The Valley of Knockanure is the name of several ballads commemorating a murder by the Royal Irish Constabulary that occurred during the Irish War of Independence at Gortaglanna (Gortagleanna) near Knockanure, County Kerry, Ireland. The best-known of these was written by teacher and poet Bryan MacMahon (d. 1998) at the request of a local schoolmaster, Pádraig Ó Ceallacháin.

Ahane (Irish: Áthán) is a small townland approximately 8 kilometres (5 mi) west/northwest of Brosna village in County Kerry. It is close to the border with County Limerick. The area consists mostly of dairy farms. As of the 2011 census, it had a population of 32 people in 11 houses. Ahane townland is in the historic barony of Trughanacmy, and has an area of approximately 2.5 square kilometres (1 sq mi).

Purt Castle or Port Castle (Irish: Caisleán Phort Trí Namhad) is a ruined Geraldine castle near Abbeyfeale, County Limerick, Ireland. The castle is known variously as 'Purt Castle', 'Port Castle', or 'Portrinard Castle' in sources.The remains of the castle are situated in the townland of Port (Irish: Port Trí Namhad) about 2 km northwest of the town of Abbeyfeale, on the north bank of the River Feale.Originally built by the Earls of Desmond in the 15th century, a plaque on the site indicates that it was destroyed c. 1580 during the Second Desmond Rebellion. Only fragmentary remains of the rectangular tower house still stand.

Moyvane GAA is a Gaelic Athletics Association club from Moyvane in north County Kerry, Ireland. They play in Division 5 of the County League, Kerry Novice Football Championship and North Kerry Senior Football Championship. They also participate in the Kerry Senior Football Championship through the divisional side Feale Rangers.

Knocknagoshel, officially Knocknagashel (Irish: Cnoc na gCaiseal, meaning 'hill of the stone ringforts'), is a village in County Kerry, Ireland. It is around 15 km south east of Listowel. According to the 2011 census, the population of the Knocknagashel Electoral Division (which includes the village and approximately 40 km2 of the surrounding rural hinterland) was 697 (down from 721 as of 2006).

Moyvane (Irish: Maigh Mheáin, meaning 'main or middle plain'), also sometimes known as Newtownsandes, is a small village in County Kerry in the south west of Ireland. It is situated off the N69 road between Listowel to the southwest and Tarbert to the north. The village of Knockanure lies to the immediate south. The parish in which the village is located is now also known as the "Parish of Moyvane". It was originally called the parish of Murhur, which was part of the historic barony of Iraghticonnor.

Fr. Caseys GAA Club is an Irish Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Abbeyfeale on the border of Kerry and Limerick. Gaelic football is the club's main sport. Established in 1884 by Father William Casey, Fr. Caseys GAA Club has been one of the most successful clubs in the history of Limerick Gaelic Games. Fr. Caseys GAA Club have won the Limerick Senior Football Championship on 8 occasions and contributed many players to the Limerick county teams over the years. In addition to their Senior triumphs Fr. Caseys have also enjoyed numerous Intermediate, Junior, U21, Minor and Underage successes during their history. Rugby internationals Phil Danaher and Séamus Dennison both played football for the club. Father Casey's most recent Limerick senior title came in 2006, when the team defeated St. Senan's by two points in the final at the Gaelic Grounds.
