Taycheedah, Wisconsin

Taycheedah, Wisconsin is an unincorporated census-designated place in the Town of Taycheedah in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin. The community is located adjacent to the city of Fond du Lac and Lake Winnebago. As of the 2010 census, its population is 704. Taycheedah calls itself the "Sheepshead Fishing Center of the World". U.S. Route 151 ran through the community until a bypass around Fond du Lac was built in the 2000s. Taycheedah Correctional Institution is located in the town of Taycheedah several miles east of the community.

Taycheedah Correctional Institution is a prison in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin near the Town of Taycheedah. Established in 1921, it was known as Wisconsin Home for Women until 1975. The facility houses maximum-security and medium-security adult females, with an average population of 936 as of May 2019.

Hopokoekau Beach is an unincorporated community in the town of Taycheedah, Fond du Lac County, United States. The community was named after Hopokoekau, the wife of Sabrevoir de Carrie, a mid-eighteenth century French Canadian army officer.

Peebles, Wisconsin (pronounced Pēbles) is an unincorporated community in the Town of Taycheedah in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin. The community is located adjacent to the unincorporated community of Taycheedah. U.S. Route 151 runs through the community. Wisconsin Highway 149 used to run through the community at its western terminus until it was decommissioned in 2006. Taycheedah Correctional Institution is located in the town of Taycheedah several miles south of the community.

St. Mary's Springs Academy (SMSA, formerly St. Mary's Springs High School) is a Catholic, private, coeducational system serving grades 3-year-old preschool through high school in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, associated with the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. It was founded by the Sisters of Saint Agnes in 1909.

Fond du Lac High School ("Fondy High") is a comprehensive public high school in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin administered by the Fond du Lac School District. Opened in 2001, the school replaced the former Goodrich High School, which was the city's high school from 1922 to 2001. Fond du Lac High School has an enrollment of approximately 2000 students. Fond du Lac High School's athletic teams are known as the Cardinals.

The University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh, Fond du Lac Campus (abbreviated as UWO Fond du Lac and formerly known as the University of Wisconsin–Fond du Lac) is a branch campus of the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh and a member of the Universities of Wisconsin. It is located on 62 acres (25 ha) in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Prior to its merger with UW–Oshkosh in July 2018, the campus was a member of the University of Wisconsin Colleges. As of 2022, the campus enrolls 258 students, making it the third-smallest of the UW branch campuses. In October 2023, UW System President Jay Roth announced that the campus would cease in-person instruction following the Spring 2024 semester, citing enrollment declines and increasing costs.

Moraine Park Technical College (Moraine Park Tech or MPTC) is a public technical college in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. It was established in 1912 and is part of the Wisconsin Technical College System. It has campuses in Fond du Lac, Beaver Dam, and West Bend, and regional centers in Jackson and Ripon. The college offers more than 100 associate of applied science degrees, technical diplomas, apprenticeships, and certificates. 

Minawa Beach is an unincorporated community in the town of Taycheddah, Fond du Lac County, United States.

Marian University is a private Roman Catholic university in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. It was founded in 1936 by the Congregation of Sisters of Saint Agnes, which continues to sponsor the university today. Marian University has an enrollment of approximately 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Seventy-one percent of students are women. Ninety-four percent of students receive financial aid. Approximately 32% of undergraduate students live on campus.

Winnebago Lutheran Academy, also known as WLA, is a private Lutheran high school in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, associated with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS).

The Fond du Lac Light is a lighthouse located at the entrance to the harbor and Yacht Club, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. It is located on the southern end of Lake Winnebago. It is currently incorporated in the Fond du Lac City Seal. Construction of the lighthouse started in May 1933 and was completed shortly after October. It replaced an ordinary red light that previously marked the harbor entrance. After years of neglect it was saved from demolition in 1967 and restored in 1993 with help from local community organizations. The lighthouse is also the focal point of the seasonal holiday lights in Lakeside Park; a cutout of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is adorned to the light house using the red light on top of the lighthouse as the nose. Pending major rebuild for being crooked for the past 25 years.
