Francis Nash (c. 1742 – October 7, 1777) was a brigadier general in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. Prior to the war, he was a lawyer, public official, and politician in Hillsborough, North Carolina, and was heavily involved in opposing the Regulator movement, an uprising of settlers in the North Carolina piedmont between 1765 and 1771. Nash was also involved in North Carolina politics, representing Hillsborough on several occasions in the colonial North Carolina General Assembly. Nash quickly became engaged in revolutionary activities, and served as a delegate to the first three Patriot provincial congresses. In 1775, he was named lieutenant colonel of the 1st North Carolina Regiment under Colonel James Moore, and served briefly in the southern theater of the Revolutionary War before being ordered north. Nash was made a brigadier general in 1777 upon Moore's death, and given command of the North Carolina brigade of the Continental Army under General George Washington. He led North Carolina's soldiers in the Philadelphia campaign, but was wounded at the Battle of Germantown on October 4, 1777, and died several days later. Nash was one of ten Patriot generals to die from wounds received in combat between 1775 and 1781. He is honored by several city and county names, including those of Nashville, Tennessee; Nashville, North Carolina; and Nash County, North Carolina.

Towamencin Township is a township in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 17,578 at the 2010 census. It is part of the North Penn School District and the North Penn Valley region that is centered around the borough of Lansdale. Towamencin has residential neighborhoods, historic farmhouses, recreational facilities, many schools, and open spaces. The community is a mix of residential, commercial and rural development. The Township is centrally located within Montgomery County with easy access to the Pennsylvania Turnpike’s Northeast Extension.

Dock Mennonite Academy, formerly known as Christopher Dock Mennonite High School and Penn View Christian School is a private school in Montgomery County that is affiliated with the Franconia Mennonite Conference and the Eastern District Conference of the Mennonite Church USA. The school was named after schoolmaster Christopher Dock of Skippack, Pennsylvania. The school's stated mission is to "inspire and equip each student to serve with a global perspective by integrating faith, academic excellence, and life-enriching opportunities in a Christ-centered community". The school has two campuses and serves students in early childhood to grade twelve.

North Penn High School is a part of the North Penn School District and is located in Towamencin Township, Pennsylvania, about a mile outside of Lansdale borough, 25 miles northwest of Philadelphia, along Valley Forge Road (Pennsylvania Route 363). North Penn High School was created in 1955 as the result of a consolidation of seven school districts (Hatfield Joint Consolidated, Lansdale Borough, Line Lexington Independent, Montgomery Township, North Wales Borough, Towamencin Township and Upper Gwynedd Township) to educate students from three former high schools: Hatfield High School, Lansdale High School, and North Wales High School. The original North Penn High School building was an expansion of the building that had served as Lansdale High School since the 1930s. The former Hatfield and North Wales buildings were eventually converted to elementary schools. The North Wales building is still used for this purpose today. The Hatfield building, later renamed the E.B. Laudenslager Elementary School, was replaced by a newer building in 1971. The current North Penn High School was constructed in 1971 because of severe overcrowding at the original school. The former high school building, located on Penn Street in Lansdale, is now Penndale Middle School. North Penn High School is among the largest statewide, with student enrollment for the 2005–2006 school year at 3,423. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors are represented at the high school. Freshmen, although commonly the first year of high school, only occasionally attend certain classes, and are regularly enrolled in one of these three middle schools: Penndale Middle School, Pennbrook Middle School, and Pennfield Middle School. The middle schools enroll grades 7–9, while the elementary schools enroll grades K–6.

The Edward Morgan Log House is a historic house built c. 1770. It is located at 850 Weikel Rd. in Towamencin Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Skippack Creek is a 15.7-mile-long (25.3 km) tributary of Perkiomen Creek in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania in the United States. Skippack Creek joins Perkiomen Creek approximately 3 miles (5 km) upstream of that creek's confluence with the Schuylkill River.A portion of the creek flows through Evansburg State Park and passes by the census-designated place of Skippack.Skippack is a Native American name purported to mean "a pool of stagnant water".It is stocked with brown and rainbow trout; other fish in the creek include smallmouth bass, catfish, sucker, carp, panfish, and freshwater eel.

The Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary (CBS) was an evangelical seminary in the Baptist tradition, located in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia. It has 558 alumni and provided master's and doctoral degrees to clergy candidates across various conservative Baptist denominations. The school was accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.The school was founded by Dr. Robert Jordan, the minister at the Calvary Baptist Church of Lansdale. In 1979, just prior to the graduation of the first class, the state of Pennsylvania approved the school for official seminary designation. Initially offering only a Master's of Divinity degree, a Master's of Theology program was added in 1985. In 1986, the school became a doctoral institute, as it added a Doctor of Divinity program. Two more degrees, which relate to missionary work and religious education, were added in 2004. In August 2013, it was announced that Calvary Baptist Seminary would be closing at the end of the upcoming academic year. It graduated its last class of 42 students on May 16, 2014. Its building was repurposed as Calvary Baptist Church.

It encompasses 33 contributing buildings and 1 contributing structure dated from 1912 to the 1980s in a planned residential neighborhood. The residences reflect a variety of popular late 19th- and 20th-century architectural styles including Bungalow / American Craftsman, cottage revival, and Colonial Revival. The contributing structure is the entry gate to the suburban development.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.
