Rumbling Bridge is a small village built on both side of a gorge of the River Devon, which formed the boundary between the historic counties of Perthshire and Kinross-shire and is now within the combined Perth and Kinross council area, Scotland, where the A823 leaves the A977. It lies roughly 1 mile equidistant from Muckhart to its north, Crook of Devon to its east and Powmill to its south. It is named after an unusual double bridge, which gives off a distinctive rumbling reverberation at lower levels. Comprising only a few scattered houses until the mid-20th century, most property in the village dates from the 1970s onwards.

Tullibole Castle is a 17th-century castle in Crook of Devon, a village in Perth and Kinross. It was built by John Halliday in 1608 and is currently owned by the Moncreiff family. The castle was designated a Category A listed building in 1971.

Powmill is a village in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It lies at the junction of the A823 and A977 roads at the southwest of the region, approximately 5 miles (8 kilometres) southwest of Kinross and 5 miles (8 kilometres) east of Dollar.The famed Rumbling Bridge over the River Devon lies 1.14 miles (1.83 kilometres) north of Powmill.

Aldie Castle is an historic building east of Crook of Devon, Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It is a Category A listed building. This three storey tower house dates to the early 16th century. A two-storey extension was made and a separate parallel three storey range was built and a link range between. It has a concealed vaulted basement.The castle was the former seat of the Mercers, who acquired it from the Murrays of Tullibardine around 1350. It later passed to the Nairn family and then through marriage to the Lansdowne family. It was restored in the 1950s.

Muckhart (Scottish Gaelic: Muc-Àird) commonly refers to two small villages in Clackmannanshire, Scotland, Pool of Muckhart (Scottish Gaelic: Poll Mhuc-Àird) and Yetts o' Muckhart. Muckhart is one of the Hillfoots Villages, situated on the A91 around 3 miles (5 kilometres) northeast of Dollar. The Gaelic name, Muc-àird, comes from muc ("pig") + àird ("height"), and may derive from the fact that the surrounding fields may once have been used for pig farming. Previously Muckhart, together with Glendevon, formed the southernmost tip of Perthshire. It was transferred to Clackmannanshire in a reorganisation of boundaries in 1971. The parish boundary is somewhat eccentric and extends to the outer edge of Dollar, some three miles (five kilometres) west. Due to this fact, the primary school is somewhat oddly located (the 1876 Act required the school to be at the centre of the parish) and lies over 1⁄2 mile (800 metres) west of the outer edge of the main village. It is also some considerable distance from the main road. This can be explained in that it lies on the old coach road to Dollar. This is now just a dirt track to the school (locally known as the Cinder Path). West of the school the old coach route is very hard to follow. The famed, historic Rumbling Bridge across Rumbling Bridge Gorge of the River Devon in Kinrosshire is about 300 metres (1,000 feet) south of the Muckhart Golf Course on the A823.

Innerdouny Hill (497 m) is a hill in the Ochil Hills of Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It is located northwest of the town of Kinross. The second highest Marilyn of the Ochils after Ben Cleuch, its slopes are heavily forested but the summit area is clear

Saline is a village and parish in Fife, Scotland, situated 5 miles (8.0 km) to the north-west of Dunfermline. It lies in an elevated position on the western slopes of the Cleish Hills. At the 2001 census the population was 1188, a decline from the 1235 recorded in the 1991 census. The village has a primary school, a parish church and a golf course. The glen runs from the bottom of the main street through to neighbouring Steelend. The civil parish has a population of 1,762 (in 2011) and an area of 8,757 acres.The village is dominated to the east-north-east by Saline Hill, 359 meters OD, with a hill fort on the eastern summit. The smaller hill to the south of east at Bandrum has a standing stone on the peak.

Steelend is a former mining village in West Fife, Scotland, located on the B914 road approximately three-quarters of a mile east of the village of Saline and four miles north-west of Dunfermline. The village is home to a community centre and the Steelend Miners Welfare Club. A church was once located in the village but was demolished in the 1980s. In 1991 it had a population of 320.The now-defunct Steelend Victoria F.C. were based at Woodside Park on the east side of the village until 2013 when the club folded due to financial issues. The name comes from a farm on Saline Hill north of Steelend.A goods railway station once existed to the east of the village on the West of Fife Mineral Railway. The station served the several collieries that once operated nearby to Steelend, which included Sunnybraes Colliery, Saline Valley Colliery, Killernie Colliery and North Steelend Colliery.The public transport serves the village in the form of buses which run to Dunfermline, Falkirk or Rosyth.To the south of the village is Bandrum Hill, on top of which is a large standing stone, which are accessible from Steelend by a path. To the north of the village is the eastern end of Saline Glen, which carries the Saline Burn and a footpath which leads west into the centre of Saline.
