Romema (Hebrew: רוממה, lit. Uplifted) is a neighbourhood in northwest Jerusalem, just off the Tel Aviv-Jerusalem highway at the main entrance to the city. It occupies the highest hill in Jerusalem. Romema is bordered by Kiryat Mattersdorf and Mekor Baruch.

The Jerusalem Central Bus Station (Hebrew: התחנה המרכזית של ירושלים, HaTahanah HaMerkazit Shel Yerushalayim, Arabic: محطة الحافلات المركزية) is the main bus depot in Jerusalem. Located on Jaffa Road near the entrance to the city, it serves Egged, Superbus and Dan intercity bus routes. City buses and light rail trains pick up and discharge passengers across the street on Jaffa Road and on Zalman Shazar Boulevard, which can be accessed via an underground pedestrian passageway. The entrance to Israel Railways' underground Navon Railway Station is located across the light rail stop in front of the station.

Terrorist attacks were carried out on two No. 18 buses on Jaffa Road in Jerusalem, in 1996. Hamas suicide bombers killed 45 people in the attacks, which were masterminded by Mohammed Deif, using explosives prepared by Adnan Awul. These two bombings, within a few days of each other, occurred during a Hamas offensive launched after the killing of Yahya Ayyash, which also included the French Hill neighborhood attack, a suicide bombing in Ashkelon, and a terrorist attack near Dizengoff Center in Tel Aviv.

Jerusalem–Yitzhak Navon Railway Station (Hebrew: תחנת הרכבת ירושלים – יצחק נבון, Tahanat HaRakevet Yerushalaim–Yitzhak Navon; Arabic: محطة أورشليم – يتسحاق ناڤون), originally named Jerusalem–HaUma railway station is an Israel Railways passenger terminal in Jerusalem, located at 6 Shazar Avenue.The station is the eastern terminus of the Tel Aviv–Jerusalem railway. It is the world's deepest heavy-rail passenger station, the fourth deepest underground station in the world, and the deepest underground station outside the former Soviet Union, with its platforms extending down to 80 metres (260 ft) below street level. It is located across from Binyanei HaUma and constitutes part of a major public transportation hub, being situated adjacent to the Jerusalem Central Bus Station as well as next to a station serving current and future lines of the Jerusalem Light Rail. The station is named after Jerusalem native Yitzhak Navon, the fifth President of Israel.

On July 2, 2008, an Arab resident of East Jerusalem identified as Hussam Taysir Duwait (also referred to as Hussam Duwiyat, Hossam Dawyyat, or erroneously as Jabr Duwait) attacked several cars on Jaffa Road in Jerusalem in a vehicle-ramming attack using a front-end loader (erroneously referred to as a bulldozer in the media), killing three people and wounding at least thirty other pedestrians, before being shot to death. Israeli government spokesman Mark Regev said that an inquiry indicated the attacker had been acting alone. A motive for the attack could not immediately be determined, but police at the scene referred to the incident as a terrorist attack. Three copycat attacks have occurred since then. This attack was the second incident in 2008 in which an Israeli Arab committed a violent act in west Jerusalem while carrying an Israeli ID Card (allowing for freedom of movement and travel throughout Israel), the first being the Mercaz HaRav massacre in early March 2008. On April 7, 2009, Duwait's house was demolished as a declared deterrent against future attacks, the first such demolition since 2005.

The Jerusalem Gate Hotel is a hotel located at the western entrance to Jerusalem, Israel. The hotel is attached to the shopping mall, Centre One. The hotel was constructed in 1988 by Heftsiba. In April 2006, the hotel was bought by American investor Morris Wilner.The hotel focuses on the Haredi, and Orthodox Jewish demographic. To this end the hotel has a mikvah on site.

Israel Post is the trading name of the Israel Postal Company (Hebrew: דואר ישראל, romanized: Do'ar Yisra'el), formerly called the Israel Postal Authority, which is a government-owned corporation that provides postal services in Israel. Israel Post has 5,000 employees, including 1,650 mail delivery staff and 2,000 postal clerks manning 700 post office branches around the country. It has a network of 4,262 mail boxes and 1,000 mail trucks. Some 2.5 million postal items are sorted every day.

Conquest of the Desert was a Specialised Expo recognised by the 28th General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions on 13 November 1951, held in Jerusalem in 1953 at Binyanei Ha'uma, a convention center in Jerusalem. It focused on the themes of reclamation and population of desert areas.

Sheikh Badr (Arabic: تلة الشيخ بدر, romanized: Talla aš-Šayḫ Badr, lit. 'Hill of Sheikh Badr' Arabic pronunciation: [tɑl.let ɑʃ.ʃeːx badᵉr] (listen); Hebrew: שייח' באדר) was a Palestinian Arab village on a hilltop in west Jerusalem. The Haganah expelled its population during the 1947–1948 Civil War in Mandatory Palestine. From 1948 to 1951, Sheikh Badr Cemetery, a temporary Jewish cemetery was established here; a few hundred graves still remain from that time. After 1949, the area was incorporated into a new area called Givat Ram.

The Jerusalem Gateway (Hebrew: רובע מבוא העיר, Rova Mevo HaIr or Hebrew: קרית אריאל שרון Kiryat Ariel Sharon) is a project for improving and developing the area that is the main entrance to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv and the coast. The project will connect the Jerusalem Central Bus Station, the terminal of the Tel Aviv to Jerusalem railroad, the Jerusalem Light Rail, and the Jerusalem Chords Bridge improving the main entrance to Jerusalem from the west. The program is designed to further the establishment of commercial and residential construction, including construction of two high-rise buildings to expand International Convention Center. All Israel Broadcasting Authority Studios will be concentrated in a new building on the site of "the old Shaare Zedek Hospital" (IBA Complex) Apple Inc. in cooperation with the Jerusalem Municipality plans to build the first digital library in the world on the first new commercial boulevard to be established next to Mishkenot Hauma neighborhood. A total of 13 high-rise buildings was being projected as of 2011, of which 12 would be commercial and one residential. The project was approved by municipal authorities in 2012. Municipal authorities are hoping that the new development sparks growth in the city's high-tech industry. The name Gateway was suggested by Moshe Beigel of the Jerusalem language company talk in March 2016. Construction program is the main entrance to Jerusalem as a complementary project to Kiryat HaLeom located just south.

The Shaare Zedek Cemetery is a small Jewish burial ground located behind the first Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem. Originally used by the hospital as farmland for grazing milk cows, the area was converted into a temporary cemetery during the Arab siege of Jerusalem in 1948. Approximately 200 burials were conducted here between March and October of that year. Most graves were transferred to permanent cemeteries after the war, but a handful remain, notably those of several prominent Jerusalem rabbis and the founding director of Shaare Zedek Hospital, Dr. Moshe Wallach.

The International Convention Center (Hebrew: מרכז הקונגרסים הבינלאומי, Merkaz HaKongresim HaBeinLeumi), commonly known as Binyenei HaUma (Hebrew: בנייני האומה, lit. Buildings of the nation), is a concert hall and convention center in Giv'at Ram in Jerusalem. It is the largest convention center in the Middle East.
