Czadrów

Krzeszów [ˈkʂɛʂuf] is a village in south-western Poland. It is part of the administrative district of Kamienna Góra County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship. Krzeszów boasts the Krzeszów Abbey, one of the most valuable relics of Baroque architecture in Poland and Europe, designated a Historic Monument of Poland. The village is located in the Zadrna valley of the Central Sudetes, within the historic Lower Silesia region. It lies approximately 10 km (6 mi) south of Kamienna Góra, and 82 km (51 mi) south-west of the regional capital Wrocław.

Zadrna (German: Zieder) is a river in Lower Silesian Voivodeship in southwestern Poland, a right tributary of the Bóbr. It rises in the Góry Krucze range of the Central Sudetes near the village of Błażejów, close to the border with the Czech Republic.

Krzeszów Abbey (Polish: Klasztor w Krzeszowie, German: Kloster Grüssau) is a historical Baroque Cistercian monastery in Krzeszów, Lower Silesia, Poland. The Abbey, a 1242 Benedictine foundation, from 1289 to 1810 was run by Cistercians, until it was secularized by the Prussian state. Since 1919, it was again run by Benedictines, exiles from Prague. The new location in post-war West Germany was referred to as Grüssau Abbey or Grüssau-Wimpfen. The site of the abbey in Krzeszów, Poland, is known as Krzeszów Abbey. The abbey's Basilica of the Assumption contains a mausoleum of dukes of the Świdnica line of the Polish Piast dynasty. The name Grüssau Abbey refers to a house of the Benedictine Order founded in 1947 in the town of Bad Wimpfen in Baden-Württemberg, where the German Grüssau (Krzeszów) community moved, after Krzeszów became again part of Poland following World War II. The original abbey is now one of Poland's official national Historic Monuments (Pomnik historii), as designated May 1, 2004, and tracked by the National Heritage Board of Poland.

Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Krzeszów (Polish: Bazylika Wniebowzięcia NMP w Krzeszowie) is a Roman Catholic church located within the abbey of the Order of Saint Benedict in Krzeszów, Poland. Built in 1728–1735, it is a notable Baroque church in Lower Silesia and a shrine to the Virgin Mary, listed as a Historic Monument of Poland. It is a basilica since 1998.

Kamienna Góra [kaˈmʲɛnːa ˈɡura] (German: Landeshut, Czech: Lanžhot or Kamenná Hora) is a town in south-western Poland with 18,235 inhabitants (2023). It is the seat of Kamienna Góra County, and also of the rural district called Gmina Kamienna Góra, although it is not part of the territory of the latter (the town forms a separate urban gmina). Kamienna Góra on the Bóbr river is situated in Lower Silesian Voivodeship between the Stone Mountains and the Rudawy Janowickie at the old trade route from Silesia to Prague, today part of the National Road No. 5. It lies approximately 95 kilometres (59 miles) south-west of the regional capital Wrocław.

The Battle of Landeshut was an engagement fought on 23 June 1760 during the Third Silesian War (part of the Seven Years' War). A Prussian army of 12,000 men under General Heinrich August de la Motte Fouqué fought an Austrian army of over 28,000 men under Ernst Gideon von Laudon and suffered a defeat, with its commander wounded and taken prisoner. The Prussians lost 10,242 men including 1,927 killed along with 8,315 prisoners as well as 68 guns captured. The Austrians lost 774 killed and 2,195 wounded. The Prussians fought with resolution, surrendering after running out of ammunition.

The village is situated on the river Leske, in a valley located between the massif Trójgarbu and Krąglaka the north and the rocky mountains in the south. It lies approximately 6 kilometres (4 mi) north-west of Czarny Bór, 14 km (9 mi) west of Wałbrzych, and 75 km (47 mi) south-west of the regional capital Wrocław.
