Borssele is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Borsele, and lies about 12 km east of Vlissingen. The municipality name is spelled with a single s while the name of the town is spelled with a double s. Borssele is home to the Borssele nuclear power plant. The village's near-symmetrical street plan from 1616 follows a rectangular design with four streets all leading to a central square (called the "Plein"). The streets are named according to their cardinal directions.
