McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania

The Norwood Incline was a funicular railway located just outside Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. It operated from 1901 to 1923 between its lower station on Island Avenue, McKees Rocks, and its upper station in Norwood Place, Stowe Township. Originally free to ride, it got the nickname "Penny Incline" after it started charging a one-cent fare. Its two narrow-gauge tracks were formed by only three rails, the middle rail being shared by both tracks, except at mid-slope where the tracks separated to allow the upbound and downbound cars to pass each other.

It is the only high school of the Sto-Rox School District, which educates the children of Stowe Township and the borough of McKees Rocks. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, in 2010, the school reported an enrollment of 409 pupils in grades 9th through 12th, with 316 pupils eligible for a federal free or reduced price lunch. The school employed 35 teachers yielding a student teacher ratio of 11.79:1. According to a report by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, 2 teachers were rated "Non‐Highly Qualified" under No Child Left Behind.

Langley K-8, formerly Langley High School, is a public school in the Sheraden neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. Langley was one of ten high schools in the Pittsburgh Public Schools. On November 23, 2011, the Pittsburgh Board of Education approved a reform plan that would close Langley High School as an active school for the 2012–13 school year. The staff and student body would be relocated to the nearby Brashear High School, the district revealed plans for the Langley building to remain open as a middle school grades 6–8. Langley later reopened to serve students grade K-8. The building is an example of Tudor Revival architecture with the portions completed in 1923 and 1927 designed by MacClure & Spahr and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The high school is named for aviation pioneer and one-time University of Pittsburgh professor Samuel P. Langley.
