Tapestry Folkdance Center is a non-profit dance venue in Minneapolis, Minnesota, dedicated to folk dances. Founded in 1983, the organization inhabited rented spaces until 1999 when it purchased a permanent home on Minnehaha Avenue. Tapestry offers a variety of dances including swing, contra, Bollywood, and Romani.

Roosevelt High School is a public school located in the Standish neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. A part of the Minneapolis Public Schools, it is named after 26th United States President Theodore Roosevelt. Athletic and other competition teams from the school are nicknamed the Teddies. Roosevelt has been an International Baccalaureate World School since March 2010, and offers the Diploma Programme as well as the IB Career-related Certificate.

Standish is a neighborhood within the Powderhorn community in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States named after Captain Miles Standish. Its boundaries are East 36th Street to the north, Hiawatha Avenue to the east, East 42nd and 43rd Streets to the south, and Cedar Avenue to the west. It shares a neighborhood organization with the Ericsson neighborhood, even though that neighborhood is part of the Nokomis community; signs at the neighborhood boundaries welcome you to "Standish-Ericsson". Roosevelt High School is located in Standish.

Longfellow is a neighborhood within the larger Longfellow community in Minneapolis, United States. It is bounded by Seward to the North, Cooper to the East, Howe to the South, and Corcoran and East Phillips to the West. It was named after Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, who wrote The Song of Hiawatha. It is populated by a diverse, predominantly middle-class (working class) population. More expensive homes are located closer to the river, and almost all of the housing stock is composed of Sears Modern Homes in the Bungalow style. The Eliel Saarinen-designed Christ Church Lutheran, First Free Methodist, and the East Lake Community Library building are located in this neighborhood. Longfellow was the centre point of riots during the George Floyd protests in Minneapolis–Saint Paul in May 2020.

The Trylon Cinema (formerly Trylon Microcinema) is a 90-seat movie theater in the Longfellow neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The cinema was founded and is currently run by Take-Up Productions, a group of volunteers who got their start at the Oak Street Cinema before establishing the Trylon in 2009 within a former warehouse. A 2017 expansion resulted in an increase in the cinema's seating capacity and accessibility. Throughout its history, the venue has featured a variety of regular programming, ranging from career retrospectives of famous directors to B movies and cult films. The Trylon has been well received by critics who have praised its film lineup, intimacy, and atmosphere.

Christ Church Lutheran is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) in Minneapolis. Its buildings—a sanctuary with chapel (1949) and an education wing (1962) designed by Finnish-American architects Eliel Saarinen and Eero Saarinen—have been internationally recognized, most recently in 2009 as a National Historic Landmark by the U.S Department of the Interior. The congregation was established in 1911 as part of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod, but left in the 1970s as part of a dispute that led to the formation of the Association of Evangelical Lutheran Churches, which in turn was among the founding denominations of the ELCA. The Rev. Miriam Samuelson-Roberts currently serves as lead pastor, with the Rev. Erik Haaland as associate pastor. The congregation is also served by its cantors, the Rev. Robert Buckley Farlee and the Rev. Martin A. Seltz.

Wonderland was an amusement park that operated in the Longfellow neighborhood of Minneapolis from 1905 through 1911. The ten-acre site was located between Lake Street and 32nd Street and 31st and 33rd Avenues.

Ericsson is a neighborhood within the Nokomis community in Minneapolis. Its boundaries are East 42nd and 43rd Streets to the north, Hiawatha Avenue to the east, Minnehaha Parkway to the south, and Cedar Avenue to the west. The neighborhood is the site of Lake Hiawatha, which is connected to Minnehaha Creek. Ericsson shares a neighborhood organization with Standish, even though that neighborhood lies in the Powderhorn community; signs at the western, southern, and eastern boundaries of the neighborhood welcome you to "Standish-Ericsson". The 46th Street station of the METRO Blue Line is located in Ericsson.

East Lake Library is one of 15 branch libraries formerly in the Minneapolis Public Library System and now one of 41 branch libraries in the Hennepin County Library System in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. Three different buildings have housed the library since 1924.

Corcoran is a neighborhood within the Powderhorn community in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. The neighborhood is bordered by Longfellow and Howe neighborhoods to the east, Phillips to the north, Powderhorn Park to the west and Standish to the south. Its official boundaries are East Lake Street to the north, Hiawatha Avenue to the east, East 36th Street to the south, and Cedar Avenue to the west. Corcoran is home to Minneapolis South High School. The seasonal Midtown Farmers' Market, a project of the Corcoran Neighborhood Organization, operates weekly on a site in the neighborhood. The Corcoran neighborhood is known for its public art and strong sense of community among neighbors.

Lake Street is a major east-west thoroughfare between 29th and 31st streets in Minneapolis, Minnesota United States. From its western most end at the city's limits, Lake Street reaches the Chain of Lakes, passing over a small channel linking Bde Maka Ska and Lake of the Isles, and at its eastern most end it reaches the Mississippi River. In May 2020, the Lake Street corridor suffered extensive damage during local unrest over the murder of George Floyd. In August of the same year, city officials designated East Lake Street as one of seven cultural districts to promote racial equity, preserve cultural identity, and promote economic growth.
