Sunset Station (hotel and casino)

Santa Fe Valley (also known later as the Santa Fe Galleria Hotel & Casino) is a cancelled hotel-casino that was planned by Santa Fe Gaming for 40 acres (16 ha) of land in Henderson, Nevada, next to the Galleria at Sunset mall. The project was announced in 1994, and construction was expected to begin in July 1996. The start of construction was delayed several times because of poor financial quarters for Santa Fe Gaming and because of the company not yet receiving financing for the project. Site preparation started in July 1998, with an opening date scheduled for December 1999, but construction never began. In 1999, the property was sold to Station Casinos, which sold the land a year later for use as a shopping center.

Galleria at Sunset (informally referred to as Galleria Mall) is an indoor shopping mall at 1300 West Sunset Road in Henderson, Nevada. It is owned by Forest City Enterprises and Queensland Investment Corporation, and managed by Forest City. Plans to build the mall were announced in 1987, but construction did not begin until 1995. It opened on February 28, 1996, and received its first major renovation in 2013, followed by an expansion which added several restaurants. It is Henderson's first and only indoor mall, and one of four indoor malls in the Las Vegas Valley. It is also one of the largest malls in the state, with 1,080,208 square feet (100,354.6 m2). Anchor tenants include Dick's Sporting Goods (formerly Galyan's), Dillard's, JCPenney, Kohl's (formerly Mervyn's), and Macy's (formerly Robinsons-May).

Green Valley High School is located in Henderson, Nevada, United States. The school, serving grades 9 through 12, is a part of the Clark County School District. The school's mascot are the Gators, and the school's motto is Commitment to Excellence.

Klondike Sunset Casino is a locals casino located on 2.2 acres (0.89 ha) of land at 444 West Sunset Road, west of Boulder Highway, in Henderson, Nevada.It was initially owned by Tom Yarbrough, who opened it as Tom's Sunset Casino on August 2, 1989. The casino closed in January 1998, due to financial losses and new competition. John Woodrum purchased the casino and reopened it as the Klondike Sunset Casino in October 1999, after a $5 million renovation. The casino was a sister property to Woodrum's Klondike Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip in nearby Paradise, Nevada. After Woodrum's death in 2014, the casino was closed and sold to Carl Giudici, whose plans to renovate and reopen the casino failed to materialize. Bruce Familian and Jon Athey purchased the casino in December 2015, and reopened it on August 3, 2016, after an eight-month renovation.

On May 4, 1988, a fire followed by several explosions occurred at the Pacific Engineering and Production Company of Nevada (PEPCON) chemical plant in Henderson, Nevada. The disaster caused two fatalities, 372 injuries, and an estimated $100 million of damage. A large portion of the Las Vegas Valley within a 10-mile (16 km) radius of the plant was affected, and several agencies activated disaster plans.

On November 3, 2020, a mass shooting occurred at the Douglas at Stonelake Apartments in Henderson, Nevada, United States. 38-year-old Jason Neo Bourne, who lived at the apartments, shot several of his neighbors, killing two, wounding one, and taking one hostage. Bourne was later shot and killed by responding police officers when he threatened the hostage in his car.

Roseman University of Health Sciences is a private university focused on healthcare and located in Henderson, Nevada. It has a second campus in South Jordan, Utah. It was founded by Dr. Harry Rosenberg, enrolled its first class in January 2001, and was originally called the Nevada College of Pharmacy and the University of Southern Nevada.

Edward W. Clark Generating Station is a 1,102 megawatt plant owned by Nevada Power on 000 acres (0 ha) located in the Las Vegas Valley town of Whitney, Nevada, USA. The plant consists of 19 units and first went into service in 1954 as Nevada Power’s first gas power plant.

Skyline Hotel and Casino is a locals casino and hotel located on 0.89 acres (0.36 ha) of land at 1741 North Boulder Highway in Henderson, Nevada. The property initially opened as the Dixie Bar in the 1940s. The Skyline opened as a casino on the property on October 1, 1964, but closed the following year. It briefly operated as the Wheel Casino during the early 1970s, before reopening as the Skyline on October 1, 1974. It has been renovated numerous times since then, with a 51-room hotel structure opening in June 2017.

Ethel M Botanical Cactus Garden is a 3-acre (1.2 ha) botanical garden located at the Ethel M Chocolate Factory in Henderson, Nevada. The garden, and the factory itself, are open to the public with no admission charge. The garden, like the factory, are named after Ethel G Mars, first wife of Frank C. Mars and mother of Forrest Mars Sr. The Botanical Cactus Garden also include a "Living Machine", their name for a demonstration waste water treatment facility. Using bacteria, algae, protozoa, snails and fish, the facility recycles 100 percent of the chocolate factory's waste water without the use of any chemicals. The water is recycled for use in providing water for the garden. The ponds from the waste water facility attract many of the birds that inhabit the garden. The garden opened in September 1981. During the mid-1980s, average visitor attendance was 300 to 400 people per day. Throughout the year the Botanical Cactus Garden are host to several community events including the annual cactus garden lighting. The cactus garden holiday lights show is hosted in November and December and is free to the general public.
