East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania

East Stroudsburg is an historic train station built by the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad in 1856. The station served as the local stop for both East Stroudsburg and Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. The depot, recently known locally as the Dansbury Depot for the restaurant that used the building, is located on Crystal Street in East Stroudsburg. Service to East Stroudsburg ended on January 6, 1970, when the Erie Lackawanna Railway discontinued the Lake Cities. A proposal is currently in place to extend NJ Transit service to a rebuilt East Stroudsburg station. In spring 2021, Amtrak announced plans for potential New York–Scranton route. It is currently used by some of Steamtown National Historic Site's excursion trains.

The Schisler Museum of Wildlife & Natural History is a museum at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. It features habitat recreations that display and interpret more than 130 wildlife specimens from around the world. These specimens represent species from Africa and North America, including every species of North American deer and a comprehensive assortment of North American duck species. The museum also includes a display of insects from around the world and a Delaware River aquarium. The McMunn Planetarium is a planetarium at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. It features a SPITZ digital projection system that can show pre-produced videos as well as custom star shows. In addition to public shows, the planetarium serves as a classroom space for East Stroudsburg University science courses.The Schisler Museum of Wildlife & Natural History and McMunn Planetarium are located on the ground floor of the Warren E. '55 and Sandra Hoeffner Science and Technology Center at East Stroudsburg University, a Member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.

East Stroudsburg Senior High School South is a public high school located at 279 North Courtland Street in East Stroudsburg in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. The school's mascot is the cavalier. The school is part of the East Stroudsburg Area School District. As of the 2021-22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,336 students, according to National Center for Education Statistics data. The student-to-teacher ratio is 1 teacher to 14.68 students, roughly in line with the state average of 15.1. East Stroudsburg Armory, also known as the Captain George M. Kemp Memorial Armory, is a historic National Guard armory located at East Stroudsburg, Monroe County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1928, and is a "T"-plan building consisting of a two-story administration building and attached one-story drill hall executed in the Tudor Revival style. It is constructed of brick and sits on a concrete foundation. It measures approximately 56 feet by 128 feet. Since class warfare was no longer a concern, the function of the armory took a new turn, and armories were often used as community centers and for public gatherings. No longer were these facilities built to look intimidating; they were now designed in styles that were not visually associated with defense. Armories designed in the Art Deco and Moderne styles were now in vogue, mostly funded by the WPA to create jobs for both skilled and unskilled laborers during the Depression. Kitson Woolen Mill, also known as the Holland Thread Company building, is a historic woolen mill complex located at Stroudsburg, Monroe County, Pennsylvania. The complex consists of four brick buildings built between 1893 and 1904. They are arranged in a "U"-shape and consist of the "East Wing," "West Wing," boiler house, and office. The Kitson Woolen Mill was in operation until 1928, after which the mill was occupied by the Holland Thread Company until 1978.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Academy Hill Historic District is a national historic district located in Stroudsburg, Monroe County, Pennsylvania. Bordered by Sarah, 8th, Fulmer, and 5th streets, the district encompasses 180 contributing buildings in a primarily residential section of Stroudsburg.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Christ Episcopal Church is a parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Bethlehem in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1897 in a private residence in East Stroudsburg. The cornerstone for the current church building was laid on June 8, 1904, and the church was consecrated on November 21, 1905.

Monroe County Courthouse is a historic county courthouse located in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. The original section was built in 1890, and is a three-story, ashlar sandstone and limestone building measuring 65 feet (20 m) wide and 180 feet (55 m) long. It is in the Romanesque Revival style. An identically sized addition was built in 1934, as a Public Works Administration project.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

The population was 5,927 at the 2020 census. Stroudsburg is 39.8 miles (64.1 km) northeast of Allentown and 75.5 miles (121.5 km) northwest of New York City.

Gravel Place is a location within Arlington Heights, Pennsylvania, about three miles (4.8 km) northeast of East Stroudsburg. It is neither incorporated nor a census-designated place, but has a name recognized by the USGS. From the 1880s to about 1950, it was a railroad yard of the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad (DL&W) on its mainline from Hoboken Terminal in New Jersey, which served New York City by ferry, to Scranton, Pennsylvania, continuing northwest into New York State with its western terminus in Buffalo, New York. It is just north of present Mill Creek Road.
