center for environment education. Sandesh, a newspaper published in the local language - Gujarati, has its head office in this area. Bodakdev, an area adjoining Vastrapur is turning out to be a posh area with high real estate market value. It also houses the elite High Court Judges of Gujarat State.

Nexus Ahmedabad One Mall (formerly Alpha One Mall) is a shopping complex in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It was opened in 2011 by Alpha G Group and it is situated in Vastrapur area of Ahmedabad city.

The Ahmedabad Stock Exchange (ASE) is the second oldest exchange of India located in the city of Ahmedabad in the Western part of the country and is fully owned by Government of India. It is recognised by Securities Contract (Regulations) Act, 1956 as permanent stock exchange. Its logo consists of the Swastika which is one of the most auspicious symbols of Hinduism depicting wealth and prosperity. In April 2018, the SEBI permitted the Ahmedabad stock exchange to exit the stock exchange business. Under the agreement, ASE will cease its activities and change its name to remove the phrase "stock exchange" from it.

Vastrapur Lake is situated in western part of Ahmedabad. It is officially named after Narsinh Mehta. The lake was beautified by the AMC after 2002 and has since become a popular spot in the city. Everyday, many people visit this lake. It currently boasts an open-air theater and children's park. There is a 600m pathway all around the lake which serves many walkers and joggers in the early mornings and in the evenings. There are also few fitness equipments available like chest press, lat pull down, hip rollers, pull bar, rowing machine. The lush green lawns surrounding this lake also serve as a central hub of Ahmedabad, wherein various cultural events take place regularly. At times, the water from Narmada River is allowed to flow into this lake. The lake is surrounded by pretty gardens with much stonework.In 2013, Vastrapur lake was renamed to 'Bhakt Kavi Narsinh Mehta Sarovar' in memory of Narsinh Mehta and a statue of Narsinh Mehta was installed in the garden of lake.In 2016, the lake almost dried up. People removed dead fish, and moved surviving fish elsewhere.In September 2019, Amdavad Municipal Corporation is planning fill the lake with Narmada River water.
