Tassajara Creek Regional Park (TCRP) is a park near Dublin in the U.S. state of California, which has been called one of the most obscure parks in the East Bay Regional Park System. It is located adjacent to the eastern boundary of Camp Parks and was established in 1991 as a staging facility for the Tassajara Creek Regional Trail. Because of TCRP's small size—27 acres (11 ha)—and the existence of a security fence along the Camp Parks boundary, usage of the park by both humans and wildlife is limited.Amenities are minimal. There is just one picnic table and one short hiking trail, but the venue is rarely crowded. One writer opined that TCRP filled a worthwhile niche in the park district's offerings, saying that "this is a very friendly spot for young children and puppies to experience a first hike".

Santa Rita Jail is a county jail located in Dublin, Alameda County, California, and operated by the Alameda County Sheriff's Office. With a design capacity of 3489, Santa Rita is one of the largest prisons in the United States and larger than many California state prisons. The jail is adjacent to Federal Correctional Institution, Dublin, on the Camp Parks Reserve Forces Training Area. Santa Rita has one of the highest rates of in-custody deaths for county jails in California, and has been the recipient of numerous lawsuits and class-action lawsuits regarding jail conditions and medical care. As with most jails, the majority of people incarcerated in Santa Rita are in pre-trial detention and have not been convicted of a crime.

The Federal Correctional Institution, Dublin (FCI Dublin) is a low-security United States federal prison for female inmates in Dublin, California. The facility also has an adjacent satellite prison camp housing minimum-security female offenders. FCI Dublin is located 20 miles southeast of Oakland on the Parks Reserve Forces Training Area. It is located near Santa Rita Jail, which is operated by Alameda County. In 2021 and 2022, the facility was embroiled in a scandal over a permissive and toxic culture of rampant sexual abuse by staff at the facility.

Parks Reserve Forces Training Area (PRFTA), commonly known as Camp Parks, is a United States Army base located in Dublin, California, that is currently an active military and training center for U.S. Army Reserve personnel to be used in case of war or natural disaster.

Pacific Air Lines Flight 773 was a Fairchild F27A Friendship airliner that crashed on May 7, 1964, near Danville, California, a suburb east of Oakland. The Thursday morning crash was most likely the first instance in the United States of an airliner's pilots being shot by a passenger as part of a mass murder–suicide. Francisco Paula Gonzales, 27, shot both pilots before turning the gun on himself, causing the plane to crash, killing all 44 aboard.As of May 2021, the crash of Flight 773 remains the worst incident of mass murder in modern California history, one death more than the subsequent Pacific Southwest Airlines Flight 1771 hijacking in 1987.

Arroyo Las Positas is a 7.4-mile-long (11.9 km) westward-flowing watercourse in Alameda County, California, which begins at the confluence of Arroyo Seco and Cayetano Creek north of Livermore, and empties into Arroyo Mocho in Dublin, California.

Dublin/Pleasanton station is a Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station on the border of Dublin and Pleasanton in California. It is the eastern terminus of the Blue Line. It is also a major bus terminal served by six providers. The station consists of an island platform located in the center median of the elevated Interstate 580. A fare lobby is located under the platform; a pedestrian and vehicle underpass connects the station to bus bays, parking lots, a parking garage, and surrounding development. The Iron Horse Regional Trail connects to both the north and south sides of the station.

Komandorski Village was a temporary low-rent housing development in Dublin, Alameda County, California. It was built to hold the overflow of military personnel and families from Camp Parks. It was sold by the United States government to a housing authority in 1954, and was required to be demolished in 1984. It was located 2 miles (3.2 km) northeast of central Dublin, at an elevation of 371 feet (113 m).

Dougherty (also, Amador's, Amador Valley, and Dougherty Station) was an unincorporated community in Alameda County, California. It was associated with two separate areas near Dublin, the first at an elevation of 348 feet (106 m). James Witt Dougherty purchased the land in and around what is now Dublin, CA, in 1852. The land included a two-story adobe building that formerly belonged to Jose Maria Amador. A community grew up around the adobe and associated ranch, and was first called Amador's and Amador Valley after Jose Maria Amador the original owner of Rancho San Ramon (Amador). Dougherty built a hotel near the adobe and at the crossroads of two important local roads. One road went north–south and connected communities from Martinez south to Mission San Jose. The other road went east–west and connected the San Francisco Bay area with communities such as Livermore, Stockton and the California Central Valley. Dougherty obtained the post office contract in 1860 and used the name Dougherty Station. The post office name was shortened to Dougherty in 1896 and it closed in 1908.The second Dougherty was a platted area about two miles east of the original location. It was established by Charles Medley Dougherty, the son of James Witt Dougherty, and named after the family. It was designed to take advantage of an extension of the Southern Pacific Railroad connecting from San Ramon to Pleasanton in the early 1900s. Besides a railroad platform, there may never have been any homes or businesses constructed in the planned community. The area, Dougherty, continued to appear on some maps throughout the Twentieth century and may still be found on some online maps.

Amador Valley is a valley in eastern Alameda County, California and is the location of the cities of Dublin and Pleasanton. Part of Tri-Valley, the valley is bounded by the foothills of the Diablo Range on the north and south, Pleasanton Ridge to the west, and Livermore Valley to the east. Watercourses draining into the Amador Valley include South San Ramon Creek, Tassajara Creek, Arroyo Mocho, Arroyo Valle, and Arroyo Las Positas, as well as runoff from Pleasanton Ridge. These waters drain south through Arroyo de la Laguna to Alameda Creek, ultimately ending up in San Francisco Bay.

The 1980 Livermore earthquake occurred on January 24 at 11:00 PST in California. The epicenter of the 5.8 Mw earthquake was a hilly area 12 km (7.5 mi) southeast of Mount Diablo and north of Livermore Valley. The earthquake had a maximum Modified Mercalli intensity of VII (Very strong). Forty four people were injured and damage across the San Francisco Bay Area totaled $11.5 million, with the majority inflicted at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
