They are a 1 1/2-story stone grist mill dated to the late-18th century, three- to four-story banked farmhouse (1842), three level stone barn, Italianate style outhouse (1842), two-story stone and frame carriage house (c. 1890), cistern, and stone arch bridge (1903).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

It has two arch spans, one is 20-foot-long (6.1 m) and the second is 19-foot-long (5.8 m). The park is the location of the 535-acre (217 ha) man-made Marsh Creek Lake. With an average depth of 40 feet (73 feet at its deepest), the lake is stocked with fish and is a stop for migrating waterfowl. Marsh Creek State Park is 2 miles (3.2 km) west of Eagle on Pennsylvania Route 100. Park road hours 8:00 am until sunset. All other access open 24 hours.

On April 5, 1969, Donald Martin Lambright, son of comedian Stepin Fetchit, was traveling along the Pennsylvania Turnpike, east of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, when he went on a shooting spree. Reportedly, he injured sixteen and killed four, including his wife, with an M1 carbine and a .30-caliber Marlin 336 carbine, before turning one of the rifles on himself.The shooting was officially ruled a murder-suicide, but the account of the circumstances upon which the ruling was based was questioned by Lambright's daughter and discussed at length in her 2005 self-published book about Stepin Fetchit. In a Los Angeles Times interview, Lincoln Perry stated his belief that his son was set up. Lambright's involvement with the Black Power movement at the peak of the COINTELPRO program was believed to be related to his death.

Marsh Creek Lake is a man-made lake that resulted from the construction of a dam across Marsh Creek, filling a valley that prompted the relocation of residents from Milford Mills, Pennsylvania to higher ground. The reasons for creating the lake were "... frequent flooding, water shortages and lack of recreational opportunities for nearby population centers...."The lake is bordered by Marsh Creek State Park to the east and Lyndell, Pennsylvania to the west.
