Burkersroda

Lanitz-Hassel-Tal is a municipality in the Burgenlandkreis district, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It was formed by the merger of the previously independent municipalities Möllern and Taugwitz, on 1 July 2009.

Laucha an der Unstrut (English: Laucha on the Unstrut) is a town in the Burgenlandkreis district, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It is situated on the river Unstrut, 13 kilometres (8 mi) northwest of Naumburg and 7 kilometres (4 mi) west of Freyburg. It is part of the Verbandsgemeinde (collective municipality) of Unstruttal and is in the Saale-Unstrut wine region. On 1 July 2009 it absorbed the former municipalities Burgscheidungen and Kirchscheidungen.

Burgscheidungen is a village and a former municipality in the Burgenlandkreis district, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Since 1 July 2009, it is part of the town Laucha an der Unstrut. Burgscheidungen was the site of the Saxon Hadugato's defeat of the Thuringians under King Irminfrid in 531. This defeat spelled the end of an independent Thuringian kingdom. It is variously attributed to the Franks under King Theuderic I or to their allies, the Saxons under Duke Hathagat. It was one of the founding myths of the Saxons by the ninth century.

Kirchscheidungen is a village and a former municipality in the Burgenlandkreis district, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Since 1 July 2009, it is part of the town Laucha an der Unstrut. Kirchscheidungen is situated on the river Unstrut in the Saale-Unstrut wine region. For tourists, there is a campsite and a canoe rental on the river. The village is served by a railway station.

Größnitz is a village and a former municipality in the Burgenlandkreis district, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Since 1 July 2009 it has been part of the municipality of Balgstädt.

The Ilm is a 128.7 kilometers (80.0 mi) long river in Thuringia, in central Germany. It is a left tributary of the Saale, into which it flows in Großheringen near Bad Kösen. Towns along the Ilm are Ilmenau, Stadtilm, Kranichfeld, Bad Berka, Weimar, Apolda and Bad Sulza. In the valley of Ilm river runs the federal motorway 87 from Ilmenau to Leipzig and two railways: the Thuringian Railway between Großheringen and Weimar and the Weimar–Kranichfeld railway. Part of the Nuremberg–Erfurt high-speed railway also runs through the upper part of the valley near Ilmenau.
