The Columbia and Nehalem Valley Railroad was a standard gauge logging railroad near Columbia City, Oregon, which was owned by the Portland-based Peninsular Lumber Company.

The Port of Columbia County (formerly the Port of St. Helens) is the port authority for Columbia County, Oregon, United States. The port is a municipal corporation formed under state law to engage in economic development activities. Under Oregon law, port districts have a broad range of economic development powers. The Port of Columbia County owns and operates properties throughout its district from the Clatsop County line in the northwest of Columbia County, to the Multnomah County line in the southeast, a six-mile-wide band that follows 51 miles of the Columbia River within Columbia County. The boundaries include the cities of Scappoose, Warren, St. Helens, Columbia City, Rainier and Clatskanie. The Port of Columbia County also owns and operates the Scappoose Airport in Scappoose and Scappoose Bay Marine Park in Warren. The Board of Port Commissioners is elected by district residents. The board sets policy, approves a budget, hires an executive director, and does other things in the best interest of district residents. The executive director acts as the administrative arm of the port.

The Caples House Museum, also known as the Dr. Charles G. and Lucinda McBride Caples Farmstead, is a historic house museum in Columbia City, Oregon, United States. Dr. Charles Caples and Lucinda McBride Caples emigrated across the Oregon Trail as children and married in Oregon in 1855. Charles (1832–1906) was the first physician in Columbia County and built his home in 1870 during the early years of Columbia City. He and the Caples family made important contributions to the development of the town, including establishment of its first school. Lucinda (d. 1916) served as a midwife and her husband's medical assistant, and had family connections to many prominent Oregonians of the period. In 1959, the Caples' daughter, Dell Caples Houghton, bequeathed the house and its immediate surroundings to the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) for use as a museum. As of 2003, the property included the historic house, toolshed, and barn, a remnant portion of the Caples' historic apple and pear orchard, and four non-historic buildings including a gift shop and social hall. The house and toolshed remain in excellent historic condition.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. The DAR continues to operate the property as a museum as of 2018.

Caples is an unincorporated community in Cowlitz County, Washington. The Caples community is located 2.5 miles (4.0 km) west of Woodland along Caples Road, on the east shore of Columbia River and across the river from Columbia City, Oregon. The Caples community is part of the Woodland School District, a K-12 school district of about 2,200 students.

The Cox–Williams House is a historic house, located in St. Helens, Oregon, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 1, 1982. It is also listed as a contributing resource in the National Register-listed St. Helens Downtown Historic District.

St. Helens is the county seat of Columbia County, Oregon. It was founded by Captain Henry Montgomery Knighton, a native of New England, in 1845, as "Plymouth". The name was changed to St. Helens in the latter part of 1850 for its view of Mount St. Helens, roughly 39 miles (63 km) away in Washington. The city is about 28 miles (45 km) northwest of Portland. Its population was 12,883 at the 2010 census.

Nob Hill Nature Park is a 6-acre oak woodland located in St. Helens, Oregon, 30 miles (48 km) north of Portland, Oregon. Situated on a basalt bluff, it overlooks the Columbia River, at the point where Multnomah Channel joins the Columbia. Notable flora include white oak trees (Quercus garryana), as well as native wildflowers such as camas, trillium, iris, and larkspur. A variety of invasive species are also present, including blackberry, English ivy, Lunaria (or money plant), vinca, mullein, thistle, and tansy. It is maintained by a community group (The Friends of Nob Hill Nature Park) which holds volunteer work parties twice yearly, in April and November. The proposed goal of maintenance activities is to return the park to a more natural and historically representative state, i.e. by removing invasive plants and planting native ones. These efforts are co-sponsored by a community partner group, Scappoose Bay Watershed Council. It is thought that this area was travelled through by the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Parking is located near the park's main trailhead at 451 Plymouth St, St. Helens, OR 97051. Photos from the park are available on the city's website. The park is open from dawn to dusk. Dogs must be leashed.

The Multnomah Channel is a 21.5-mile (34.6 km) distributary of the Willamette River. It diverges from the main stem a few miles upstream of the main stem's confluence with the Columbia River in Multnomah County in the U.S. state of Oregon. The channel flows northwest then north around Sauvie Island to meet the Columbia River near the city of St. Helens, in Columbia County. Chinook people, the Multnomahs, lived in villages along the channel at the time of European exploration of the Columbia River in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Flanked in the 21st century by moorages, marinas, and parks, and populated by a wide variety of fish, the channel offers many opportunities for recreation.

KOHI (1600 AM) is a radio station in St. Helens, 29 miles (47 km) north of Portland, Oregon on U.S. Route 30. It serves the cities of St. Helens, Scappoose, Salmon Creek, La Center, Woodland, and Kalama, the last four of which are located in Washington. The station is owned by The Mountain Broadcasting and is also affiliated with Liberty News Radio Network, Talkstar Talk Radio Network and Accent Radio Network; it is also broadcast live on radiotime.com.First put on the air in 1960, AM-1600 KOHI has been serving eastern Columbia County for over 50 years. It also airs in part of western Cowlitz County, Washington.KOHI features local news, weather, information about school closings, and information about upcoming events; programs it airs include The Alex Jones Show, Liberty Roundtable and locally produced Sports Talk Saturday at 9am. It airs the internationally syndicated program The X-Zone with Rob McConnell, which deals with paranormal topics including parapsychology and UFOs. KOHI's local news program is called Columbia County Magazine, it is hosted by Marty Rowe and features community information and discussions on topics including volunteerism. In 2009, KOHI ran "Lucky Jim's Fishing Show", a fictitious radio sitcom written and directed by local Hillsboro policeman Michael Rouches and producer Alex Rowe somewhat based on Rouches personal experiences. As of August 2011, the station also runs meetings of the Columbia County Board of Commissioners. KOHI also broadcasts old time radio shows under the label KOHI Radio Theatre.It also broadcasts Clean Columbia County's Odd Friday every Friday from 9 am to 10 am. Odd Friday is a local call in talk show with Tammy Maygra, Brady Preheim discussing local political, environmental and other odd topics. Nancy Ward left the show in January 2021. It is the only AM broadcast station in Columbia County.

Goat Island is an island in the Columbia River in Columbia County, Oregon. It is located adjacent to Deer Island. Goat Island was named as such by the United States Board on Geographic Names in 1976.

St. Helens High School (SHHS) is a public high school located in St. Helens, Oregon, United States. The city was founded in 1850 and the high school was built in the 1950s. During the 2022-2023 academic year, it served approximately 960 students. An auxiliary filming for the movie Twilight took place at the school in April 2008.
