Long Gully railway station

National Park railway station was a railway station in South Australia located on the Adelaide-Wolseley line in the suburb of Belair and within the boundaries of the Belair National Park. It was located 25.8 kilometres from Adelaide station.

Belair National Park (formerly known as the National Park and as Belair Recreation Park) is a protected area in Belair, South Australia, 9 kilometres (5.6 miles) southeast of Adelaide city centre; it covers an area of 835 hectares (2,060 acres). It was proclaimed in 1891 and was the first national park in South Australia, second in Australia (after Sydney's Royal National Park which was proclaimed in 1879) and the tenth in the world. The national park lies within the Adelaide Hills and Mitcham council area, and forms part of a chain of protected areas located along the Adelaide Hills Face Zone. The national park is administered by the Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources.

Upper Sturt is a suburb in the inner south of Adelaide, South Australia. The suburb is nestled in the lower reaches of the Mount Lofty Ranges with the Western Half located in the City of Mitcham local government area, and the eastern portion located in the Adelaide Hills Council Local Government Area. Before being gazetted with a place name, the area was often referred to on civil birth, death and marriage registrations as "near Government Farm", which later became Belair National Park. The Upper Sturt area had two stations on the Adelaide-Bridgewater railway line, which was constructed through the area in the late 1870s: Nalawort and Upper Sturt, both of which have closed and structures mostly removed. Upper Sturt Primary School was founded in 1879, and has approximately 41 students. Upper Sturt Post Office opened on 1 March 1881.There is a small cafe on the main road that also incorporates a general store adjacent to the Upper Sturt General Store. The Upper Sturt Country Fire Service station which is a volunteer fire organisation to protect the area from bushfires.

Old Government House is a historic building located in Belair National Park, South Australia, and was South Australia's first official vice-regal summer residence of the Governor of South Australia from 1860 to 1880, and was used by governors Richard Graves MacDonnell (1855–62), Dominick Daly (1862-68) and William Jervois (1877–80). It was constructed from local sandstone, with the red-brick for the quoins sourced from the Blackwood brickworks, and a native timber shingle roof. The residence's indoor plunge-pool was reportedly the first in the colony.

Crafers West is a suburb of Adelaide in the Adelaide Hills Council. It was formally named in 1985 as a separate address from Crafers. Crafers West contains the headwaters of Brown Hill Creek and is dominated by steep terrain and native scrub. It is bounded by Mount Barker Road on the northeast and the Bridgewater railway line on the south. The Eagle Mountain Bike Park is in the north of the suburb. Popular tourist spots include Clealand Conservation Park, Mt Lofty Botanic Gardens, and Belair National Park Holiday Park. The western part of the suburb of Crafers West is in the City of Mitcham; however, most settlement is in the Adelaide Hills Council. Crafers West is in the state electoral district of Waite and most is in the federal division of Mayo; however, the part that is in the City of Mitcham is in Boothby.

Brown Hill Creek is a south-eastern suburb of Adelaide in the City of Mitcham in South Australia, named in 1991 after Brown Hill Creek which flows from east to west through the locality. The creek itself was named after Brown Hill which rises immediately south-east of Mitcham village. The area beside the creek in the suburbs of Mitcham and Brown Hill Creek was known to the Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains as Wirraparinga, meaning "creek and scrub place". The creek valley south of Brown Hill is home to Brownhill Creek Recreation Park and has been the site a recreation park since the late 1800s. A bathing hole was established at a constructed dam on the creek near Mitcham village in 1894 but was removed eight years later to protect the interests of market gardeners upstream. A a stone plaque declaring a "pleasure resort" from the early part of the 20th century still stands at the entrance to the valley, where Mitcham borders the suburb of Brown Hill Creek. The recreation reserve extends several kilometres upstream into the main creek valley through the heart of the suburb.

Eagle On The Hill is an unbounded locality in the Australian state of South Australia located in the suburb of Crafers West on the western face of the Adelaide Hills overlooking the Adelaide metropolitan area.The village is located on Mount Barker Road, which was formerly the connection from Adelaide to the South Eastern Freeway. Once the freeway was extended through the Heysen Tunnels in 2000, through the ridge underneath Eagle On The Hill, the locality went into a precipitous decline. It is now a relic of its former self; its restaurant, hotel, bottle shop and service stations have all closed, leaving behind a quiet suburb with a small resident population. Eagle On The Hill is now a very popular spot for downhill speedboarders who travel down the road at speeds close to 65 kilometres per hour.

Brown Hill Creek, also known as Willawilla in the Kaurna language, is a watercourse flowing from the Adelaide Hills through in the inner south suburbs of the Adelaide metropolitan area, in the Australian state of South Australia. It is part of the Patawalonga River catchment.

Ironbank is a semi-rural suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. It is in the City of Onkaparinga and Adelaide Hills Council local government areas, approximately 21.9 km from the Adelaide city centre.

The Heysen Tunnels are twin tube road tunnels which carry the South Eastern Freeway under Eagle On The Hill in the Mount Lofty Ranges in South Australia. The tunnels were excavated using a tunnelling machine normally used in heavy-duty mining operations which tunnelled through 500 metres (1,600 ft) of rock for each tunnel at an average rate of 3 metres (9.8 ft) per day. The tunnels were completed in 1998 and opened on 5 March 2000. Each tunnel carries three lanes of traffic. As at 2015, 45,700 vehicles passed through them daily. The maximum height of vehicles permitted in the tunnels is 5.3 metres (17 ft), the same as the Crafers and Mt Osmond interchanges. Laser height detectors monitor traffic to provide warnings to drivers before they attempt to enter the tunnel.The tunnels are named after artist Sir Hans Heysen.
