Shell Point is an unincorporated community in Wakulla County, Florida, United States. Shell Point is located on the northern edge of Apalachee Bay, approximately 30 miles south of Tallahassee. Most notable for its family-oriented beach, Shell Point Beach was previously privately owned. After a petition by local groups to the state of Florida in 1995, the beach is funded by grants from the state and managed by the Wakulla County Department of Parks and Recreation services. Shell Point Beach is located in an Opportunity Zone, which is a federal tax incentive for investment in such designated areas.

Florida's 14th congressional district is an electoral district for the U.S. Congress and includes western Hillsborough County and southeastern Pinellas County, including most of Tampa. In the 2020 redistricting cycle, the district was redrawn to include almost all areas in both counties which face Tampa Bay, while northeastern Tampa and its neighbouring suburbs are redistricted into the 15th district. The 14th district also includes MacDill Air Force Base and Tampa International Airport. The former 14th district, in 2003–2012, was located in the Gulf Coast region in Southwestern Florida and included all of Lee County and portions of Charlotte and Collier counties. Fort Myers, Naples, Cape Coral and part of Port Charlotte were located in the district. From 2013 to 2017, the district was assigned to western Hillsborough County, Florida and Manatee County. After the district boundaries changed in 2017, it was located entirely inside of Hillsborough County and included all of Tampa. The district is currently represented by Democrat Kathy Castor.

Thomas R. Robinson High School (known as Robinson High School) is a public magnet high school in Tampa, Florida. It is one of the four high schools in the county that offers the International Baccalaureate diploma program. The school was established in 1959 and is named after Thomas R. Robinson, an educator in Hillsborough County who began teaching in 1917. Robinson High School is the smallest high school in Hillsborough County. The official mascot of Robinson is the Fighting Knight.

MacDill Air Force Base (MacDill AFB) (IATA: MCF, ICAO: KMCF, FAA LID: MCF) is an active United States Air Force installation located 4 miles (6.4 km) south-southwest of downtown Tampa, Florida. The "host wing" for MacDill AFB is the 6th Air Refueling Wing (6 ARW), assigned to the Eighteenth Air Force of the Air Mobility Command. The 6 ARW is commanded by Colonel Adam D. Bingham. The Wing Command Chief is Chief Master Sergeant Shae Gee.MacDill Air Force Base, located in South Tampa, was constructed as MacDill Field, a U.S. Army Air Corps, later U.S. Army Air Forces, installation just prior to World War II. With the establishment of the U.S. Air Force as an independent service in September 1947, it became MacDill Air Force Base. During the 1950s and 1960s, it was a Strategic Air Command (SAC) installation for B-47 Stratojet bombers. In the early 1960s, it transitioned to a Tactical Air Command (TAC) installation, briefly operating the F-84 Thunderstreak jet fighter before transitioning to the F-4 Phantom II. During the 1960s, 1970s, and early 1980s, it operated F-4 Phantom II fighters under various fighter wings, followed by F-16 Fighting Falcons in the mid-1980s to early 1990s.MacDill became an Air Mobility Command installation in 1996 and home to the 6th Air Refueling Wing, its 310th Airlift Squadron flying the C-37A, and its 50th Air Refueling Squadron and 91st Air Refueling Squadron flying the KC-135. The 6 ARW is further augmented by the Air Force Reserve Command's 927th Air Refueling Wing and 63d Air Refueling Squadron also flying KC-135s. MacDill AFB is also home to the headquarters for two of the U.S. military's unified combatant commands: Headquarters, United States Central Command, and Headquarters, United States Special Operations Command. Both commands are independent from one another and each is commanded by a respective four-star general or admiral. Two additional subunified commands are also headquartered at MacDill AFB: Commander, United States Marine Corps Forces Central Command, commanded by a three-star general, and United States Special Operations Command Central commanded by a two-star general or admiral.

Ballast Point is a neighborhood located in the city of Tampa, county of Hillsborough, and the U.S. state of Florida. It is bordered by Hillsborough Bay, a section of the larger Tampa Bay.
