Salimullah Orphanage also known as Salimullah Muslim Orphanage is a historic orphanage in Bangladesh founded by and named after Sir Khwaja Salimullah.

Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board (Bengali: বাংলাদেশ মাদ্রাসা শিক্ষা বোর্ড) or Alia Madrasah Education Board started its activity independently in 1979. With the passage of time in Bangladeshi madrasah education several amendments have come to pass. In 1978 humanities and science faculties were included at the Alim (عالِم) level. In 1980 Fazil (فاضل) degrees were granted the same standard of education as Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) degrees but this was changed in later years with Dakhil (داخل) level having the equivalency of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) since 1985, and Alim being considered as the HSC equivalent since 1987.Humanities, science, business and technical education has been included with madrasah education. Meanwhile, a law has been passed for Fazil and Kamil (کامل) levels to be considered equivalent with bachelor's and master's degrees in general education.

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka, is an autonomous organization and responsible for holding public examinations (JSC, SSC and HSC). The board office is located at Bakshibazar, Dhaka.

Azimpur Government Girls' School and College (Bengali: আজিমপুর গভর্নমেন্ট গার্লস স্কুল এন্ড কলেজ) is a secondary and higher secondary school in Azimpur, Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was established in 1957 by the Welfare Association of Government Employees. In 1999 the school had an enrollment of some 2,700 students and a faculty of 82. The institution is known for its cultural activities. It hosts educational events like Bangladesh Mathematics Olympiad and Bhasha Protijog. The school celebrated its Golden Jubilee and reunion in 2007.The school started its classes in 1957. The first Head Master was Kazi Ambor Ali. In 1995, Azimpur Girls’ College was established on the school campus. Both school and college united into a single institution in 1999. It has nearly 2,800 students and 71 teachers in total. The Principal is Hosne Ara Begum. Property of the institution includes two buildings, a large playground, a duplex auditorium and a residence for the principal.

Lalbagh Fort (also Fort Aurangabad) is an incomplete 17th-century Mughal fort complex that stands before the Buriganga River in the southwestern part of Dhaka, Bangladesh. The construction was started in 1678 AD by Mughal Subahdar Muhammad Azam Shah, who was a son of Emperor Aurangzeb and later emperor himself. His successor, Shaista Khan, did not continue the work, though he stayed in Dhaka up to 1688. The fort was never completed, and unoccupied for a long period of time. Much of the complex was built over and now sits across from modern buildings.

Government Madrasah-e-Alia (Arabic: المدرسة العالية الحكومية, Bengali: সরকারী মাদ্রাসা-ই-আলিয়া) is a government madrasa located in Bakshibazar, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Since its founding, the madrasah has been playing a significant role in imparting and spreading Islamic education.

Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, commonly known by the acronym BUET, is a public technological research university in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Founded in 1876 as the Dacca Survey School, it is the oldest institution for the study of engineering, architecture and urban planning in Bangladesh.A large number of BUET alumni are active in notable engineering and non-engineering roles in Bangladesh and abroad.

On October 6, 2019, Abrar Fahad, a second-year student in the Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) department at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), was murdered inside BUET's Sher-e-Bangla Hall by activists of Chhatra League, student wing of then ruling party Awami League. The incident sparked national outrage and led to protests against campus violence. Out of 25 convicts, 20 were given death sentence and 5 others were give life sentence in relation to the murder of Abrar Fahad following a highly publicized trial. An autopsy report later confirmed that Fahad died as a result of severe blunt force trauma.

Jamia Qurania Arabia Lalbagh (Bengali: জামিয়া কুরআনিয়া আরাবিয়া লালবাগ, Arabic: الجامعة القرآنية العربية، لالباغ) is a Qawmi madrasa providing higher Islamic studies in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It has seven education sections from kindergarten to post-graduate levels.
