KLFE

KKOL (1300 AM) is a radio station in Seattle, Washington. It is owned by Intelli LLC and is operated by Salem Communications. It airs a conservative talk radio format, branded as "1300 The Answer," featuring nationally syndicated Salem Radio Network hosts including Dennis Prager, Mike Gallagher, Sebastian Gorka, Hugh Hewitt and Charlie Kirk. The radio studios and offices are on Fifth Avenue South. KKOL is the oldest radio station in Seattle, first licensed on May 23, 1922 (1922-05-23). By day, KKOL transmits 50,000 watts, the maximum for commercial AM radio stations in the U.S., but to protect other stations on 1300 AM from interference, at night it reduces power to 3,200 watts. It uses a directional antenna with a two-tower array. The transmitter is on North Madison Avenue on Bainbridge Island, co-located with KLFE 1590 AM.

KNTS (La Patrona 1680 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a Spanish language Regional Mexican format. Licensed to Seattle, Washington, it serves the Seattle metropolitan area. The station is currently owned by Salem Media Group.

Rolling Bay is a community on Bainbridge Island, located on the eastern side of the island. It consists of a number of stores (including Bay Hay & Feed, Rolling Bay Automotive, Rolling Bay Cafe, Rolling Bay Market, the Bud Hawk Post Office, Via Rosa 11) at the intersection of Sunrise Drive NE and NE Valley Road. Rolling Bay post office serves nearby the Sunrise area, North Madison, and the Manitou Beach area. Most of Rolling Bay is not on the water. Among the waterfront areas near Rolling Bay is Manitou Beach, although referring to this area as Rolling Bay is also considered acceptable. Like most of Bainbridge Island, Rolling Bay is a relatively affluent community with a primarily residential slant. The Rolling Bay post office was renamed The Bud Hawk Post Office on February 26, 2010. Bud Hawk grew up in Rolling Bay who roaming its woods as a kid 80 years ago. He became a decorated World War II veteran, earning the Medal of Honor and four Purple Hearts while fighting in Europe as a U.S. Army machine-gunner. After the war, he was a longtime Kitsap County educator. The ZIP code 98061 only serves post office boxes at the Rolling Bay post office. The whole of Bainbridge Island uses the zip code 98110.

Bainbridge Island is a city and island in Kitsap County, Washington, United States. It is located in Puget Sound. The population was 24,825 at the 2020 census, making Bainbridge Island the second largest city in Kitsap County. The island is separated from the Kitsap Peninsula by Port Orchard, with Bremerton lying to the southwest. Bainbridge Island is a suburb of Seattle, connected via the Washington State Ferries system and to Poulsbo and the Suquamish Indian Reservation by State Route 305, which uses the Agate Pass Bridge.

Eagle Harbor High School is part of the Commodore Options School, which serves multiple alternative programs for the Bainbridge Island School District, including the Mosaic Home Education Partnership, Odyssey Multiage Program, and Eagle Harbor High School. Eagle Harbor High School is an alternative high school in Bainbridge Island, Washington. The high school offers ninth through twelfth grade classes and independent studies. As of 2010, Eagle Harbor High School offers three Advanced Placement courses: AP U.S. History, AP Human Geography and AP Environmental Science. Students may participate in any of the interscholastic sports programs offered on the adjacent Bainbridge High School campus, for both of the high schools run on the same schedule. Eagle Harbor students may also attend classes at the nearby Bainbridge High School. Classes at Eagle Harbor High School typically have around 20 students on average in a class. There is also only 7 main teachers.

Bainbridge High School (BHS) is the sole comprehensive high school within the Bainbridge Island School District, serving students in grades 9–12 on Bainbridge Island, Washington. The principal is Kristina Rodgers.

Pinchot University was a private graduate university in Seattle, Washington. Founded in 2002, Pinchot University was the first school to offer an MBA in Sustainable Business. In August 2016, Pinchot University was acquired by Presidio Graduate School.

