Heinz

The H. J. Heinz Company complex, part of which is currently known as Heinz Lofts, is a historic industrial complex in the Troy Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The buildings were built by the H. J. Heinz Company from 1907 through 1958. The complex is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) and five of the buildings are listed as a Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmark.

Sarah Heinz House (originally Covode House) was a settlement house in at the corner of Heinz and Ohio streets in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, US. It adjoined the H. J. Heinz factories. The house's mission was: to provide wholesome social and recreational opportunities; to utilize leisure time and energy; to study individual requirements and awaken and direct latent ability; to develop Christian character and train for efficient citizenship the young people of the community; to draw together neighborhood residents and friends for mutual helpfulness: to train for service in the community.

Penn Brewery, also known as the Pennsylvania Brewing Company, is a brewery and restaurant in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was founded by Tom Pastorius in 1986, and is located at 800 Vinial Street in the Troy Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh, on the site of the former Eberhardt and Ober Brewery (founded in 1848).

The David McCullough Bridge, commonly and historically known as the 16th Street Bridge, is a steel trussed through arch bridge that spans the Allegheny River in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The 16th Street Bridge replaced the Mechanics Street Bridge which had been completed at the behest of the State of Pennsylvania in 1838. The 16th Street Bridge was constructed in 1922 with a length of 1,900 feet (580 m) and a width of 40 feet (12 m). The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. The 16th Street Bridge is one of the more popular bridges in the city of Pittsburgh and provides easy access to the Strip District and the North Shore. Days after the disastrous St. Patrick's Day Flood of 1936, reports spread on March 20 that the bridge had collapsed from the pressure of the receding flood waters and debris, prompting Pittsburgh Police Chief Jacob Dorsey to close all city bridges for fear of receding waters and debris weakening or collapsing them. However, the reports were soon discovered to be false.On July 7, 2013, the structure was named in honor of historian, author, and commentator David McCullough, a Pittsburgh native, in a bridge ceremony sponsored by Heinz History Center.

The Schiller STEAM Academy (also known as Schiller School) in the East Allegheny neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is a building from 1939. The school is still in use today, as part of the Pittsburgh Public School System, and is known as Schiller STEAM Academy. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The Teutonia Männerchor Hall (), in the Deutschtown neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is a building constructed in 1888. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004. The Teutonia Männerchor is a private membership club with the purpose of furthering choral singing, German cultural traditions and good fellowship. The club features a number of heritage activities and celebrations, including choral singing in German and folk dancing.

The Veterans Bridge is a steel and welded girder bridge that carries Interstate 579 over the Allegheny River in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Completed in 1988 it cost $420 million (or $962 million in 2022 terms). It opened on November 11, 1988 complete with 107th National Guard howitzers firing ceremoniously from the deck, as the last link in I-579. The bridge, 1,050 feet (320 m) in length, has a main span of 410 feet (120 m) and is 51 feet (16 m) above the water. The roadway atop the structure is seven lanes wide, with six lanes dedicated to northbound and southbound traffic (three per direction) and one lane designed for reversible High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV-2) movements. The bridge is also designated "pghe585-17".

Saint Nicholas Croatian Catholic Church was a Roman Catholic church located at 1326 East Ohio Street in the Troy Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Croatian Catholic parish of St. Nicholas was established in 1894 as the first Croatian Catholic parish in the United States, in the city of Allegheny, now Pittsburgh's North Shore.

The Workingman's Savings Bank & Trust Co. Building, located at 800 East Ohio Street in the East Allegheny neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was built in 1901. It was added to the List of City of Pittsburgh historic designations on March 10, 2009. Formerly a Mellon Bank until 1971, the building was sold to the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh with plans to convert it to a church. However, the expense of the project proved too costly and it was instead donated to the ARC House rehabilitation center network. The building remained their headquarters from 1976 to 2006. It is currently vacant.

Primanti Brothers (, locally ) is a chain of sandwich shops in the eastern United States, founded in and most closely associated with, as a cultural icon of, Pittsburgh. Founded in 1933, the chain is known for its signature sandwiches of grilled meat, melted cheese, an oil and vinegar-based coleslaw, tomato slices, and French fries between two thick slices of Italian bread.During the 2007 James Beard Foundation Awards, Primanti's was named as one of "America's Classic" restaurants.

The Pittsburgh Produce Terminal, formerly the Pennsylvania Fruit Auction & Sales Building, is a building located at 2100 Smallman Street in the Strip District neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Built in 1926, the Produce Terminal stretches 1,533 feet long over five blocks. It previously served as the hub for local wholesale produce businesses, as well as retail markets and art galleries. After years of sitting partially vacant, the building is in the final stages of a $62.6 million renovation by McCaffery Interests.

Allegheny Social Hall located at 810-812 Concord Street in the East Allegheny neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was built in 1903. It was built at a time when this area was part of the city of Allegheny, Pennsylvania. The building was added to the List of Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmarks in 2003.
