Napavine, Washington

The Uncle Sam billboard is a large, privately owned billboard in Washington state which displays messages of political commentary. The billboard is located directly adjacent to the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 in Napavine, Washington, around 8 miles (13 km) south of Chehalis, in Lewis County. Since its beginnings in the 1960s, the sign has been used to display the right-wing political opinions of its owners and is considered a local landmark.

Evaline is an unincorporated community in Washington, United States, south of Napavine and 3 miles north of Winlock on State Route 603.

The Port of Chehalis is a local government agency that oversees industrial zones, including an industrial park of the same name, in the city of Chehalis, Washington. The port grew out of an industrial park that was begun and constructed in the mid-1950s by groups of local Chehalis residents. The Chehalis Industrial Park was created out of necessity due to job losses, as well as a declining timber industry, in the city. A new rail line was built on the grounds and Goodyear Tire became the first tenant in 1957. The industrial site was operated as a private operation with several attempts to create a port district into the 1980s. In 1986, the Port of Chehalis was established and remains one of the last port districts created in Washington state. Since the port's beginnings, the agency has expanded the original Chehalis Industrial Park grounds and has added additional sites and landholdings.

Forest is an unincorporated community in Lewis County, in the U.S. state of Washington. It is located on Jackson Highway, between the Port of Chehalis and Washington State Route 508. The area is also called "Newaukum Prairie".

Saint Urban is an unincorporated community in Lewis County, Washington, United States. It is located approximately three miles (4.8 km) northeast of Winlock.

Newaukum, Washington is an unincorporated community located directly south of Chehalis, Washington in Lewis County. The community's name, which is theorized to mean "gently flowing waters", was spelled in various ways during its early formation, including Naw-waw-kum and Newaucum. Settlement of the town began in 1852 and a first post office was established in 1856. The community grew after the construction of a Northern Pacific Railroad line in 1872 which bisected the area. After the railroad company requested a main depot on the tracks in Lewis County, Chehalis was ultimately chosen over Newaukum due to a combination of petitioning by Chehalis residents and travel difficulties through Newaukum. A small station was built in Newaukum and the town further developed to accompany the increase in the shipment of grain and timber production in the region. The community increased in size enough to briefly be considered as a county seat. By the turn of the 20th century, Newaukum contained a school, several shops and stores, and continued to be home to several sawmills and lumber manufacturing facilities. With the creation of new mail routes in the county, the Newaukum post office was discontinued in 1907. The Newaukum Grange was created the same year and the community constructed the Newaukum Valley Schoolhouse in 1914. By the 1940s, the school was no longer used but both the building, and the grange organization, remained an active part of the community into the 21st century.

William F. West High School, commonly referred to as W. F. West, is a public high school in Chehalis, Washington, United States. It is the only high school in the Chehalis School District. It was named for local businessman William F. West, who donated money and land to the school district. The school prides itself in the amount of scholarships given out yearly. Many students travel out of district to attend. The school added a brand new science wing in 2018.

Stan Hedwall Park is the largest park in Chehalis, Washington at 204-acres (83 ha). It is located west of I-5, and southeast of Lintott-Alexander Park and the beginning trailhead for the Willapa Hills Trail.The ballfields host competitions for the Babe Ruth League and various high school sports in Lewis County, acting as home field for W.F. West High School.

Chehalis School District No. 302 is a public school district in Lewis County, Washington, United States and serves the city of Chehalis. Chehalis is on the I-5 corridor, half way between Seattle, Washington and Portland, Oregon.

The Recreation Park Complex is located in Chehalis, Washington in the city's South Market district near the Green Hill School. The venue, also known as the Chehalis Sports Complex, contains four distinct parks within its borders, providing recreation for athletics, walking, swimming, and playground activities.

Jackson Prairie Underground Natural Gas Storage Facility is a natural gas storage facility in Southwest Washington, owned by Puget Sound Energy, Avista and Williams Companies's Northwest Pipeline GP. With 25 billion cubic feet working capacity (47 billion cubic feet total capacity), it is the largest natural gas-storage reservoir in the Pacific Northwest and the 14th largest in the United States.

Green Hill School is part of Washington state's correctional system under the Juvenile Rehabilitation Administration, and is the state's only maximum security penitentiary for youths. It is located in the South Market district of Chehalis on I-5, next to Recreation Park. The school is independently managed by the Washington Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF). It provides "academic classes and vocational training and works" for adolescent males who have been incarcerated.
