The Merri Creek Trail is a shared use path for cyclists and pedestrians that follows the Merri Creek through the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

Edgar's Creek is a minor creek tributary of the Merri Creek in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. Edgars Creek has a catchment on the basalt plains in Wollert and flows south through the suburbs of Epping, Thomastown and Reservoir, to join the Merri Creek at North Coburg. Sites of geomorphological significance located along the creek include a silurian bed waterfall, a high cliff which exposes the Melbourne Formation sediments, and Pleistocene alluvial terraces and meanders where bones of extinct marsupials such as Diprotodon have been found. These flats have been shown to contain Aboriginal archaeological material and were used for Market Gardens and associated with the McKay farm in the nineteenth century.The origin of the name is unclear, but was first used in 1853, and possible candidates are Francis Edgar, the second teacher at the Merri Creek Aboriginal School or Edward Edgar, who was a prominent auctioneer in Port Phillip in the 1840s and 50s.Much of the waterway has been altered by forming into an artificial channel, concrete lining and construction of a dam at Edwardes Lake. However, there are plans to rehabilitate the creek to a more natural appearance.

The Merri Creek is a waterway in southern parts of Victoria, Australia, which flows through the northern suburbs of Northcote. It begins near Wallan north of Melbourne and flows south for 70 km until it joins the Yarra River at Dights Falls. The area where the creek meets the river was traditionally the location for large gatherings of the Wurundjeri people and is suspected to have been the location for one of the earliest land treaties in Australia between Indigenous Australians and European settlers. The creek was the site of heavy industrial use throughout much of the 20th century, being home to quarries, landfills and accepting waste runoff from neighbouring factories. This has degraded the riparian ecology of the creek leaving behind pollutants such as heavy metals and various greases. Recent decades have seen some regenerative planting and the foundation of several community groups dedicated to protecting and regenerating the creek's ecology.

Northcote High School is a co-educational, state secondary school in Northcote, Victoria, Australia. It is situated at the southern end of the City of Darebin, on St Georges Road, Northcote. The school teaches from Years 7 to 12 and has a current population of 1,849 students. The Islamic Museum of Australia (IMA) is a community museum in Thornbury, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It began as a not-for-profit foundation founded in May 2010 with the purpose of establishing the first Islamic museum in Australia. It aims to showcase the artistic heritage and historical contributions of Muslims in Australia and abroad through the display of artworks and historical artefacts.

Elysium (also known as 54 Clarke) was a proposed residential skyscraper to be located in the Southbank precinct of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Despite receiving planning approval in 2013, the proposed skyscraper was scrapped in 2019. The project was developed by the Melbourne-based Matrix & Cube group and designed by BKK Architects. Rising to a height of 243.8 m (800 ft), Elysium would have contained up to 288 residential apartments, across 75 levels; this would have made it one of the tallest buildings in Melbourne. Its design was notable for a slender appearance – with a width of 12 m (39 ft) at its narrowest – which had earned it a reputation for being one of the "skinniest skyscraper (proposals)" in Melbourne. First proposed in 2011, Elysium received approval twice in 2013 by then-Planning Minister Matthew Guy; initially in February, 2013, which was later challenged through Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), and then subsequently in December, 2013. In 2019, the proposed skyscraper was cancelled, with plans resubmitted for a high-rise residential building of 24 levels.

Brunswick East is an inner-city suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 5 km (3.1 mi) north of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Merri-bek local government area. Brunswick East recorded a population of 13,279 at the 2021 census.Bordered generally by Lygon Street and Holmes Street in the west; the Merri Creek in the east adjoining Northcote; Park Street, Nicholson Street and Glenlyon Road in the south adjoining Carlton North and Fitzroy North; and Moreland Road in the north adjoining Coburg. Brunswick East is a mixed-use suburb, consisting of primarily residential and commercial properties.

North Fitzroy station is a former railway station that was located on the Inner Circle railway line in Melbourne, Australia. It was located east of Nicholson Street, on Rae and Park streets. The station was opened on 8 May 1885, and was originally known as Nicholson Street.A branch line headed south from North Fitzroy station towards Fitzroy Station. The Fitzroy branch had passenger services only until 1892, and it was thereafter used solely for goods trains. North Fitzroy station was closed to passengers in 1948, and to goods trains in 1981. Almost all traces of the station have been removed, except for some bluestone.

Croxton Park was a multi-purpose sports venue located in present-day Northcote and Thornbury, Victoria. It comprised a horse racing track which was in use from 1865 until 1873, and a grassed oval used for Australian rules football and other sports until the 1910s. Unlike most major sports venues in Melbourne, which were council owned, Croxton Park was privately owned by the proprietors of the adjoining Croxton Park Hotel, which proved controversial for its proximity to alcohol service and for behaviour of patrons. The sports venue was closed and the land sold for housing in 1918, while the hotel itself remains to the present day.
