Monroe County Courthouse is a historic county courthouse located in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. The original section was built in 1890, and is a three-story, ashlar sandstone and limestone building measuring 65 feet (20 m) wide and 180 feet (55 m) long. It is in the Romanesque Revival style. An identically sized addition was built in 1934, as a Public Works Administration project.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Christ Episcopal Church is a parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Bethlehem in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1897 in a private residence in East Stroudsburg. The cornerstone for the current church building was laid on June 8, 1904, and the church was consecrated on November 21, 1905.

Kitson Woolen Mill, also known as the Holland Thread Company building, is a historic woolen mill complex located at Stroudsburg, Monroe County, Pennsylvania. The complex consists of four brick buildings built between 1893 and 1904. They are arranged in a "U"-shape and consist of the "East Wing," "West Wing," boiler house, and office. The Kitson Woolen Mill was in operation until 1928, after which the mill was occupied by the Holland Thread Company until 1978.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The school's mascot is the Mountaineers. As of 2021–22 school year, Stroudsburg High School has 1,239 students, according to National Center for Education Statistics data.

East Stroudsburg Armory, also known as the Captain George M. Kemp Memorial Armory, is a historic National Guard armory located at East Stroudsburg, Monroe County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1928, and is a "T"-plan building consisting of a two-story administration building and attached one-story drill hall executed in the Tudor Revival style. It is constructed of brick and sits on a concrete foundation. It measures approximately 56 feet by 128 feet. Since class warfare was no longer a concern, the function of the armory took a new turn, and armories were often used as community centers and for public gatherings. No longer were these facilities built to look intimidating; they were now designed in styles that were not visually associated with defense. Armories designed in the Art Deco and Moderne styles were now in vogue, mostly funded by the WPA to create jobs for both skilled and unskilled laborers during the Depression. Stroudsburg Area School District is a large, suburban/rural public school district located in the Poconos of northeast Pennsylvania. The headquarters are located on West Main Street in the Borough of Stroudsburg in Monroe County. Stroudsburg Area School District encompasses approximately 73 square miles (190 km2). According to 2000 federal census data, it served a resident population of 30,713 . By 2010, the district's population increased to 36,502 people, by 2015 it had declined to 35,787. In 2009, the district residents' per capita income was $22,137, while the median family income was $56,546. In the Commonwealth, the median family income was $49,501 and the United States median family income was $49,445, in 2010. The district is one of the 500 public school districts of Pennsylvania. According to the Pennsylvania Budget and Policy Center, 44.1% of the district's pupils lived at 185% or below the Federal Poverty Level as shown by their eligibility for the federal free or reduced price school meal programs in 2012. In 2013 the Pennsylvania Department of Education, reported that 60 students in the Stroudsburg Area School District were homeless.Per District officials, in school year 2007-08 the Stroudsburg Area School District provided basic educational services to 5,906 pupils through the employment of 426 teachers, 364 full-time and part-time support personnel, and 24 administrators. Stroudsburg Area School District received more than $18.9 million in state funding in school year 2007–08. The superintendent of schools was Dr. John A. Toleno. In school year 2009–10, Stroudsburg Area School District provided basic educational services to 5,641 pupils. It employed: 415 teachers, 362 full-time and part-time support personnel, and 25 administrators. Stroudsburg Area School District received more than $21.3 million in state funding in school year 2009–10. In February 2017, Superintendent Cosmas Curry reported the district employed 379 classroom teachers and student enrollment was 5,087 students.

East Stroudsburg is an historic train station built by the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad in 1856. The station served as the local stop for both East Stroudsburg and Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. The depot, recently known locally as the Dansbury Depot for the restaurant that used the building, is located on Crystal Street in East Stroudsburg. Service to East Stroudsburg ended on January 6, 1970, when the Erie Lackawanna Railway discontinued the Lake Cities. A proposal is currently in place to extend NJ Transit service to a rebuilt East Stroudsburg station. In spring 2021, Amtrak announced plans for potential New York–Scranton route. It is currently used by some of Steamtown National Historic Site's excursion trains.

The population was 9,847 at the 2020 census.East Stroudsburg is located 42 miles (68 km) northeast of Allentown, 102 miles (164 km) north of Philadelphia, and 75 miles (121 km) west of New York City.
