Fr. Caseys GAA Club is an Irish Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Abbeyfeale on the border of Kerry and Limerick. Gaelic football is the club's main sport. Established in 1884 by Father William Casey, Fr. Caseys GAA Club has been one of the most successful clubs in the history of Limerick Gaelic Games. Fr. Caseys GAA Club have won the Limerick Senior Football Championship on 8 occasions and contributed many players to the Limerick county teams over the years. In addition to their Senior triumphs Fr. Caseys have also enjoyed numerous Intermediate, Junior, U21, Minor and Underage successes during their history. Rugby internationals Phil Danaher and Séamus Dennison both played football for the club. Father Casey's most recent Limerick senior title came in 2006, when the team defeated St. Senan's by two points in the final at the Gaelic Grounds.

The town is on the N21 road from Limerick to Tralee, some 21 kilometres (13 miles) south-west of Newcastle West and 16 kilometres (10 miles) south-east of Listowel and 38 kilometres (24 miles) north-east of Tralee.

Purt Castle or Port Castle (Irish: Caisleán Phort Trí Namhad) is a ruined Geraldine castle near Abbeyfeale, County Limerick, Ireland. The castle is known variously as 'Purt Castle', 'Port Castle', or 'Portrinard Castle' in sources.The remains of the castle are situated in the townland of Port (Irish: Port Trí Namhad) about 2 km northwest of the town of Abbeyfeale, on the north bank of the River Feale.Originally built by the Earls of Desmond in the 15th century, a plaque on the site indicates that it was destroyed c. 1580 during the Second Desmond Rebellion. Only fragmentary remains of the rectangular tower house still stand.

Ahane (Irish: Áthán) is a small townland approximately 8 kilometres (5 mi) west/northwest of Brosna village in County Kerry. It is close to the border with County Limerick. The area consists mostly of dairy farms. As of the 2011 census, it had a population of 32 people in 11 houses. Ahane townland is in the historic barony of Trughanacmy, and has an area of approximately 2.5 square kilometres (1 sq mi).

The civil parish of Brosna consists of the village and a number of townlands. It is a mainly agricultural area, supporting two churches, two schools, a post office, and five public houses.

Duagh (Irish: Dubháth, meaning 'black ford') is a village in County Kerry, Ireland, located approximately 7 km southeast of Listowel and 7 km northwest of Abbeyfeale on the R555 road. It is also a civil parish and townland.Duagh is a dormitory village for Listowel and Abbeyfeale and a local service centre for the rural hinterland. There is one shop, three public houses, two housing estates, a hardware store and petrol station/shop which are located on the village's only street at the centre of the village. Social facilities include a church and heritage/community hall and a Gaelic Athletic Association Club located at the centre of the village. The local primary school is also located in the village centre.

The Valley of Knockanure is the name of several ballads commemorating a murder by the Royal Irish Constabulary that occurred during the Irish War of Independence at Gortaglanna (Gortagleanna) near Knockanure, County Kerry, Ireland. The best-known of these was written by teacher and poet Bryan MacMahon (d. 1998) at the request of a local schoolmaster, Pádraig Ó Ceallacháin.
