Cwmcych, Cwm Cych or Glyn Cuch (Welsh for 'Valley of the river Cych') is a small village in the upper Cych valley straddling the border between Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, Wales, in the community of Manordeifi.

Pont Cych is a single-arch, Grade II-listed bridge over Afon Cych at Cwmcych in the Cych Valley, bordering Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, Wales.

The Diocese of Menevia (Latin: Dioecesis Menevensis) was a Latin Church diocese of the Catholic Church in Wales. It was one of two suffragan dioceses in the ecclesiastical province of Cardiff and was subject to the Archdiocese of Cardiff, until it merged with the Archdiocese in 2024, to form the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cardiff-Menevia.

Ysgol Gyfun Emlyn is a mixed, community comprehensive school in Newcastle Emlyn, Carmarthenshire, Wales. It has around 520 pupils, catering for all abilities across an age range of 11 to 19 years. The school was established in 1994 following the re-organisation of secondary education provision in the area, although parts of the school were built in 1945. Due to its close proximity to the county border, pupils from both Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion attend a school. As of 2017, 30% of pupils speak Welsh at home. However, school data indicates that 23% of pupils are considered to be fluent in Welsh. Approximately 47% of pupils completed their primary education through the medium of Welsh.

Llanwinio is a village and community in Carmarthenshire, Wales, 2.7 miles (4.3 km) north of the hamlet of Gellywen. The population recorded at the 2011 census was 448. The 2011 census showed 46.0% of the population could speak Welsh, a fall from 62.3% in 2001.In 1844 Samuel Lewis's A Topographical Dictionary of Wales described Llanwinio as being divided into two sections – an Eastern Division and a Western Division, with a population of 1035: with a population of 422 in the Eastern and 613 in the Western Division.The community is bordered by the communities of Trelech, Meidrim, Llangynin and Llanboidy, all in Carmarthenshire, and by Crymych and Clydau, both in Pembrokeshire. Gellywen is home of Ainon Baptist Church, built in 1828 and re-built in 1880.

Pen-y-wenallt is a hamlet in Ceredigion (formerly Cardiganshire), Wales. Pen-y-wenallt lies halfway between Cenarth and Pont Ceri, bordering on Carmarthenshire, and is a constituent of the Parish of Llandygwydd. The River Teifi (or Afon Teifi) flows along its southern border. Pen-y-wenallt was the home of the seventeenth century theologian, Theophilus Evans.

Newcastle Emlyn (Welsh: Castellnewydd Emlyn) is a town on the River Teifi, straddling the counties of Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire in West Wales. It is also a community entirely within Carmarthenshire, bordered by those of Llangeler and Cenarth, also in Carmarthenshire, and by Llandyfriog in Ceredigion. Adpar is the part of town on the Ceredigion side of the River Teifi. It was formerly called Trefhedyn and was an ancient Welsh borough in its own right. The area including Adpar had a population of 1,883 according to the 2011 census.

Newcastle Emlyn was a railway station terminus in the town of Newcastle Emlyn, West Wales, on the proposed broad gauge Teifi Valley line of the Carmarthen and Cardigan Railway.

Cenarth Bridge (Welsh: Pont Cenarth), also spelt Kenarth Bridge, is a three arch bridge which spans the River Teifi at Cenarth, Carmarthenshire in Wales. The bridge was built between 1785 and 1787 and designed by David Edwards, the son of William Edwards who built the Old Bridge at Pontypridd. The bridge straddles the border between Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion. It is both a Grade II* listed structure and a scheduled monument.

Cawdor Hall (Welsh: Neuadd Cawdor), also known as Newcastle Emlyn Town Hall (Welsh: Neuadd y Dref Castellnewydd Emlyn), is a municipal building in the Market Square, Newcastle Emlyn, Carmarthenshire, Wales. The structure, which is currently used as a theatre, is a Grade II listed building.

Aber-arad is a village in Carmarthenshire, Wales. Aber-Arad lies less than one mile to the east of Newcastle Emlyn. In 1870–72, John Marius Wilson in the Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Aber Arad as: ABERARAD, a village in the parish of Kenarth, Carmarthen; a mile east of Newcastle-Emlyn.

The Cenarth Falls is a cascade of waterfalls just upstream of the road bridge in the village of Cenarth in Ceredigion, bordering Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, Wales. They are notable as the first significant barrier on the River Teifi that salmon and migratory seatrout encounter on their return to their home river as they make their way upstream to spawn. Because of this, and the very attractive setting of the falls in a natural wooded valley, the falls have become a significant visitor attraction in Ceredigion, including in the autumn when the fish can be watched leaping up the falls. A dramatic painting of the falls was made by Frank Miles and is now at Nottingham City Museum. Miles's father inherited Cardigan Priory from his father, Philip John Miles, but lived in Nottinghamshire as Rector of Bingham. The less well-known Henllan Falls a few miles upstream of Cenarth provides similar opportunities to watch fish migration. In the 19th and early 20th centuries a leat drew water from behind the falls to power a watermill situated just upstream of the falls on the southern bank. The mill remains to this day but is no longer operational.
