Marcoussis (French pronunciation: [maʁkusi] ) is a commune in the southern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located 24.8 km (15.4 mi) from the center of Paris. Marcoussis is the location of the CNR (National Centre of Rugby) where the French national rugby union team prepare for international competitions. It is at the CNR that the Linas-Marcoussis Agreement was signed in January 2003 between belligerents in the Ivorian Civil War. A market village until the 1960s, Marcoussis supplied the markets of Paris with tomatoes and strawberries. A small train route, the Arpajonnais, inaugurated in 1894, took food at 4am every morning, it ceased functioning in 1937.

The 1933 UCI Road World Championships was the thirteenth edition of the UCI Road World Championships, organized on Monday 14 August 1933. The championship took place on a race circuit, the Autodrome de Linas-Montlhéry in Montlhéry, France.. The amateurs rode their 125 km race in the morning, the professional riders (250 km) in the afternoon. In the same period, the 1933 UCI Track Cycling World Championships was organized in the Parc des Princes in Paris.

Autodrome de Montlhéry (established 4 October 1924) is a motor racing circuit, officially called L’autodrome de Linas-Montlhéry, owned by Utac, located south-west of the small town of Montlhéry about 30 km (19 mi) south of Paris.

The Château de Montlhéry is a castle in the commune of Montlhéry in the Essonne département of France. Ruins date from various periods, most notably the 10th, 11th, 13th and 14th centuries.The present 13th-century castle, with its prominent keep, succeeded a castle built in the 11th century, and an earlier foundation, built from 991 to 1015. The castle is a rectilinear pentagonal plan, with five surviving towers, one of which is much larger than the rest and serves as the keep, forming the point of the pentagon, at the end of the ridge. A gate tower protected the entrance on the opposite site. Recent evidence suggests that there may have a second court or bailey extending in front of the present gate, as well as a substantial chapel inside the presumed lower court. Thanks to its position, the keep was notably connected with the scientific experiments of Pierre Gassendi (measurement of the speed of sound), Claude Chappe (experiments with optical telegraphy in 1794) and Alfred Cornu (measurement of the speed of light in 1874). Visitors today can see the keep, the well, the moat and the remains of the curtain wall. The castle is state property. It has been listed since 1840 as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture.

Villebon-sur-Yvette (French pronunciation: [vilbɔ̃ syʁ ivɛt] , literally Villebon on Yvette) is a commune in the Essonne department in Île-de-France in northern France, about 20 kilometers south of Paris. Thanks to the presence of the business centers of Courtaboeuf and Grand Dôme as well as the commercial center of Villebon 2, it has become one of the richest communes in the department.

Leuville Cemetery (also known as Leuville sur Orge Communal Cemetery) is in the French town of Leuville-sur-Orge, 25 km south of Paris. The cemetery is a burial ground to many prominent Georgian political emigres who had left country after the Soviet invasion of Georgia of 1921. Among them are the members of the Government of the Democratic Republic of Georgia in Exile.
