Stallings Air Base

Kinston Regional Jetport (IATA: ISO, ICAO: KISO, FAA LID: ISO), also known as Stallings Field, is a public airport located three miles (5 km) northwest of the central business district of Kinston, a city in Lenoir County, North Carolina. The airport has a single runway that is one of the longest in the southeastern United States. It is mostly used for general aviation. East Carolina University utilizes the airport for flights involving its athletic teams and other university personnel. Teams visiting ECU also fly in and out of Kinston. Its runway is long enough to accommodate large jets chartered by college football teams. The Kinston Regional Jetport features free parking as well as free wireless Internet access in its terminal. The terminal also houses several businesses, including Philbros Gift and Coffee Shop as well as Robert Franchise Transportation, a commercial transportation service. Rental car agencies are located in the terminal. One of the central features of the Kinston Regional Jetport is the Global TransPark (GTP), an industrial park adjoining the airport. It was built to bring high-tech industry and economic development to eastern North Carolina. Spirit AeroSystems manufactures parts of the Airbus A350 at its Kinston facility at GTP.

The North Carolina Global TransPark (GTP) is a 2,500 acre, multi-modal industrial/airport site in Eastern North Carolina. As an agency of the State of North Carolina, the GTP is considered a key engine for driving the economy of Eastern North Carolina. The park offers access to multi-modal transportation options: air, rail, highways, and North Carolina's two international ports. The GTP is part of an economic development initiative in eastern North Carolina intended to spur transition in the region from an agricultural base to one of skilled labor and industrial manufacturing. Industries targeted by the GTP are aerospace, defense and logistics sectors.

Arendell Parrott Academy is a non-sectarian private school located in Kinston, North Carolina, for grades K–12. The school was the vision of Marion Parrot, a local attorney and state representative. After struggling for a few years to gain support, the untimely death of their son, Arendall, provided the inspiration to Parrott family to open the school. However, their efforts did not come to fruition for several years, when Federally forced desegregation of the public schools created an interest among White Parents to flee to private schools. While there were no Black students, some people linked to the school deny that it was founded as a segregation academy in response to the court ordered integration of public schools, while one founder stated that it was not a choice for Black students.

Tull–Worth–Holland Farm is a historic farm and national historic district located near Kinston, Lenoir County, North Carolina. It encompasses 14 contributing buildings and 1 contributing site. The district includes a significant cross section of domestic and agricultural buildings constructed between 1825 and 1942. The farmhouse was built about 1825, and is a two-story, Federal style frame dwelling. It has a gable roof, exterior end chimneys, and hall-and-parlor plan. Other contributing resources are the Cook's House (c. 1890), privy / chicken house (c. 1850, c. 1930), Delco house (c. 1900), playhouse (c. 1925), barn (c. 1880), stable (c. 1870), cotton gin (c. 1880), five tobacco barns (c. 1900–1925), and a tenant house (c. 1875, c. 1900). It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

The Episcopal Diocese of East Carolina is a diocese of the Episcopal Church in the United States that covers most of eastern North Carolina. The diocese was formed from the existing Diocese of North Carolina on October 9, 1883, by action of the General Convention of the Episcopal Church. It consists of the congregations of the Episcopal Church in the eastern portion of the state of North Carolina and forms part of Province IV of the Episcopal Church. Major cities of the diocese include Wilmington, Fayetteville, New Bern, and Greenville. Originally its offices were located in Wilmington, but in 1983 a new diocesan house was built in Kinston, North Carolina, in order to be located more centrally in the diocese's territory. The diocese's current bishop is Robert Skirving.

UNC Health Lenoir is a not-for-profit hospital located in Kinston, North Carolina. The hospital is licensed for 199 beds and serves the residents of Lenoir, Greene and Jones and other surrounding counties. The hospital is staffed with over 100 physicians. The hospital offers inpatient, outpatient and preventive healthcare services. In addition, the hospital offers free educational health programs, seminars, and screenings. General services include general medical, surgical, obstetrical and gynecological care. Specialized services include cardiology, pulmonology, oncology, radiology, urology, orthopedics and orthopedic sports medicine, bariatric surgery and vascular surgery In 1986, the Lenoir Memorial Foundation was established. In 1965, the old Lenoir Memorial Hospital was outdated and too small to serve the growing community of Kinston and Lenoir County, and expansion or renovation was deemed unsatisfactory. In June 1973, a new $11 million, 435-bed facility opened.

Kinston High School is a four-year public high school located in Kinston, North Carolina, United States. Kinston High was built in 1970 as an integrated high school to serve the city. The International Baccalaureate program started at Kinston High during the 2003–2004 school year. In fall 2004, Kinston High School was the first school in Lenoir County to start up a program called Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID). This program began in California and from there it went around the world. Kinston High School graduated the first AVID class of Lenoir County in 2008 with 25 students receiving AVID diplomas.

Caswell Developmental Center is a center for adults with intellectual disabilities and other developmental disabilities in Kinston, North Carolina, United States. The Center started in 1911 and is still operating today.

Temple Israel is a Reform synagogue located in Kinston, North Carolina. Established by Eastern European Jews in 1903, it is one of the oldest synagogues in North Carolina. Having started and functioning as an Orthodox congregation during its first fifty years, it eventually transformed into a Reform congregation.

Kinston Apartments is a historic apartment complex located in Kinston, Lenoir County, North Carolina. It was built about 1940, and is a five building Colonial Revival style brick-faced complex, with the buildings positioned in a "U"-shape. The buildings are two-story, with full basements, and have Moderne style decorative elements. Three of the buildings have four apartment units, with two having two three-bedroom apartments. The buildings were renovated in 2003. It is locally referred to as Kinston Oaks. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

WRNS-FM is an FM radio station located in Kinston, North Carolina in the United States. Its format is contemporary country. Broadcasting at 95.1 MHz, the station has a non-directional signal of 100,000 watts, that reaches "from the capital to the coast". The station has served Kinston and eastern North Carolina since the 1960s, when it was WFTC-FM. At one time, it was the only country station in the area and had one of the highest market shares of any station. Known for its generosity, the station has held a radiothon for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital annually for the past 5 years. The station is constantly ranked as the #1 station in its market by Arbitron. The WRNS-FM transmitter antenna is located on WCTI-TV's tower north of Trenton, North Carolina. Studios are located in New Bern. In September 2017, Dick Broadcasting announced the purchase of Alpha Media stations in three markets — 18 stations and two translators in total, at a purchase price of $19.5 million. The acquisition of WRNS-FM by Dick Broadcasting was consummated on December 20, 2017. Jim Mantel, who spent 18 years on WGAR-FM in Cleveland and was named to the Country Radio Hall of Fame in 2017, retired in 2018 after hosting the morning show since 2010, joined by Crystal Legends in 2012. Bobby Bones moved from co-owned WQSL/WQZL to replace Mantel, and Legends, also program director, moved to middays.

Licensed to Kinston, North Carolina, United States, the station is owned by Dick Broadcasting, through licensee Dick Broadcasting Company, Inc. of Tennessee.
