Mill River Union High School, commonly known as Mill River or MRU is a public junior-senior high school in Clarendon, Vermont, in the United States. It is part of the Mill River Unified Union School District. MRUUSD includes the towns of Clarendon, Wallingford, Shrewsbury and Tinmouth. Other towns whose students attend Mill River include Ira, Ludlow, Middletown Springs and Danby. The current principal is Kaelyne Thompson. The current superintendent of the district is Brian Hill.

Rutland–Southern Vermont Regional Airport (IATA: RUT, ICAO: KRUT, FAA LID: RUT), is a state-owned, public use airport located five nautical miles (6 mi, 9 km) south of the central business district of Rutland, a city in Rutland County, Vermont, United States. Situated in North Clarendon, it was formerly known as Rutland State Airport. Scheduled commercial service is subsidized by the Essential Air Service and provided by Cape Air, with three flights daily on eleven-passenger Tecnam P2012 Traveller aircraft to Boston with typical flight times of 40 minutes.Rutland–Southern Vermont Regional Airport is the closest commercial service airport to the mountain resorts of Killington, Pico, Okemo, Stratton, Bromley, Magic Mountain, and Mount Snow .

North Clarendon is an unincorporated village in the town of Clarendon, Rutland County, Vermont, United States. It is part of the North Clarendon Census Designated Place, which extends north along U.S. Route 7 into the town of Rutland. The village is located south of the Cold River, 3 miles (5 km) south of Rutland city. North Clarendon has a post office with ZIP code 05759.

The Cold River Bridge was a historic bridge that carried Vermont Route 7B (VT 7B) across the Cold River in Clarendon, Vermont. The bridge, a steel Parker through truss, was built by the American Bridge Company in 1928, and was one of many bridges built in the state in the wake of devastating 1927 floods. It carried U.S. Route 7 (US 7) until bypassed by a bridge to the east, and was closed in 1989. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. It was subsequently demolished after a report noting substantial failures.

The Cold River is a 12.9-mile-long (20.8 km) tributary of Otter Creek in Rutland County, Vermont, in the United States. The Cold River rises northeast of North Shrewsbury in the Coolidge Range, part of the Green Mountains. It flows southwest through North Shrewsbury, then turns northwest to the town line with Clarendon, where it turns west and flows through the village of North Clarendon. It reaches Otter Creek 1 mile (2 km) west of North Clarendon, just north of the Rutland town line. The Cold River is crossed by the Appalachian Trail and by U.S. Route 7.

Diamond Run Mall was an enclosed shopping mall in Rutland, Vermont, United States. Opened in 1995, it was the second mall in the city after Rutland Mall. Despite initial success, the mall was hampered by financial issues through its developer and owner, Zamias Services, Inc. At its peak, the mall featured over 60 stores, with J. C. Penney, Sears, and Kmart as the anchor stores. The mall declined severely in tenancy throughout the Great Recession, and ultimately closed in October 2019.

The Clarendon House is a historic former hotel building on Clarendon Springs Lane in Clarendon, Vermont. Built about 1835 and enlarged in the 1850s, it is one of Vermont's finest examples of pre-Civil War resort architecture, and a rare little-altered survivor of that period. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. It and adjacent buildings are (as of 2015) vacant and for sale.

The Brown Covered Bridge is a wooden covered bridge in Shrewsbury, Vermont. Located in the northwestern part of the town, it carries Upper Cold River Road over the Cold River. It was closed to vehicular traffic in 2011 due to damage from Hurricane Irene and reopened on July 5, 2016. Built in 1880 by noted Vermont bridgewright Nichols M. Powers, it was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2014, cited as one of the finest and least-altered examples of a Town lattice truss covered bridge in the United States.

The Arthur Perkins House is a historic house at 242 South Main Street in Rutland, Vermont. Built in 1915, it is a Colonial Revival brick house with unusual cast and poured concrete trim elements. It was built for the owner of a nearby clay processing business. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The Rutland Senate District is one of 16 districts of the Vermont Senate. The current district plan is included in the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2020 U.S. Census, which applies to legislatures elected in 2022, 2024, 2026, 2028, and 2030. The Rutland District includes all of Rutland County except the town of Mount Holly, which is in the Windsor district. As of the 2010 census, the state as a whole had a population of 625,741. As there are a total of 30 Senators, there were 20,858 residents per senator.

The Vermont State Fairgrounds are the official fairgrounds of Vermont, USA and are located in Rutland, Vermont. The fairgrounds are best known for it being the location of the Vermont State Fair.

Calvin Coolidge State Forest, also known as Coolidge State Forest, covers 22,564 acres (91.31 km2) in two parts in Rutland and Windsor counties in Vermont. The West portion cover 17,259 acres (69.84 km2) in Killington, Mendon, Plymouth and Shrewsbury in both counties. The East portion cover 5,305 acres (21.47 km2) in Bridgewater, Plymouth, Reading, and Woodstock in Windsor County.The forest is managed by the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation for timber resources, wildlife habitat, and recreational activities. Activities in the forest include camping, hiking, picnicking, fishing, hunting, trapping, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling.
