Dammon Round Barn is a round barn just southeast of Red Wing, Minnesota, United States, adjacent to U.S. Route 61. The barn is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was built in 1914, with a foundation of Mississippi River limestone, and is 60 feet (18 m) in diameter and 60 feet (18 m) high. It was built during a time of agricultural growth in Goodhue County, when dairy cow herds were averaging 25 cows per farm and farmers were starting to build specialized barns. The round barn design was built around a silo and provided insulation for the silage, as well as making feeding and cleaning easier. Despite their efficiency round barns were difficult to construct, and they were not widely adopted. Later in its history the barn was used for honey production of the beekeeping owners of the farm. In 2000 the farm was purchased by Robin and Elaine Kleffman and the Dammon Barn underwent some significant restoration. A straightening of the walls and replacement of the original pillars for the upper floor support and a leveling and new installation of a floor in the top level of the barn makes this one of the most premiere remaining round barns in Minnesota.The barn is now part of a bed and breakfast and event center. The 8,000-square-foot (740 m2) facility is available as a venue for weddings.

Wacouta is an unincorporated community in Wacouta Township, Goodhue County, Minnesota, United States. The community is located southeast of Red Wing along Highways 61 and 63. Bullard Creek flows through the community, with the Mississippi River and Lake Pepin located nearby. Nearby places include Red Wing, Frontenac, Hay Creek, and Lake City.

Bridge No. 12 is a Warren pony truss bridge in Hay Creek Township, Minnesota. The bridge is 63 feet (19 m) long and 16 feet (4.9 m) wide and carries Township Road 43 over Bullard Creek. It is built of angle sections riveted together, as recommended in the engineering textbook The Design of Highway Bridges published in 1908. During this time, the state government was attempting to standardize design and construction of bridges by financial incentives, rather than proposing legislation.The county commissioners of Goodhue County decided in late 1907 to build a bridge over Bullard Creek, but they were dissatisfied with the first round of bids. In the spring of 1908, Louis P. Wolff proposed a bridge that would comply with Minnesota Highway Commission rules and regulations. By building a bridge that complied with the rules, the state would subsidize the cost of the bridge through road and bridge appropriations. The county commissioners approved of these ideas and paid Wolff $100 for the plans and blueprints. William P. Glardon from Red Wing, Minnesota was the contractor, and the Minneapolis Steel & Machinery Company fabricated the steel.The bridge is listed on the Iron and Steel Bridges in Minnesota Multiple Property Submission.

The Minnesota Correctional Facility – Red Wing is a state juvenile correctional facility located in Red Wing, Minnesota, US. As of July 2010, it housed 111 juvenile males, operating at about half of its licensed capacity. The prison also houses over 40 adult male prisoners in minimum-security, reentry housing. Built in 1889 as the Minnesota State Training School, the original Romanesque building was designed by Warren B. Dunnell, the architect of a number of historical public buildings in Minnesota, including the Minnesota State Public School for Dependent and Neglected Children, the Fergus Falls State Hospital Complex, the Minnesota Soldiers' Home Historic District, and the Pillsbury Academy Campus Historic District. American serial killer, rapist, arsonist, robber, and burglar Carl Panzram (June 28, 1891 – September 5, 1930) alleges that he was repeatedly beaten, tortured, and raped by Red Wing staff members while he was incarcerated here between the ages of 11 and 13. The institution served as the subject of "Walls of Red Wing", a folk and protest song by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan. During the COVID-19 pandemic, a Red Wing staff member was one of the first two confirmed cases of the virus in the Minnesota prison system.

Barn Bluff (Dakota: Ȟemníčhaŋ, frequently anglicized to He Mni Can) is a bluff along the Mississippi River in Red Wing, Minnesota, United States. The bluff is considered sacred by the Dakota people because it is the site of many burial mounds. During the 19th century, the bluff functioned as a visual reference for explorers and travelers and later served as a limestone quarry.The bluff overlooks the downtown area and towers about 400 feet (120 m) above the Mississippi River with an extensive view of Lake Pepin to the south. It is one of hundreds of bluffs in the Driftless Area, which covers parts of Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois, in addition to the southeastern toe of Minnesota.

William Henry Welch, Sr. (June 1, 1805 – January 23, 1863) was an American jurist. Born in Litchfield, Connecticut, Welch graduated from Yale University and Yale Law School. He moved to Minnesota Territory in 1850 and settled in St. Anthony (now Minneapolis). Welch served as a Justice of the Peace. From 1853 to 1858, Welch served as Chief Justice of the Minnesota Territorial Supreme Court as appointed by President Pierce. Welch was reappointed for another term by President Buchanan, but his term ended when Minnesota became a State. He moved to Red Wing, Minnesota in 1858 and died there.
