Abbegea

Abbegaasterketting (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌɑ.bəˌɣaːs.tərˈkɛ.tɪŋ]; West Frisian: Abbegeasterketting or Abbegeaster Ketting) is a hamlet in the Dutch municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân in Friesland. The hamlet is located on the Wijmerts, northwest of Abbega, of which the settlement is a part administratively. Abbegaasterketting originated from a ferry service with tolls across the Wijmerts. The ferry operator's building was first attested as the Abbegaster Ketting Huys in 1718. Therefore, the hamlet's name is a compound of Abbegaaster ('from or of Abbega') and ketting ('chain'). The chain hereby refers to the chain that was drawn across the Wijmerts as part of the toll post.

It had a population of around 730 in January 2017.It is often called Oudega W to avoid confusion with the other villages with the same name, with the W referring to the former municipally Wymbritseradiel. The location of the village on the banks of the lake Aldegeaster Brekken makes it a popular destination for boating, windsurfing and sailing. The village church and the windmill Doris Mooltsje are both Rijksmonument.

Nijland (West Frisian: Nijlân) is a village in Súdwest-Fryslân municipality in the province of Friesland, the Netherlands. It had a population of around 1,000 in January 2017.The coat of arms depicts a pair of oxen linked by a chain, because according to legend a pair of oxen determined the location of the church, and so the village.

Doris Mooltsje is a drainage mill near the village of Oudega, Friesland, Netherlands. It is a hollow post windmill of the type called spinnenkop by the Dutch. The mill is listed as a Rijksmonument, number 527647 and has been restored to working order in 1998.

IJlst is a railway station serving IJlst, Netherlands. It is located on the Leeuwarden–Stavoren railway between Sneek and Stavoren and the current station was opened on 2 June 1985. Owned by Nederlandse Spoorwegen, the train services are operated by Arriva. The original railway station and its adjacent building was first opened on 28 November 1885 and regular service continued until 1938, when IJlst was removed from the train schedule. Train services briefly resumed from May 1940 until April 1941, with the station's building being demolished in 1954, although freight trains continued to stop in IJlst until September 1970. On 2 June 1985, the station was reopened with a small waiting room a few hundred meters to the north of the original location.

IJlst (Dutch pronunciation: [ɛilst]; West Frisian: Drylts pronounced [drilts]) is a city in Friesland, Netherlands. It is located about 3 km southwest of Sneek. It lies within the municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân and had a population of approximately 3,140 in January 2017.
