Heart of England Forest

Dorsington is a village and civil parish in the Stratford-on-Avon district, in the county of Warwickshire, England. Dorsington was in Gloucestershire until 1931, when it was transferred to Warwickshire. It is located 2¾ miles west of Milcote railway station. The place-name 'Dorsington' is first attested in an Anglo-Saxon charter of 710, where it appears as Dorsintone. It is recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086 as Dorsintune. The name means 'the town or settlement of Deorsige's people'. In the 2001 census, it had a population of 138 (64 males; 74 females; living in 49 houses). By the 2011 Census, the population had increased to 150. The parish church of St Peter's is a Grade II* listed building built in 1764–1768. Dorsington was the original centre of the Heart of England Forest, begun by the businessman and philanthropist Felix Dennis.

Binton railway station was a railway station serving Binton in the English county of Warwickshire. Opened by the Evesham Redditch and Stratford-upon-Avon Junction Railway between Broom Junction and Stratford upon Avon, it was adjacent to the Evesham Road midway between Binton and Welford-on-Avon.

Welford-on-Avon is a village situated some 4 miles (6 km) west-south-west of Stratford-upon-Avon in the county of Warwickshire, England. The population was measured at 1,420 in the 2011 census. Until 1931, Welford-on-Avon was in Gloucestershire (as part of the Rural District of Marston Sicca), when it was transferred to Stratford-on-Avon Rural District. Since 1974 it has been part of the Stratford-on-Avon District. Welford sits within a meander of the river Avon, on the south bank of the river. The village maypole is one of the tallest in England (at 65 feet / 20 metres). It used to be wooden but was replaced by an aluminium pole after a lightning strike. There are three pubs and many Tudor half-timbered and thatched cottages, mostly close to the village church, which is in the oldest part of Welford. Historically there were two railway station within two miles of the centre of the village, Binton (1885-1949) and Milcote (1859-1966).

Grafton Preceptory was a priory in Temple Grafton, Warwickshire, England that belonged to the Knights Hospitalier. The village had no connection with the Knights Templer, but acquired this name due to an administrative error during the reign of Henry VIII, by which time the Hospitaliers had been associated with the site for over three hundred years. The Preceptory was closely associated with Balsall Preceptory and the office of Preceptor for these two was often united.

Ardens Grafton is a hamlet or small village in the Stratford-on-Avon District of Warwickshire, England, situated about 4 miles (6.4 km) east of Alcester and 14 miles (23 km) west of the county town of Warwick. It has a main street and consists mostly of houses constructed of local stone with tiled roofs, with the exception of two properties, 'Manor Cottage' and 'Chapel House' both of which have timber-framed walls and a thatched roof. Two other buildings retain fragments of ancient framing. During the reign of Edward III in 1347 the village was recorded as Grafton Inferior while neighbouring Temple Grafton (where the population details can be found), 0.50 miles (0.80 km) to the East, was named Superior Other designations used during the Middle Ages were Nether Grafton, Grafton Inferior or Grafton Minor whilst the larger village of Temple Grafton was distinguished as Over Grafton, Grafton Superior, Church Grafton, or Grafton Major. A reference to 'Temple Grafton alias Ardens Grafton' occurs in 1650.

Binton is a village and civil parish in the Stratford district of Warwickshire, England. It is about five miles (8.0 km) west of Stratford-upon-Avon. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 272, increasing to 311 at the 2011 census.

Pebworth is a village and civil parish in the county of Worcestershire, lying about 5 miles north-north-west of the town of Chipping Campden in Gloucestershire. Until 1931, the parish – which includes the hamlet of Broad Marston – was itself also in Gloucestershire, as part of Pebworth Rural District. Pebworth is bordered to the north and north-east by the parishes of Dorsington and Long Marston, which are today in Warwickshire. The Priory of Pebworth is a Grade II listed building.

Temple Grafton is a village and civil parish in the Stratford district of Warwickshire, England, situated about 4 miles (6.4 km) east of Alcester and 14 miles (23 km) west of the county town of Warwick. The place name is misleading, the Knights Templar never having any association with the place but owing to a naming error made in the time of Henry VIII the mistake has been perpetuated. During the reign of Richard I the estate in fact belonged to the Knights Hospitaller. During the reign of Edward III in 1347 the village was recorded as Grafton Superior while neighbouring Ardens Grafton was named Inferior

Long Marston is a village about 5 miles (8 km) southwest of Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire, England. The southern and western boundaries of the parish form part of the county boundary with Worcestershire. The civil parish is called Marston Sicca. The 2011 Census recorded the parish's population as 436.
