Croxton railway station

Croxton Park was a multi-purpose sports venue located in present-day Northcote and Thornbury, Victoria. It comprised a horse racing track which was in use from 1865 until 1873, and a grassed oval used for Australian rules football and other sports until the 1910s. Unlike most major sports venues in Melbourne, which were council owned, Croxton Park was privately owned by the proprietors of the adjoining Croxton Park Hotel, which proved controversial for its proximity to alcohol service and for behaviour of patrons. The sports venue was closed and the land sold for housing in 1918, while the hotel itself remains to the present day.

The Northcote Theatre is a live music venue located in Northcote, Victoria, in a heritage listed former cinema. The building is notable for being the oldest purpose built cinema in Melbourne, which opened in 1912 as the Northcote Picture Theatre. It was previously a dance studio and reception centre, before it was converted into a music venue in 2022. Since opening, international acts have played at the theatre, including Charli XCX, Bright Eyes, and 100 Gecs.

Platform Youth Theatre was a theatre company for 16- to 26-year-olds based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. that was operational for eighteen years from 1998-2016. The Company was reflective of the cultural melting pot of the Darebin area, and was originally a program within the Darebin Council. It had a diversity of participants in its programs and a commitment to including marginalised young people (recent migrants, young people with disabilities and at risk youth) and a youth governance model. Platform operated programs that dealt with multiple facets of the performing arts. These programs varied from group learning models to one-on-one mentorships, and were facilitated by professional artists from the Australian theatre industry. Platform's first production was in 1998. The company combined an inclusive cultural development process with the creation of art. The public performance outcomes of all Platform's programs gave young people a voice. Platform was awarded Australian Writers Guild Awards and Green Room Award nominations.

Thornbury () is an inner-city suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 7 km (4.3 mi) north-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Darebin local government area. Thornbury recorded a population of 19,005 at the 2021 census.Thornbury is bordered by the Merri Creek to the west, and the Darebin Creek to the east. The heart of Thornbury is known as Thornbury Village, and is located at the centre of Thornbury, at the intersection of High Street and Normanby Avenue/Clarendon Street. Thornbury is shaped as a thin strip of land sandwiched between Northcote and Preston. Its east–west distance is four times its north–south distance. For 111 years, Thornbury was part of the former City of Northcote local government area, which existed from 1883 until June 1994. As such, Thornbury is universally understood to be a demographic and commercial satellite of Northcote, along with Westgarth, although the latter does not have its own postcode.

Northcote High School is a co-educational, state secondary school in Northcote, Victoria, Australia. It is situated at the southern end of the City of Darebin, on St Georges Road, Northcote. The school teaches from Years 7 to 12 and has a current population of 1,849 students. Northcote High has a large music and science program, and has been recognised as a significant leader in the use of learning technologies in the classroom.
