Exeter, Rhode Island

Rhode Island's 2nd congressional district is a congressional district in southern and western Rhode Island. The district is currently represented by Democrat Seth Magaziner, who has represented the district since January 2023.

WEAN-FM (99.7 MHz, "News Talk 99.7 FM & AM 630 WPRO") is a radio station licensed to Wakefield-Peacedale, Rhode Island. The station is owned by Cumulus Media, and airs a news-talk format. WEAN-FM is a full-time simulcast of WPRO (630 AM) in Providence, serving as WPRO's satellite in southern Rhode Island. Operations are based at WPRO's studios in East Providence. Prior to becoming WEAN-FM on March 11, 2008, 99.7 was modern rock "99.7 The Edge" WUAE, later WDGE; hard rock "99.7X" WXEX; classic rock simulcast "The Hawk"; 1980s music simulcast "Z100" (as WZRA) and finally "The Score" (WSKO-FM), which broadcast a sports format that simulcast most programming from WSKO (now WPRV).

Lawton's Mill (also known as the Albro Mill) is a historic mill located on Ten Rod Road in Exeter, Rhode Island. The mill property includes an 18th-century house, an early 19th-century wood-frame mill building, and a 19th-century barn with early 20th-century additions. Also surviving from the period of the mill's activity are dams and waterways associated with it, including a dam and raceway extending several hundred feet north of the mill building. The mill building, which was built c. 1820, is one of a very small number of mill buildings to survive from the period in Rhode Island.The mill was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 27, 1980.

The Fisherville Historic and Archeological District is a historic site in Exeter, Rhode Island. It is centered on Fisherville Brook in northeastern Exeter, around a mill complex that flourished in the mid-19th century. It includes the foundational remnants of a gristmill, sawmill, and included an abandoned early-19th century Cape style house at the time of its National Register nomination in 1980.The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Congdon River is a river in the U.S. state of Rhode Island, in the Big River State Management Area and immediately south. It flows approximately 3 km (2 mi). There are three dams along the river's length: at Rathbon Pond, Money Swamp Pond, and at Millbrook Pond. The river's crossing at Congdon Mill Road is the former site of a grist mill (in 1778) and later a sawmill (in 1806), and is named after Joseph Congdon, the mill's owner.

The Baptist Church in Exeter, also known as Chestnut Hill Baptist Church, is a historic building located in Exeter, Rhode Island. The church building was constructed in 1838 in a Greek Revival style. The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 21, 1978. Mercy Brown, an alleged vampire, was buried in the Chestnut Hill Baptist Church cemetery in 1892 and later exhumed.

The Queen River is a river in the U.S. state of Rhode Island. It flows approximately 10.7 miles (17.2 km). There is one dam along the river's length.

The Beaver River is a river in the U.S. state of Rhode Island. It flows approximately 11.0 miles (17.7 km). There are three dams along the river's length. The river is also famous locally for its trout fishing in the spring.

The Ladd School in Exeter, Rhode Island operated from 1908 to 1993 as a state institution to serve the needs of people with mental disabilities or developmental delays. It was closed largely due to the deinstitutionalization movement of the 1980s.

Hillsdale Historic and Archeological District is a historic district in Richmond, Rhode Island. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. It represents the site of the former textile mill village of Hillsdale. Hillsdale is located on the Beaver River, and was originally known as Moore's Mills. It was the site of a grist mill built around 1800, followed by a wool-carding mill established in 1828. Later the carding mill was converted to the manufacture of "Negro cloth." By the end of the 19th century, industrial activity in Hillsdale had ceased. As of 1977, the site contained a few old houses, the stone ruins of the textile mill, and a mill pond.

The Usquepaug Road Historic District is a historic district near the village of Usquepaug in South Kingstown, Rhode Island. It consists of a collection of properties, mostly on the south side of Usequepaug Road (Rhode Island Route 138) between the Usquepaug Cemetery and Dugway Bridge Road. Although the area began as a rural, agricultural area, it developed into a modest rural village, with a church, school, and cluster of vernacular rural houses. The schoolhouse was destroyed in the New England Hurricane of 1938.The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

Usquepaug is a village in the towns of Richmond and South Kingstown, Rhode Island. It is located along the Usquepaug River. A portion of the village is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Usquepaug Road Historic District.
