Dubwath

Bassenthwaite Lake railway station was situated on the Cockermouth, Keswick and Penrith Railway between Penrith and Cockermouth in Cumbria, England. The station served the village of Dubwath. The station opened to passenger traffic on 2 January 1865, and closed on 18 April 1966. A camping coach was positioned here by the London Midland Region in 1954 this was increased to three coaches in 1955 and then two coaches from 1956 to 1964.The station building and one platform are still visible from the A66 through the trees although the station fell into a state of disrepair and lost its roof. The Station Master's house remains on the side of the A66 but the east bound platform and goods yards are now part of the road. In 2019 a replica French-style steam locomotive with Wagons-Lits carriages used in the 2017 film of Murder on the Orient Express were installed on the site as part of a tourist development.

Routenbeck is a hamlet in Cumbria, England. It is located at the northern foot of Sale Fell, near the north-west edge of Bassenthwaite Lake. Routenbeck is just over 2 miles south-west of the village of Bassenthwaite and 5 miles east of the town of Cockermouth. It contains an Old Vicarage. The nearest pub is the Pheasant Inn, about a third of a mile along the road to the north-east.

Sale Fell is a small hill near Cockermouth in the English Lake District. It is one of the smallest Wainwrights, but is nevertheless popular with locals, as it offers gentle walking and lovely views across Bassenthwaite Lake to Skiddaw.

Setmurthy is a civil parish in Allerdale, Cumbria, England, historically part of Cumberland, within the Lake District National Park in England. In the 2011 census it had a population of 110. The spelling "Satmurthawe" is seen in 1473.The River Derwent forms the northern and eastern boundary of the parish, separating it from Blindcrake. Bassenthwaite Lake forms the eastern boundary, and the parish is then bordered by Above Derwent to the south east, Embleton to the west and south, and Cockermouth and Bridekirk to the west. The main settlement is the hamlet of Dubwath.The parish church of St Barnabas, built in 1794, is grade II listed; it is in the Diocese of Carlisle and the Binsey Mission Community.Watch Hill, also known as Setmurthy Common, reaches 254 metres (833 ft) and because of its relative isolation qualifies as a marilyn, a hill with 150 m of topographic prominence. Alfred Wainwright includes it in his The Outlying Fells of Lakeland, recommending an ascent from the west and a return on the same route. He comments that "It is easily attained with a minimum of effort: a stroll on grass so simple that boots are incongruous footwear for it and bare feet appropriate".

Wythop is a civil parish in the north of Cumbria, England, between Cockermouth and Keswick. Population details are no longer maintained and can be found included in the parish of Embleton Wythop is within one mile of the hamlets of Dubwath (in the parish of Setmurthy) and Wythop Mill (in Embleton). Administratively Wythop forms part of the district of Allerdale.

Ling Fell is a small hill in the north west of the Lake District in the United Kingdom. It is close to the village of Wythop Mill, from where it can easily be climbed. The fell is shaped like a wide dome, with no particular dangers. Its name derives from the fact that it is largely covered in heather, also known as "ling". The summit has good views of the town of Cockermouth.

Broom Fell is a small hill in the English Lake District. It lies on a ridge connecting Lord's Seat and Graystones, but is rarely climbed. Alfred Wainwright did however accord it the status of a separate fell in his influential guidebook series, the Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells.

Isel is a dispersed settlement and area in the valley of the River Derwent within the Lake District National Park in Cumbria, England. It is an ecclesiastical parish within the civil parish of Blindcrake. Nearby are the hamlets of Setmurthy, Sunderland and Redmain, and the village of Blindcrake. Isel is a rural community, with a church, a manorial Hall and several farms ranging from dairy to poultry, but lacking basic local facilities having no shop, public house or post office. It is mentioned in the English folk song "Horn of the Hunter." Isel Parish Church is dedicated to St Michael and the fabric is chiefly Norman. The church contains two pre-Norman carved stones, one of which is a fragment of a cross. Other buildings of interest are Isel Hall (with a pele tower), the ancient bridge of three arches (rebuilt in 1812) and the old vicarage.

Lord's Seat is a fell in the English Lake District. It is the highest of the group of hills north of Whinlatter Pass in the North Western Fells. The slopes of Lord's Seat are extensively forested.

Barf is a fell in the north-western Lake District in Cumbria, UK. It stands on the south-western shore of Bassenthwaite Lake. Barf is well known for a whitewashed pillar of rock on the lower slopes, the so-called "Bishop's Rock" or "Bishop of Barf". The name is thought to be a derivative of "burgh".
