Llanfihangel Aberbythych

Carmel is a village in Carmarthenshire, Wales near the village of Cross Hands. Carmel is on the A476 and is approximately half way between Crosshands and Llandeilo. Nearby is the National Nature Reserve "Carmel Woods", managed jointly by the Grasslands Trust, Tarmac, and the Countryside Council for Wales. Carmel also lies near the Ogof Twn Siôn Cati and Carreg Cennen Castle caves.

The Carmel transmitting station, located half a mile (0.8km) SSW of the village of Carmel in Carmarthenshire, has been broadcasting terrestrial TV and radio services since the mid-1970s. The TV coverage area for the Carmel transmission station includes most of Carmarthenshire, the southern and eastern parts of Pembrokeshire; the southern fringes of Powys and Ceredigion; the northern part of Swansea. The Carmel signal is also receivable in parts of Neath Port Talbot, Bridgend and Rhondda Cynon Taff. Places as far away as Merthyr Tydfil and the north Devon coast are also able to receive signals from Carmel. Carmel started to switch over to digital terrestrial TV broadcast services on 26 August 2009.

Maesybont is a small village near Gorslas in Carmarthenshire, West Wales. The community consists of one school, a Welsh chapel with graveyard and several homes. The houses are widely dispersed, with an average of 1-acre (4,000 m2) of land apiece. Many of the homes in the village of Maesybont are large by European standards, differentiated predominantly by having Fritzl Barns, rather than traditional Dutch barns. The local community benefits from a smallholding 100m down from the Chapel that sells free range eggs. "Maesybont" is roughly translated as "Bridge over the field". The views from the area are incredible, many famous local residents have noe left unfortunately.

Cernydd Carmel is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in Carmarthenshire, Wales. Carmel Woods National Nature Reserve is located on part of the SSSI, and is open to the public.Pant-y-Llyn at Cernydd Carmel is the only turlough in Britain, a type of seasonal lake found in limestone areas, the other examples of which are in Ireland. Pant-y-Llyn fills to a depth of about 3 metres (10 ft) each autumn, and remains full until it empties completely into a sink hole the following summer. There are no surface drainage streams.

Llyn Llech Owain is a shallow lake with an area of 3.5 hectares (8.6 acres) which gives its name to the country park in which it sits, it is also a Site of Special Scientific Interest which was designated in 1993. The country park is managed by Carmarthenshire County Council and has an area of 73 hectares (180 acres). The park is near the village of Gorslas with its entrance on Church Road.

Caeau Blaen-yr-Orfa is an unimproved grassland that is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in Carmarthen & Dinefwr, Wales.

Milo is a small village of some 50 homes in the parish of Llanfihangel Aberbythych, some three miles north of Ammanford in Carmarthenshire, Wales. According to the 2001 census, the parish is home to 1,277 inhabitants.

Caeau Rhyd-y-gwiail is an area of grassland that is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in Carmarthen & Dinefwr, Wales.

Golden Grove (Welsh: Gelli Aur) is a mansion and estate in the Welsh county of Carmarthenshire, located 4 miles (6 km) southwest of Llandeilo.

Gorslas is a village and community in Carmarthenshire, Wales, located on the A476 road northwest of Cross Hands. The village population at the 2011 census was 4,066. Neighbouring villages are Cefneithin and Penygroes. The community is bordered by the Carmarthenshire communities of Llanarthney, Llanfihangel Aberbythych, Llandybie, Llannon, Pontyberem, and Llanddarog. The community includes the settlements of Drefach, Cwmmawr, Foelgastell, and Cefneithin. Gorslas will have a new primary school, opening on 7 September 2022, a year later than planned following the coronavirus pandemic. The school will be a community based centre with local groups able to make use of its facilities.

Gelli Aur (meaning: Golden Grove) is a country park in Carmarthenshire, Wales, with 60 acres (240,000 m2) of wooded parkland surrounding Golden Grove mansion. It was once the home of the Vaughan and Cawdor families. The park featured a number of nature trails, a 20-acre (81,000 m2) deer park, a 10-acre (40,000 m2) Aboretum planted in the 1860s. The park was managed for many years by Carmarthenshire County Council. The park is registered (as Golden Grove) at Grade II* on the Cadw/ICOMOS Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in Wales.The mansion features crow stepped gables, a battlemented portico and tall polygonal chimney stacks. The original Vaughan mansion, built between 1565 and 1570, no longer exists. In 1804 the last of the Vaughans died childless and the Gelli Aur estate passed to the Cawdor family. It was they who built the present mansion between 1827 and 1832. The building was designed by Jeffry Wyatville who had recently worked on the renovations at Windsor Castle. The mansion is now privately owned, and a long programme of restoration is underway.Since the middle of the 20th century, the house has had a checkered history. During World War Two, it housed American airmen. In more recent times, the big house was leased to Carmarthenshire County Council, and one of the five campuses of Carmarthenshire College (Coleg Sir Gâr) was located there. In 2015, as part of a ten-year plan to restore the estate, a grant of close to £1 million was arranged with the Welsh Government. The first stage including enabling public access to the parkland and gardens with tea-rooms, a play area, educational activities and trails. The match funding necessary for the third year phase of works did not materialise and therefore the majority of the grant could not be drawn down.

Ffynnon-ddrain is a settlement in Carmarthenshire, Wales, one mile north-west of the town of Carmarthen, 24 miles north-west of the major city of Swansea, 56 miles north-west of Cardiff, and 182 miles west of London. Ffynnon-ddrain was historically in the county of Carmarthenshire. It is situated nearby to Cwmoernant and Quarry Cottage. The village is home to Elim Welsh Independent Chapel.
