St Mary's Church, Tilston

Horton-by-Malpas is a former civil parish, now in the parish of Shocklach Oviatt and District, in the borough of Cheshire West and Chester and ceremonial county of Cheshire in England. In 2001 it had a population of 62. The parish included the hamlet of Horton Green.

Lower Carden Hall is a historic house in the civil parish of Carden, Cheshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building. The oldest part of the house is the north wing which dates back to the 15th century, or earlier. A south cross-wing was added in the middle of the 16th century and the north wing was enlarged and re-fronted in the early 17th century. Alterations and additions were made to the rear of the house in the late 19th century. The major part of the house is timber-framed with oak frames and plaster panels on a sandstone plinth. The north end gable is built in stone and brick. The rear wing is of brick with steeply pitched grey slate roofs. On the north gable and on south wall of the cross-wing are massive projecting chimneys of stone and brick. The house was substantially restored in about 1984 with a brick inner skin and steelwork.

Chorlton Old Hall is a country house in the parish of Chorlton, Cheshire, England. The house was built in 1666, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed in red-brown brick, and has slate roofs. The house has a T-shaped plan. It formerly had an E-plan, but one wing has been demolished. The house is in 2½ storeys and its entrance front has four bays. The right-hand bay projects and has a shaped gable. The second bay is the entrance bay; this also projects and has a shaped gable, but is smaller. Dormer windows have been inserted in the roof in the first and third bays. The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building.

The mill is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building and the mill machinery is considered to be of national importance.

Stretton is a hamlet and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. The small, rural parish also includes the hamlet of Wetreins Green (pronounced Wetrens or Wet-er-ans). It is near the Welsh border, approximately thirteen miles south of Chester and about eight miles east of Wrexham in Wales. Notable landmarks within the parish are Stretton Hall, Stretton Lower Hall, Stretton Old Hall, and also the working museum Stretton Watermill. Stretton means "settlement on a Roman road", derived from the Old English strǣt and tūn. In this case the road was the Via Devana, which ran between Whitchurch in Shropshire and Chester. Stretton was a township in Tilston parish of Broxton Hundred, which became a civil parish in 1866. The population was recorded as 84 in 1801, then 71 in 1851, 119 in 1901 and 104 in 1951. In 2001 the village population had fallen to 51. According to the 2001 census, the civil parish was combined with neighbouring Barton civil parish and the figure was given as 122. In the 2011 census Barton and Stretton were again combined. The population had increased by one to 123.

Stretton Old Hall is in the parish of Stretton in Cheshire, England. It was built in the 17th century, and extended in the 19th century. It is constructed in brick with a slate roof. The entrance front includes a two-storey porch with a shaped gable and a larger shaped gable on a cross wing to the right. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

Chorlton Hall is a country house in the parish of Chorlton, Cheshire, England. It stands some 1.5 miles (2.4 km) northwest of Malpas. The house dates from the 17th century, with additions made in the second quarter of the 19th century. Its entrance front is pebbledashed and it stands on a stone plinth. The roof is slated. The house is in 2½ storeys plus cellars. Across the front are three bays, each with a gable, and with the central bay protruding. On the gables are ball finials. The porch has an ogee-arched entrance. The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. A stable block and two cottages to the southeast of the house have also been designated at Grade II.

Stretton Hall is a country house in the parish of Stretton in Cheshire, England. It was built in about 1763 for John Leche. The house is constructed in brick on a sandstone basement, with painted stone dressings, and a slate roof. It has three symmetrical elevations. The entrance front is in three two-storey bays with a single-storey wing on each side. The central bay is canted, with five steps leading up to a doorway with a pediment. The windows are sashes. The garden front has similar windows, other than the wings, each of which contains a Venetian window. To the right of the house is attached a further wing, converted from the 17th-century stable of an earlier house. The house and former stable area is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. The sandstone garden walls are listed at Grade II.

Stretton Lower Hall is in the parish of Stretton in Cheshire, England. It was built in 1660, on a site that was originally moated. The house is constructed in brick with a slate roof and a sandstone cellar. It has three storeys plus a cellar, with a symmetrical front containing shaped gables. There are dentil bands of brick between the storeys. The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.