Winslow is the name of the downtown area of the city of Bainbridge Island, Washington, and is the original name of the city, named for shipbuilder Winslow Hall. It encompasses the area around the main street, Winslow Way, and is made up of approximately 1.5 square miles (3.9 km2) overlooking Eagle Harbor. The city has occupied the entire space of Bainbridge Island since February 28, 1991, when the 1.5-square-mile (3.9 km2) city of Winslow (incorporated on August 9, 1947), annexed the rest of the island after a narrowly passed November 1990 referendum. It officially remained the city of Winslow for several months, until November 7, 1991, at which time the city of Winslow was renamed the city of Bainbridge Island.Winslow Way runs about ten city blocks, and is grounded on both sides by local businesses, including a bookstore, several galleries, and multiple restaurants and bakeries. A ferry terminal, with service to Seattle's Colman Dock, boards at the east end of Winslow Way. In 2010, the census block group in which Winslow is located had a median household income of $42,000, less than half of the Island's median household income of $94,000 and one-third of several of the Island's wealthiest block groups, and also $10,000 less than national and statewide averages. More than half of Winslow households live in rental units, compared to 20% of households across the Island. These differences have in some cases created tension between Winslow and the remainder of the Island, which were highlighted during the successful initiative to annex Winslow and the remainder of the Island into a new jurisdiction noted above.

The Bainbridge Island Museum of Art (BIMA) is located in Bainbridge Island, Washington, United States. The museum was designed by Coates Design Architects and opened in 2013.During its first weeks, the museum averaged 150 daily visitors and included an exhibition of works by Roger Shimomura. BIMA has also showcased works by Amos Paul Kennedy Jr. and George Tsutakawa.Sheila Hughes was the executive director, as of 2018. BIMA launched a biennial artistic award program in 2023.

Camp Yeomalt is a one-story lodge originally built as a Boy Scout camp on Bainbridge Island, Washington. The camp was originally built as Camp Major Hopkins (named for Major Maurice Jayne Hopkins) in 1935 by unemployed island residents, recruited by the Franklin D. Roosevelt's Works Progress Administration. The original lodge was built of Douglas-fir logs, in "camp style" architecture. The western side of the lodge has a stone chimney, with fire boxes on both the interior and exterior sides. The lodge sits on 3 acres (12,000 m2) of land, and is accompanied by a second building that was built in 1942 as an Army bathhouse, when the camp was used as US Army 202nd Coast Artillery Bainbridge Island Headquarters. The Bainbridge Island Park & Recreation District took ownership of the camp in 1987, and renamed it Camp Yeomalt in 2000. The camp was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. The term "Yeomalt" is an anglicization of a Lushootseed word ("Yeboa'lt") meaning "fight".

Winslow Marine Railway and Shipbuilding Company was a shipyard in Puget Sound that operated from 1903 until 1959 on Bainbridge Island, Washington, United States. The shipyard was built as an expansion of Hall Bros. Marine Railway & Shipbuilding Company of Port Blakely, Washington, on 77 acres (310,000 m2) near the village of Madrone, later renamed Winslow after the dead brother of shipyard owner Henry Hall. It built five-masted schooners whose design allowed cargo to be loaded both fore and aft. Different facilities were included in this yard. It were marine railway, a powerhouse, sawmill, joiner loft, warehouse, shipways.In 1916, Hall sold the Winslow yard to Captain James Griffiths, who renamed it Winslow Marine Railway & Shipbuilding Co. The following year, Griffiths leased the yard to D. W. Hartzel, Inc., which used the facility to install machinery in hulls built at other yards. After World War I, Griffiths retook control of the yard, using it to do repair work for Puget Sound's ferry operators. During World War II, the yard built steel minesweepers, employing as many as 2,300 workers. Griffiths sold the yard in 1948, and its new owners renamed it Commercial Ship Repair of Winslow. Business dwindled, and the yard closed in 1959. The property was divided into a marina, an apartment complex and a Washington State Ferries maintenance facility. The Bainbridge Island Japanese American Exclusion Memorial (Japanese: ベインブリッジ島日系アメリカ人排除記念碑, Beinburijjitō Nikkei Amerikajin Haijo Kinenhi) is an outdoor exhibit commemorating the internment of Japanese Americans from Bainbridge Island, Washington. It is located on the south shore of Eagle Harbor, opposite the town of Winslow. Administratively, it is a unit of the Minidoka National Historic Site in Idaho. The mission of the memorial is Nidoto Nai Yoni (Japanese: 二度とないように), which means “Let It Not Happen Again”.
